This is my first book by Doller and I wasn't sure what to expect. From what I learned, this is the third book in a series but can be read as a stand alone. However, I found that this book was not my cup of tea.

Firstly, Carla and Eamon didn't have any sort of build up. One minute they are meeting up at the bar and getting to know each other then the next we have a spicy scene. I don't think I would classify this as insta-love but rather just two people lusting after each other? It wasn't believable that they are near my age (early thirties). The spicy didn't bother me but rather that there was no build up to it.

Second, I felt like there wasn't much growth in the characters based on my reading experience. The plot basically focused on the lusty parts and traveling around Ireland.

I did enjoy Doller's writing because it was easy to get into. I would love to try the previous two books because those have pretty decent reviews! Honestly, I would recommend skipping this one unless you need a palate cleanser that doesn't require much focus.

This book was the perfect way to start off a new year of reading! I loved the style of writing, and was easily caught up in the storyline. The main characters were relatable, and I found myself rooting for them. Also, I’m a sucker for a guy with an Irish accent, so the little oddities that he said were endearing.

I didn’t like this book as much as the previous two, but it was still pretty enjoyable. I actually preferred towards the end, where it was less romance and more serious. I couldn’t really relate to the main character for several reasons and I never really like when the two main characters sleep together immediately- it messes with any tension in the story. There were a couple small things I felt seemed unrealistic- Carla traveling by plane with a “Leatherman multi-tool” because I don’t think they would allow that as a carry-on and her and Eamon texting each other photos when hiking out in the wilderness (partly because of probable lack of signal but also because she has her phone in a foreign country).
Overall, this was a sweet story about two slightly dysfunctional people finding their ways.

This story follows Carla and Eamonn as they trek to Anna and Keane’s wedding in Ireland.

I loved the Irish setting! I usually am not a fan of an instant-love and physical connection so it took me some time to get invested in Carla and Eamonn’s story. I ultimately liked that they were able to be vulnerable with one another and Carla recognized the importance of letting people in and establishing found family.

While the story has some steamy scenes, we get depth too as our characters navigate family expectations, loss, and pursuing your dreams.

Overall a quick read that I’d recommend if you enjoyed Float Plan!

I will be shocked if this isn’t the best book I read in 2023. It’s absolutely one of my all time favorites, right up there with Float Plan. I was charmed for the first 75% of the book- the romcom part, but man can Trish Doller bring the pain. Don’t worry, it’s mostly the good kind. The banter and chemistry is off the charts, but both our MC’s personal obstacles are relatable and deep. This story will stay in my head for years to come. 5 ⭐️

WOW!! I absolutely LOVED everything about this book. From the character development to the environment, I found myself grinning from ear to ear the entire time I was reading.

I laughed, I blushed, and I even shed a couple tears while reading this amazing book. Carla and Eamon are lovable characters that you couldn't help but be automatically head over heels for them.

I read this book in one sitting, I just couldn't stop reading!! Easy 5 stars for me.

Even thought this book has plenty of romance, it's more about the journey of the main character and her relationship with her father and not being afraid to leap out of your comfort zone and do something scary.

Carla and Eamon are SUCH a fun couple, to the point where I’d love to have drinks with them or go on one of their adventures. Doller really did a wonderful job of writing well-developed characters, and painting very vivid scenes of their adventures in this book. It also made me want to plan a trip to Ireland as soon as possible.

I had absolutely no complaints about this book. I loved everything - the descriptions, the scenery, the adventures, the romance, ALL OF IT. Trish Doller, please keep writing amazing romances.

Trish has Carla traveling to Ireland from Florida. Characters from the past 2 novels make an appearance. This book teaches you how to follow your heart with personal and work aspirations with some spice as well. Trigger warnings of abandonment and alzheimers

This story was such a fun and inspirational read! I love good road trip between characters and even more so when they're strangers and it provides a shared experience for them to bond over.

I loved the carefree nature of Carla and how her love of travel stemmed from a father who did his best to give her a memorable childhood after the mother walked out. Her father, Biggie, was such a fun side character and his story was both inspirational yet heartbreaking. His story had me in literal tears, and it's been a long time since a book has caused me to shed tears, especially for a side character. His battle with dementia and how it has impacted his relationship with Carla was gut-wrenching yet understandable in many ways and it really made Carla a truly strong character and it makes you feel her pain and guilt alongside her. Carla's wanderlust and many travel stories will inspire you to want to just jump on a plane or hop in your car and chase your next adventure.

Eamon was a fun love interest and while I'm usually pretty adverse to insta-love stories, I found myself enamored with his and Carla's story and how despite it being their first time meeting each other that they've felt like they've known each other forever. They also communicate remarkably well, which I really appreciated. There's lots of spice and plenty of both passion and tension between the two and you can't help but root for them from that first meeting at the bar. Eamon's character arc was great and I loved how traveling to places he's always wanted to go to with Carla helped him figure out just the kind of life he truly wanted and that it was time to stand up to his family's expectations. It's something that too many of us are all too familiar with.

The writing was excellent and I never found myself bored. I do think the book could have been a little longer as it seemed rushed there at the end as things started happening so fast to wrap the story up. The relationships did feel genuine and there's plenty of moments that leave you wishing you were right there in gorgeous Ireland with the protagonists.

Overall, this story is swoon worthy with charming characters and even a cast of side characters you will fall in love with. It will leave you feeling inspired to plan your next adventure and learn to live a life that makes you happy!

Love Trish Doller! I have read the other two novels in this series, and this one doesn't disappoint. Doller really does relationship development so well. She is able to bring 'broken' people together in a really belieable way. I loved the relationship development between Carla and Eamon. Carla has a complicated relatioship with her father who has Alzheimer's disease, which Doller handles sensitively and beautifully.

