For lovers of The Float Plan also from Trish Doller comes Off The Map. This book follows Carla, the BFF of Anna and Eamon, Keane’s brother both from The Float Plan. Carla takes a break from her wench bartending gig and nomading all over the globe to be the maid of honor in her BFF’s wedding in Ireland. When she arrives she meets up with the best man and the chemistry is immediate. They fall into bed quickly and take multiple detours while making their way to the wedding finding themselves falling for the other along the way. When the scheduled trip ends Eamon voices his ask for Carla to stay along for his planned adventure but she - for the first time in a very long time - is drawn back home assured that this is the last they’ve seen of each other. Only it’s not - thank goodness- when Carla is faced with a difficult loss only to find Eamon there ready to face the future with her.
I didn’t want this one to end! I swooned endlessly over Eamon. He was a literal dreamboat. Carla was a bit of a wild one but the two of them together were a fantastic balance to tame down the wild in Carla and influence a little more wildness in Eamon. These two were made for each other and I can only hope that we see more of them at some point in the future from Trish!!
I’m a major fan of Trish Doller - I will read anything she puts out, and I’m pretty sure I’ve loved each release more than the previous ones. Off the Map is even further proof of this - it’s absolutely incredible!!
I adore the Beck Sisters books, from Anna and Keane meeting in book one and finally getting married in book three, in Keane’s hometown in Ireland. Now, Anna’s best friend and maid of honor Carla (from the bar they met at and worked together for years in Fort Lauderdale) flies over to Dublin where best man, Keane’s older brother Eamon, picks her up to drive to the small town where they grew up... except they have an odd meet-cute at the pub where they meet up, get to chatting, discover each other’s wanderlust and end up driving around Ireland in Eamon’s Landrover, having great conversations and adventures… including the one pictured on the cover (yes, the upside down vehicle with the sheep, a bull, some sangria and the umbrella, does happen)!
It’s such a wild and wonderful adventure followed by the wedding, with our beloved original Beck Sisters series couple making appearances, a whole lot of great emotional discussions (TW: some extremely heavy inclusion of dimentia), great steam level, and beautiful writing. I absolutely recommend this book and series to everyone - anyone who hasn’t read the, yet is totally missing out. My only complaint is that it was too short - should have been longer!!
I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press (St. Martin's Griffin), and this is my honest feedback.

Trish Doller is fast becoming one of my favorite romance authors. She delivers another winner with Off the Map about Carla, a young American traveler raised by her father after her Mom ditches the family. She traveled with her Dad for years until being sent away by him as he prepared to battle dementia and didn't want to be a burden. Carla accepts his decree and honors the life lessons learned from her father until she stops in Ireland to be the maid of honor at her BFF’s wedding. She is to meet the groom’s brother in a bar in Dublin, where they would drive to the wedding some 7 hours into Ireland. But Carla and Eamon connect (literally and figurately) like a house on fire, and the fun begins. Eamon is “too good to be true,” and they instantly click. It’s a witty, charming, simple, and heart-warming love story that hits you like an arrow to the heart. I look forward to future books written by Trish Doller, as I am sure she has many more romance novels in her future. @stmartinspress #OfftheMap @trishdoller #Ireland #romance #lifedetours #love #future #family #chicklit #romance #hijinks @netgalley

