Thank you NetGalley and Trish Dollar for gifting me an advanced copy of Off the Map in return for my honest review.

Trish has done it again. Another spectacular read. One thing I enjoy about Trish’s books is that when you get to the 3rd act break up it’s something that is understandable and not frustrating for the reader. While it’s my least favorite type of break up at least done in this way I’m not rolling my eyes.

I adored Clara and Eamon and how the play off each other. When they both meet they are both going through the motions of what has been expected of them by their parents. It’s wonderful to watch how they grow and create their own paths in the world. The reason I didn’t give it a 5 is that this is instant love, which is my least favorite troupe. They were saying I love you after barely a week. I mean at least it wasn’t a single day but still!

I also really enjoyed how Anna plays a big role in this book, which is ironic since that is the only one of the series I haven’t read. But I love her character and how strong and understanding she is.

All in all another wonderful read by Trish and I can’t wait to see what else she comes out with!

Off The Map will make you want to quit your job and just travel. Not because of the romance but knowing the experiences you can potentially have. Since I don’t have the guts, or the funds, to do so, living vicariously through Carla will have to do.

This was an enjoyable read even with the hard topics. But, what I liked most was the chemistry between Carla and Eamon. I was expecting for a big rift to tear them apart shortly after the first hookup, but, I’m happy that the author decided to let them continue their journey together and get to know one another.

The scenes between Carla and Biggie were also so well written and so special. Watching your parent fade away can’t be easy, but the love and bond they have was unmatched. You will laugh, smile and cry all at once while reading those chapters. If there is one thing Trish does well, it’s writing heartfelt scenes that brings so many emotions out of the reader.

Overall, this was the best out of the series. I was glad to see Anna and Keane doing so well. Stella was a great bonus mother and you can tell she has an amazing spirit. Biggie was so full of love and life even on tough days. I was glad Carla and Eamon stepped out of their comfort zones even when it was hard to do so. Every single one of these characters made it hard to stop reading.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the ARC in exchanged for my honest review.

Okay, let’s start at the beginning. The instant love trope is not for me and this book started off on a bad foot because of this. I almost didn’t finish it. HOWEVER, the middle and ending of the book saved it for me. We got to know the characters on a deeper level and I really liked how Trish Doller shined a light on dementia and what living with this disease is like. I loved the father daughter relationship in this one. I actually liked it so much more than the love story. It was sweet. So, to sum it up: The beginning of this one was not for me, but the rest I enjoyed!

Off The Map by Trish Doller is a delightful romance that takes you on a journey. Filled with travel, plenty of steam and a fun MC, this book was a absolute treat to read. I was hooked right from the beginning and I loved the Ireland setting. This story discusses dementia and the character of Biggie was written really well. Eamon is my new book boyfriend. I can't wait to read more from Trish! Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

I really love Trish Doller books because they cover real world topics such as grief.

I loved the romance in this novel even though it was instant love and there wasn't any build up to them falling in love.

As someone with wanderlust myself, I loved how much they all traveled. I would love to travel around the world like they do in this book.

This is a real short, quick read that you can finish in a single afternoon. While it's not a novel that is going to resonate with me for the rest of my life, it was an enjoyable read.

I absolutely love this story! I have read and loved both “Float Plan” and “The Suitte Spot,” but this might be my favorite in the series. While this book deals with heavy subjects, and there were parts where I certainly cried like a baby, I didn’t feel this book dealt with the kind of trauma some of the characters have experienced in the previous books.

I adored, loved, wanted to give the biggest warmest hugs to both Carla and Eamon. both of these characters are lovely, funny, kind, wonderful, amazing people; and together they made the most perfect couple. I don’t always love “love at first sight” tropes,
but it works so beautifully in the story. the first part of this book, the off-the-beaten-path road trip around Ireland made me long to visit the beautiful Emerald Isle and experience it myself (with one of the Sullivan boys, preferably 😉). but the second part of this book, once Carla returns home to her father, did my heart come undone.

the themes of family love and acceptance, in all its abundant forms, made this story so special. Carla and Eamon, and their friends and family, make the most beautiful found family, and I love them all so much. I loved seeing Anna and Keane’s story more, and I would’ve loved to see more of about Rachel, Mason, and Maisie too!

I have a new favorite book in “Off the Map,” and I can’t wait to buy it when it comes out 🤍

EDIT: review published on my instagram account March 3, 2023. I have tagged the author, publisher, and netgalley.

What I really loved about the first two books in this series (although they can standalone) was the connection of the sisters and family. While Carla is related to Anna in that they are best friends, I missed the connection that the first two books had. This felt series adjacent instead of part of the group.

I did love Eamon and the story was cute and sweet - it just didn’t land the same for me as Doller’s others!