For fans of Doller's other novels in the series, this one won't disappoint. However, this one can definitely be read without having read 'Float Plan' or the 'Suite Spot'. Perhaps a bit steamier (and a shorter novel overall) than the other two novels in the Beck Sisters series, but still a great read. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I loved this book! This super fun, quick read follows Carla and Eamon on an unforgettable road trip on their way to Anna and Keane’s wedding, with many detours along the way. Off the Map dives right in and I couldn’t put it down once I started. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sweet feel-good story!

Carla Black is an adventurer - she works hard a few months each year to fund her travels the rest of the year. Eamon Sullivan is a rule follower at heart who yearns to live a more adventurous life. When the two meet for a wedding in Ireland, an unlikely friendship and an even more unlikely detour lead them to love.

One of the things I absolutely LOVE about Trish Doller books is that the main conflict is never a misunderstanding between the two main characters. Sure, they have spats, but it’s never the main obstacle at the end of the book. It’s just so refreshing for a romance book. Carla’s journey with her dad was the main climax and it was just SO GOOD.

The second thing I love about her books is the physical journeys her characters pursue. Anna and Keane went on a sailing trip. Carla and Eamon in this book went on an epic road-trip. It just hits the wanderlust itch in such a perfect way.

Overall a great read, emotional read! I can’t recommend it enough!

Wanderlust | Romance

Trish Doller’s book is the perfect vacation into reading. She takes you to Ireland through main character, Carla. Doller’s writing fills you with wanderlust and really gives you this beautiful image of Ireland.

Besides her beautiful writing of the setting, her characters are so likeable! Carla and love interest Eamon pull at your heart strings with each characters flaws, personal struggles, and of course romantic struggles. Her characters aren’t perfect! They struggle with sibling rivalry, parents facing health issues, and learning to love.

Carla and Eamon’s relationship starts off so fun, but you truly see it grow throughout their jeep journey together. The book is a perfect flow of their relationship and self growth.

I think a big takeaway from her characters is that the ride is never straight through… there are always stops and side quests along the way!

I adore this series and I adore Trish's writing. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. FLOAT PLAN still has my whole heart, but this one is great too!

I really enjoyed this book. The pace is great, the writing is engaging. I immediately cared about Carla and her journey, her interactions with Eamon and Anna, and the adventures she goes on.
It was very touching to hear about Biggie, Carla's dad, and his dementia diagnosis, and the ensuing decline of his mental capacity. It's a topic that isn't spoken enough about, and it was dealt with in a very compassionate way, I thought.
I enjoy the people in this series, and would enjoy more of their lives.

OKAY! I really liked the premise of this book (another third in the series that I had no idea was a series. It's a pattern with me apparently.) However, it fell a little flat.

--What I loved:
I love the adventurous spirit. In fact, OFF THE MAP drew me in at first with the title and cover. I loved Biggie and Carla's adventures and reading all about these places that I myself haven't gone to yet. I took notes and plan on hitting a few on my next cross-country tour.

--What was off:
I'm all for lust at first sight but I felt like they were immediately in bed from the get-go. It may just be my preference, but I like when it's a little more of a wait. A little build up to the fling would have gone a long way.

I also felt like the emotional capacity of the characters turned me off. They fell flat to me. Or maybe it was how long the time had passed with Biggie and Carla. (Again, my own opinion but dang.)

--The Ending: Without majorly spoiling anything, I will say the ending of the book redeemed it for me a bit. I just wish it had happened a little sooner in the book.

All in all, though, it was a fun read and I've already requested the other books in the series from the library.

This book was very sweet and romantic. I liked the "love at first sight" storyline, and I liked the fact that it was a simple and romantic love story. However, I was a bit disappointed in this book overall. I enjoyed Float Plan by Trish Doller so much, and this book just didn't compare.

In Float Plan, I felt like I was living the sailing experience and adventure along with the characters. I fell in love with the love story of the book. But, in Off The Map, I didn't feel the adventure or imagine myself alongside the characters. Instead, I was just being told what they were doing, told where they were going, and told what their personalities were like. I never actually believed that Carla was the great adventurer she was supposed to be.

I also really just didn't buy into the storyline about her father with dementia. I went through dementia with my own father, and this just didn't seem like a realistic representation of the disease. You don't just take off and leave someone behind with dementia because they tell you once that they want you to go. They would forget the conversation by the next day, and they would need and appreciate your presence. So, this part of the storyline really bothered me. It made Carla very unlikable to me.

Overall, I just didn't feel the romantic magic and sense of adventure that I did with the Float Plan. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance copy. I was thrilled to receive a copy of this book, and I look forward to the next book from Trish Doller.

I’ve never read a book by Trish Doller. Now I’ll be adding all her books to my TBR. I expected this to a fun, light-hearted read and it was. What I also got were characters with depth and a story that drew me in and kept me invested throughout. I was surprised to find this was a shorter book, it was so fleshed out I felt I’d read a longer novel.

I really enjoyed Off the Map and can’t wait to go back to read Float Plan and The Suite Spot, the first two books in this series.

This was so beautiful. As I was reading this, there were so many laughs, so many spicy moments and even a few tears near the end. I really enjoyed this book! Carla and Eamon were so easy to love. Together they were even more easy to love. I loved the character development for both of them throughout the story. There were so many funny and cute moments and even a tear jerking sad moment. It was just so beautifully written I had to keep reading in one sitting to see the story unfold. I've only read the first book of this series, though each book can be read as a standalone, so I definitely want to go back and read the second book.