Thank you so much to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for letting me read this one early! This books comes out on Tuesday, March 7th.
When I tell y’all to RUN and get this one, I mean it… GO GO GO!
Y’all know that I am a sucker for a good book that just punches you right in the feels. Lol, well this one did exactly that. When I was finishing it, my husband came out of the bedroom and asked me why I looked like a raccoon. Thanks a lot @trishdoller 😅💖
In all seriousness though, this book was fantastic.
If you’ve been here for awhile you know that I typically don’t love the insta- love trope. I don’t think it’s realistic and while I still didn’t LOVE it in this book, the cuteness of their relationship made up for it.
Off the Map has adventure, romance, family drama and self revelations which made this such a quick and easy read. In fact, I felt like at times the pacing was too quick and I wish there was a bit more detail in some scenes. However that is my only complaint with this book and I wouldn’t consider wanting more a bad thing anyways! Haha
One of the aspects I loved most about this book was seeing more of Anna and Keane from Float Plan. I loved their story so it was so awesome to see a bit of a continuation of it.
For Carla and Eamon- I loved the Banter between them. It was so funny and sweet. They had good chemistry which made for a few spicy scenes! I love how the characters made one another grow and face their fears. So sweet.
Trish Doller did an absolutely phenomenal job at describing the beautiful scenery and making you feel like you were in Ireland right along with the duo. There were some descriptions that made me feel serene just reading them.
The last thing I loved was Carla’s relationship with her dad. I am a huge daddy’s girl and I had so many quotes highlighted that just hit me right in the feels.
This book made my heart swell and break. It made me smile and cry. It was fantastic. Trish Doller has done it again.
Loved this one! Eamon is the brother of Keanan from the previous book, Float Plan and Carla is the best friend of Anna from that book, and she has just landed in Ireland for their wedding and Eamon has been tasked to pick her up from the airport and deliver her to the wedding. All plans go awry when they decide to take his van on a trek across Ireland on the way and they end up on an adventure. Carla is all for the backpack life as that is how she choses to live but Eamon finds it hard to let loose but as they trek along he loosens up and soon they are sliding off the road and end up stranded one night and then before reaching the wedding at the surf festival where they call the bride and groom to join them. Will these two be able to find a happy place they can be together?
Did not expect the emotional journey I was taken. The last couple chapters I read them through tears. I loved everything this story had to offer me, Carla and Eamon are made for each other, the chemistry is hot. The writing is phenomenal, vivid detailed scenery that makes me want to see it in real life.
What's it about (in a nutshell):
Off the Map by Trish Doller, a contemporary story with some romantic comedy scenes, is about Carla Black and Eamon Sullivan, two adults who still live by the rules their parents laid out for them even though those rules go against their current needs and dreams.
My Reading Experience:
I expected a straightforward romantic comedy, but Off the Map was more of a contemporary story with a few humorous scenes. I loved the character study angle my reading took. It's a hazard of being a counselor that when I see something isn't quite right, I look for clues as to what's happening with a character (or a real person). The story is endlessly touching as both characters learn to follow their heart. I loved watching their messy growth into being the adults they were always meant to be and even finding love.
The pace is quick from start to finish, and the narration is in the first person, with Carla telling the tale. This narration style is perfect for keeping the pace quick, and I loved her insight. She is much more insightful about other people than herself, but self-reflection is much harder to do. I even liked how she was as discreet as a machete. I actually found that bluntness endearing because it came from the heart.
If you are looking for a relatable and touching story with a fast pace and a few laugh-out-loud moments, Off the Road is just the read you are looking for.

In Off the Map, we follow Eamon and Carla on a journey through Ireland as they're set to be the best man and maid of honor, respectively, in Anna and Keane's wedding. Small spoiler alert here: but Anna and Keane are the couple from Trish Doller's book, Float Plan. They're the start of this series of books, also including The Suite Spot.
While I don't normally prefer stories that jump straight into a romance, especially one where the couple has just met, I didn't mind it quite as much in this story. I think I really just loved Eamon and Carla as a couple so much that I didn't mind the quick romance.
There were some heavier moments in this story, but overall, Off the Map, was such a fun story with a roadtrip across Ireland. The story drew me in so easily and I could really imagine I was there with Eamon and Carla!
I absolutely love Trish Doller's writing and her fun, unique storylines. Prior to writing these adult romance, she has written some YA novels, which I'm very excited to read in the future! I also can't wait to see what stories she has for us next!
Off the Map brought out the tears. Throughout the book a running theme is Carla dealing with her grief over her father having dementia. I've had some experience with dementia and Alzheimers (my grandma) and know that it's a long tough road for everyone. The memory loss is tough but the changes in mood and behavior can be tougher. Carla had so much to work through and I loved that she worked through it unintentionally.
Eamon also had some things to work through as he isn't living the life he imagined. Carla was the perfect one to light the exploration fire under him and make him see that it is possible to live the life that he wants.
Eamon and Carla have a lot of chemistry and I loved watching their attraction to each other grow and change throughout the week, and also that they did have a time of separation.