#OffTheMap:⁣

“if I have any faith at all, I have faith in the stars”⁣

Let’s give it up once more for Trish Doller. Not only can Trish bring heavy topics into a romcom and normalize them, but she also gives her characters “non-traditional” careers and *gasp* they are okay. AND (oh I’m not done) she also knows how to throw a romcom out without the “great misunderstanding” (aka the book breaker) Do you know refreshing this book is?! ⁣

Also, the audio is amazing. Sarah Naughton is wonderful, as always. I loved so many scenes and could hear the vulnerability in the narration. Highly recommend this one audio. ⁣

I love when series will briefly bring back a character or two from the previous book. Anna and Keane were major players in the second half of the book, and I loved it. I loved seeing them happy again. It brought back all my favorite memories of Float Plan. Get this book, read Float Plan first (or you shall be spoiled) and just swoon over Ireland and wine drinking bulls.⁣

Thank you @smpromance and @macmillan.audio for the copies. Off The Map is out 3/7.

I surprisingly really enjoyed this book. Doller’s previous stories weren’t always my favorite. But this was cute and you’ll root for each character!

I’m squeaking in just under the early review deadline for Trish Doller’s next romance (featuring another dreamy Sullivan brother). Off the Map is coming our way March 7th and it’s another great romance underpinned with significant grief. Something about these books really touch the softest parts of me. And This one, did that (and more).

I’d like to thank MacMillan and NetGalley for the advance copy, thoughts below are my own, enjoy.

Fans of Float Plan I think will probably be the most delighted by this whirlwind romance between Keane’s brother Eamon (aka Father Francis) and Anna’s BFF Carla. The connection and ease in which their chemistry is apparent (for me) jumped right off the page. From the meet cute in the pub to the adventure these two ‘binary stars’ have, it was really clear that they were it for each other.

For folks that are caretakers of chronically ill, ailing or dying parents, please read with care. Carla’s father (Biggie) is dying of early onset Dementia and this features heavily throughout the book (including on page death). Be kind to yourselves friends.

Like Float Plan, Off the Map is a look at how grief and joy, sadness and optimism can seemingly co-exist. Even when we may feel we shouldn’t get to. Carla is such a wandering spirit and pushes Eamon, with the “subtleness of a machete” to go after his own happiness. And Eamon is the steady rock in which Carlas tumultuous seas sometimes swirl against.

I kinda loved that this was a gender swapped Float Plan in a sense. Where Carla is extremely competent and Eamon is kinda along for the trip, soaking up all her experience and sage advice (including car maintenance tips). There’s sweet moments, excellent cameo’s, laugh out loud banter, and features some of probably the most sexually explicit scenes of any of the books in this series, so yay for horny sad people!

There’s also a lot of heaviness. Carla’s father is dying and some days can’t remember her. If you’ve loved anyone with this disease (hi, its me) have your tissues handy. Like the grief themes in Float Plan, they do (I think) enhance the overall romance plot and make the happily ever after for Carla and Eamon even more emotional.

Off the Map is a great romance that hits all the notes I was looking for, and gave me all (literally) all the feels. Grab it when it hits retailers, March 7th 2023. And while you’re waiting pick up Float Plan and The Suite Spot too.

This is the third book in the Beck Sisters series, but it can be read as a stand alone. The previous two books are Float Plan and The Suite Spot. This is technically not about a Beck sister, but about Anna’s best friend and Keane’s brother.

I loved this one! It was so fun getting to see where Anna and Keane were at in their relationship after the end of Float Plan. I really liked both MCs. In typical Doller fashion, this isn’t just a fluffy romcom. There is substance to this story and the characters face some truly difficult obstacles. The writing is solid and the romance is sweet. I’d say this is my second favorite in the series, after Float Plan.

Upcoming Release!
Out Tuesday is the newest from Trish Doller, and the third in the Beck Sisters Series.
.
Carla is the best friend to Anna (in book 1) and heads over to Ireland for a wedding - where she meets the groom’s brother, Eamon. They connect and have a few unplanned adventures on the way. I just adored Eamon, and his one-liners had me cackling!
.
This was my favorite of the three! It just felt natural for these two individuals to come together, share experiences, and then realize they are perfect for each other. It just fell in place and felt real to me…even over the span of a week. Maybe it was my time in the military and it’s a lifestyle where connections are made quickly, and relationships don’t get the benefit of a long ‘courtship’…but it just warmed my heart. Plus it was in Ireland - a land I’ve visited once and heard about all my life thanks to my Irish Gram.
.
The conflict of the book was respectfully and delicately done, but there are TW/CW’s of dementia, and death of a parent. I hope Eamon’s sister gets her own story, and we get a glimpse of what’s to come…I just want to see a bit more into the future. Thank you @netgalley @trishdoller @smpromance for the ARC!