Review: Here we are again the queen of just jumping into book series right in the middle and not reading any of the other books. YUP we all know that is me but so far I have been able to make it work and this books wasn’t any different. This is a very cutesy love story honestly from the start which I always adore. The story line moves alone at a really nice and I always love a wholesome relationship between characters.
I also felt that everything that was brought up Alzheimer’s, heartbreak, longing to find yourself was all handled very reasonably and truthfully.
This was the first book I have read out of the series but I have nothing but high hopes for all the ones before this one.
Very cute story and worth the read to me.
Carla's best friend is getting married in Ireland so Carla flies there for a wedding. She's picked up at a pub by Eamon and they instantly hit it off. They have sex pretty much within hours of meeting and it just keeps going and going from there. Sex, lots of spicy details I should add. I'm in the minority and DNF at 54%. It's just not for me.
I want to be Carla Black! This story checked all my boxes; great plot, great characters, just enough spice and love. I've always heard death brings out the worst in people but sometimes it leads to self-discovery and happiness. I would recommend this book to everyone!
On the road to love, you don't need a GPS...
Carla Black’s life motto is “here for a good time, not for a long time.” She’s been traveling the world on her own in her vintage Jeep Wrangler for nearly a decade, stopping only long enough to replenish her adventure fund. She doesn’t do love and she doesn’t ever go home.
Eamon Sullivan is a modern-day cartographer who creates digital maps. His work helps people find their way, but he’s the one who’s lost his sense of direction. He’s unhappy at work, recently dumped, and his one big dream is stalled out—literally.
Fate throws them together when Carla arrives in Dublin for her best friend’s wedding and Eamon is tasked with picking her up from the airport. But what should be a simple drive across Ireland quickly becomes complicated with chemistry-filled detours, unexpected feelings, and a chance at love - if only they choose it.
Thank you NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
“Off the Map” is almost similar to the first book in the Beck Sisters series, “Float Plan.” Instead of traveling through the seas, Carla Black and Eamon Sullivan travels on land. I was delighted to learn that the hero of our story is Eamon, who is Keane’s brother and who we’ve met in “Float Plan.” I liked him then and I liked him even more now. Carla and Eamon meet in Ireland, when Eamon was in charge of picking up Carla from the airport to attend Anna and Keane’s wedding. The best man and the maid of honour. Tale as old as time. On their way back from the airport to the Sullivan household, Carla and Eamon had an instant spark, literally lost in time, captivating the other in conversation. They take several detours on the way home, creating new experiences and bonds with each other. It was lovely. I love how the two of them didn’t bullshit each other and were just “hey i like you, you like me, let’s have a fling.” And we know what happens when they say “it’s just a fling.”
I LOVED this book! Carla and Eamon are such good, relatable characters, with witty banter and strong character arcs. There’s a decent amount of spice as well which makes for a highly entertaining read. The non-romantic plot line regarding Carla’s dad’s struggle with dementia was so relatable and our author really captures the reality of caregiving for a loved one.
Fans of Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood should read this book. Easy 5/5!
Many thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This a was a cute romance with some life lessons thrown in to boot. I loved the growth in the main characters, growing from who their parents told them to be vs what they want. Full of adventures and off trail fun, this book was about exploring your boundaries. I also appreciated the fact that they weren’t pushing the whole “you have to be married to be happy” type that can be found in romances. Overall a good book.
Carla is an explorer first, adulting just enough to be able to take off on her next adventure. She’s flying off to her best friend’s wedding in Ireland where she is picked up by Eamon, the best man. They hit it off and on the way to the wedding they just take a couple of detours, with Carla encouraging him to go places he has always wanted to go. They bond and explore together. What will happen when she heads off on her next adventure?
Another Awwwworthy installment in the adventures of the family and friends of Anna and Keane!
Carla Black is a National Park junkie. Starting form her early childhood, she and her father would pile into her Dad's Jeep Wrangler and rough it in the wilds every summer vacation.
<img src="https://t3.ftcdn.net/jpg/04/99/75/26/360_F_499752616_zVzFrDCUSVxKGozZbL2GOpdaSwMkFe0A.jpg"/>
Eamon Sullivan has all the camping equipment and the itchy feet to follow in Carla's footsteps, but his fast paced, demanding job in finance leaves him little room for adventure... that is, until Carla Black kisses the living daylights out of Sullivan at a pub and makes him realize that he has been playing it safe all of his life when it comes to relationships. Carla Black simply mesmerizes him: she is his Wonder Woman with a back pack instead of a golden lasso!
Those were some sizzling hot scenes in the wilds of the Irish Wicklow Mountains:
<img src="https://peakvisor.com/img/news/Wicklow-Mountains-National-Park.jpg"/>
I was entranced by Carla's description of her adventures with her father at California's Joshua Tree National Park.