OFF THE MAP by Trish Doller was that perfect read for me, offering the story of freewheeling, accomplished traveler Carla who never looks back or goes home and Eamon, guarded digital map maker expert in guiding others, but not himself. From the time they meet, the chemistry between these opposites sizzles delightful steam. I deeply enjoyed traveling in Ireland through all the strange detours, obstacles, and wonderful conversations. Doller wove what could have felt predictable into a wonderful romp complete with past lovers, fathers with powerful mottos, and a beautiful countryside. I received a copy of this book and these opinions are my own, unbiased thoughts.

Well this book was a goddamn delight. Just a delicious read full of spontaneity, lust, emotional growth, and a road trip through Ireland.

Carla is a free spirit who spends most of her year traveling the world and has spent her whole life running from her feelings. She has no desire to settle down or fall in love which means she will be do at least one of these things in this book. Enter Eamon- a gorgeous, sweet Irishman w a sense of wanderlust, but inability to break free from his tidy, boring life. The two meet on the way to a wedding- he is driving her as they are both in the wedding party. They have instant chemistry and hook up at a mere 10% of the way into the book!!!! Bold choice @trishdoller! I was worried that this book may have blown its proverbial load too quickly, but no- these lusty horndogs proceed to screw their way across Ireland and it’s good. Carla declares it’s just a fling, Eamon knows better. As they travel they learn about each other and themselves and each has an emotional awakening.

I loved this- Trish Doller is a whiz at blending humor, sadness, and adventure. Her books are so humane, with flawed heroines who are full of grit and heart. Her heros are perfect dreamy sex masters without being aggressively alpha. If you loved Float Plan you will love this just as much. Def recommend!!

Smut- 2.99 stars (for quantity)
Romance- 4.79 stars
Story- 4.92 stars

I really enjoyed this novel! This made me want to go back to Ireland so badly. I really enjoyed the love story between Carla and Eamon. I wasn't expecting the plot around Carla and her father but that was lovely as well.

I loved Biggie!

Carla Black was used to traveling by herself in the jeep that she had restored with her dad working occasionally to top up her travel fund for the last decade. But now she was in Ireland for her best friend’s wedding (Float Plan by Trish Doller) and getting a ride to the wedding from the best man Eamon Sullivan, brother of the groom.

Cartographer Eamon Sullivan had a dream of traveling the world after making maps for other people but meeting Carla has given him the push to actually go camping with her help on the way to the wedding.

Carla is all about having a good time traveling the world meeting Eamon who needs a push to follow his dreams with a little help from their family and friends.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was ok for me. It’s the third in this stand alone sorta series book about a group of sisters. This one is insta love when a woman plants a kiss on an Irish dude. Sex happens reallllllly quick and wow the guy says “f*ck” a lot when he’s uh…climaxing. The female character reminded me a bit of the main character from life’s too short but somehow I found that more charming. I think a lot of folks will like this for steam and a lighter book. 3.5 stars

This might be my favorite of the series. Carla heads to Ireland for the wedding of her best friend, Anna, to Keane (the characters from Float Plan). As soon as she gets there, Carla is to find Keane's brother Eamon and head to the guy's hometown for the wedding.
What ensues is days worth of adventures as Carla and Eamon see the sights and explore, delaying their arrival until the last possible time. Carla's experiences of road trips with her father have given her the ability to make car repairs and shrug off mishaps, and Eamon needs her encouragement to get out and experience places he's been dreaming about.
I loved reading about their adventures and watching them fall for each other. This was a quick, fun read, even with a bit of heaviness.

It was fun to revisit characters from Float Plan, as we travel to Ireland in this one. This romance is full of adventure and steam, and it was fun to explore different places as our protaganists fell in love. There's some depth to this one, highlighting grief, going against family expectations and being vulnerable enough to love someone. I enjoyed this one.

“I’ll go anywhere in the world… as long as it’s with you.” ~ Off the Map | Trish Doller ✈️☘️🗺️

Carla Black is always on go, she prefers her life on the road traveling the world. Eamon Sullivan works creating digital maps, but dreams of one day traveling the world. The two unlikely couple get thrown together when Carla flys into Dublin, Ireland to be the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding and Eamon coincidentally is the best man. Eamon’s job is to pick up Carla from the airport and bring her from Dublin to Dingle for the wedding. Plans change when the duo decide to take a detour and the adventure becomes complicated with chemistry and unexpected feelings. But Carla doesn’t do relationships or any kinds of ties, except to her father Biggie who is losing a battle with dementia and he doesn’t want her to see him like that. It’s up to Carla to return home and reconnect with her family, learn to say goodbye, and possibly let love into her life once and for all.

What a cute book this was! I personally love to travel and I appreciated the research the author did for the locations in Ireland! I even looked a couple up online and the descriptions where spot on! I may have added some to my bucket list spots for a future Ireland trip! Over all this book had me laughing, crying, feeling the love and most of all getting me into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit! ☘️