But I digress! Anna and Keane are getting married - and Carla is the Maid of Honour, and Eamon is Keane's Best Man. Shouldn't these two be busy hosting bridal showers and stags, you might wonder? Not in this book! Everyone, including the bride and groom, seems to have the travel bug!
Carla does not kid herself that what she has with Eamon is anything more than a "fling." Eamon just got out of a terrible relationship. He definitely couldn't be ready to jump into anything long term, thinks Carla, and she has to return to the U.S. and keep tabs on her father, whose dementia is worsening each day..

But Eamon has a few surprises up his sleeve, and we somehow find ourselves in the wilds of Patagonia, South America, toward the later half of this highly entertaining story. (Even I had caught the travel bug by then!)
<img src="https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/content/uploads/2022/08/wildlife-in-patagonia-guanaco-hero.jpg"/>
Both Carla and Eamon encounter some pretty rough waters throughout this tale.

How can they create something lasting out of what should have been a light and casual affair between two foreigners? I highly encourage you to read this one and find out for yourself. (And sure enough, there will be yet another installment to this highly readable, riveting series!)

Highly recommended! My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
Off the Map pulled me in right from the cover. Ireland was my last vacation before COVID hit, and I just fell in love with the winding unnamed country roads, the herds of sheep, and the people, I wish I had found my Eamon Sullivan while there, but alas I had to settle for a vicarious adventure by book. Off the Map initially has the feel of a spicy rom-com, but it is so much more. Carla is a free spirit raised by a single dad who pushed her out of the nest when he was diagnosed with dementia. Carla has been living a vagabond lifestyle ever since but is now questioning what she wants out of life after meeting Eamon while in Ireland for her best friend's wedding. Without giving too much away, Carla comes to terms with her emotions and heads home to spend time with her father before it is too late. All the feels arrive with her homecoming, and you just have to read on to see how things play out. This is a story that will make you laugh, make you cry, make you swoon, and make you hope.
Apparently, this is Book 3 in a series I had not read before. I found it perfectly readable as a stand-alone book, though I am excited to go back and read the others and I found Trish Doller's writing absolutely charming.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
I really enjoyed this! It was quick and spicy, with a ton of emotional depth. There are deeper themes paired with understanding and compassion and love, which takes the whole story to the next level.
I've never read the other 2 books in the series but this was obviously fine as a standalone!
4⭐
R for some 🌶️
Trish Doller has truly created such a lovely series that continues to show readers how anyone can find love, regardless of where they are or the hardships they experience. Carla travels to Ireland to see Anna (of the first book in this series, Float Plan) get married and falls in love along the way! While this story had a bit more instalove than I'd like, I thoroughly enjoyed the wanderlust and travel chaos that ensued for Carla and Eamon.
Carla was truly developed into a complex character with her own family issues in this book, but the book was so short that it felt like everything remained a bit too surface level and was easily resolved. I would have loved 50 more pages of angst! But regardless, I do love this series and can't wait to see what's next from Trish. If you love Abby Jimenez books, I think you would love this whole series but definitely start with Float Plan!
I keep going between 4 and 5 stars, so it’ll be 4.5 stars! This is a fun, short book that had all the cuddly feels.
Carla refuses to settle down and lets her wanderlust personality be her guide. She travels to Ireland to be the Maid of Honor in her best friends wedding. She meets the Best Man, Eamon, and discovers he dreams of traveling as she has. The two begin an adventure that helps them discover more about themselves.
I wish Carla had a little more sense of self as a women in her 30s vs living by the rules her dad has taught her. I love Trish’s representation of mental health and the connection between Carla and her dad. I’ll definitely be reading more of the other books in this series!!
The biggest thank you to #netgalley, St. Martin’s Press and St. Martin’s Griffin for an eARC of this book!
