Trish Doller is officially a must read author for me!! Her latest novel Off the Map is a heartwarming romance that will grab you from the first page! My favorite part about Trish Doller’s novel is that her characters are so endearing and boy is that true with this read. I really enjoyed that both of the main characters had many layers that Trish Doller organically peeled back throughout the novel. I was immediately captivated by the storyline and found myself finishing this 5 star book in record time! As per usual, I am looking forward to anything and everything Trish comes out with next!
Trish Doller does it again! I've loved every book in the Beck Sisters batch: Float Plan, The Suite Spot and (now) Off the Map too!
On the surface, this is a sweet story of self discovery but as we get into it, there are many deeper issues at hand: Ill family members, hopelessness, exploring the sense of self and a nod to the idea that "it's never too late to do it differently."
I loved this book and the main characters didn't disappoint. The story takes place in Ireland as well as Florida so there is plenty of variety there!
Read it and enjoy! :)
This book is the third in its series. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading them all [in order]. Characters from book one make a reappearance here, so Float Plan lovers, you will be happy!
This book started off quick & grabbed my attention right away. Carla, our female lead who lives for her wanderlust, heads to Ireland for her best friend’s wedding. She’s the maid of honor in Annie & Keane’s wedding. The best man, Eamon, is supposed to pick her up and drive her to the wedding festivities. They meet up & they’re instantly attracted to each other. I could see where it was going. Unfortunately, that attraction moved a little too quickly for me. They hit it off, which is great, but there was a serious lack of relationship development before fully jumping in. It was hard to buy into them & their insta-lust. They spend an incredible week together, full of adventure and missteps & declarations of love (yes, after one week), before she heads home.
THIS is when the story took a turn and sucked me in. Carla’s dad has Alzheimer’s, and he doesn’t want her to watch him deteriorate. She honors this request, but that was a struggle to believe…that she goes 6 years without seeing him in person, but will FaceTime him? If she has the relationship with her dad that the author describes, it seems out of character that she didn’t see him for so long. Anyways…she heads home and the rest of the story is a beautiful & emotional telling of a daughter spending her father’s final days as a pair. This is the writing I loved in books one and two. I wish it hadn’t taken 2/3 of the book to get to this part. I loved their scenes together & how sweetly the author wrote their relationship.
If you’ve read the first two in the series, this is definitely worth picking up. Just remember, it gets better the further you get into it!
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This book is slated for publication in March 2023.

I found this book started off a little slow, but then I fell in love with Eamon and Carla’s story. Loved reading about their adventures and it made me laugh out loud. This book gave me all the emotions. Loved Float Plan so it was so fun to read about Anna and Keane again. This book makes me want to go to Ireland😍
Thanks to St. Martin's Press, St. Martin's Griffin and Netgalley for my advanced ecopy in exchange for my honest review.

Another lovely romance by Trish that's on the softer side but still delicious. I love that each book has such a different setting and wandering in the Irish countryside was perfect for the main characters. Great chemistry and very brief interludes with previous characters which made me happy as I'm not fond of a lot of repeat characters.

Insta-love, adventure, heartache, and fun are just a few words to describe this book, but at the top of that list is FABULOUS. This is the third book of the Beck Sisters series, and we get a major update on Anna and Keane (The Float Plan) in this one. Plus, the ending hints at a possible follow-up. 🎉
Carla Black is a fun-loving, free-spirited adventurer who falls too quickly, according to Carla, for Eamon (Keane's brother). Their love connection is like being wrapped in a warm hug; it just does a body good.
I loved the well developed characters, the banter, the adventures, and the healing. I laughed with Carla and Eamon and cried as Carla worked through tough stuff.
One thing to note is the topic of early onset dementia (Carla's dad) as this may be a trigger for some. I lost my mom to Alzheimer's, so I definitely felt all the feels, but the author dealt with the topic respectfully.
Thank you to NetGalley (Digital copy), Goodreads (hard copy), and St. Martin's Press for the ARC copies. I definitely recommend this book even if you haven't read the previous two in the series as it can be read as a stand-alone. However, do yourself a favor and just read them all. ❤️📖
This was a beautiful story!! This book makes you laugh, gives you some spicy moments and even gets you a little emotional. You will fall in love with Carla and Eamon! If you want to read something that makes you feel all emotions this book is for you!!
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for allowing me to read this ARC.
This book starts out as a beautiful tribute about a daughter fulfilling the wishes of her father, who now has Alzheimer's, by traveling the world.
Carla meets Eamon when she lands in Dublin for her friend's wedding, and this one had me fantasizing about visiting at the get-go. The book mainly takes place over a few days and while insta love usually isn't a trope I enjoy, I just really fell in love with this book and the characters in it. There was no unnecessary drama or miscommunication, the feelings and reasons for each act of the characters were real. The story of Carla and her father was particularly touching. Carla and Eamon were wonderfully developed and honestly I would read a follow-up story of their travels and adventures
This is the third book in a series (Float Plan and The Suite Spot) but can be read as a standalone. I haven't read Trish Doller before but you can be certain after this one I plan to read her other books ASAP. Highly recommend- 4.5 stars.
I didn’t realize at first that Off The Map was part of a series, but I think it can easily function as a standalone as well. I have read Float Plan in the past and will need to add Doller’s other book to my TBR!
Off The Map is about Carla and Eamon and their insta-love. This usually isn’t a favorite trope of mine, but man did Doller do it right here! Their connection is just perfection. Their conversations quickly turn deep, their chemistry is burning hot, and I adored their meet cute. The romance itself would have made this one a 5 star read as they adventure their way across Ireland, but then Doller also gave us a moving portrait of the love between a father and a daughter. You can feel the love and the ache that Carla feels for her father as he struggles with dementia. She desperately wants to keep his memories alive and to keep her tight bond with him, and this part of the story was both beautiful and heartbreaking.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for the ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
When I saw that this was available as an ARC, I immediately requested it as I really loved the first two novels in her series. This one follows Anna’s friend Carla as she travels to Ireland for Anna’s wedding to marry Keane (*swoon*).. Overall, I love Trish Doller’s romance novels as they are never just about the romance. In Float Plan, it was heavy on grief after the loss of a spouse. The same rings true for OFF THE MAP. While it was not as heavy as the first in the Beck Sister series, it definitely was a tear jerker without giving too much away!!! I loved reading about Carla and Eamon’s adventures in Ireland. And as a Floridian, I also appreciate the second half of the novel taking place in the sunshine state. I am not sure if there will be more in this series, but I will definitely read more from Trish Doller in the future as her romance novels are fun, cozy, sexy and steamy, but also have substance.
Once again, Trish Doller creates fully developed characters. There is more emotion in this book than expected, especially considering how quickly the main characters “fell” for one another. Each had a unique approach to life and justification for their actions, based on some past and present family trauma to process. I enjoyed this one and will continue to seek out the author’s work, although I think this is the termination of the Beck Sisters series (which can all be read as standalone, but the backstory does help).
*I was honored to read an ARC of this book via NetGalley and the author/publisher. All opinions are my own.*
This book is the definition of fine, nothing grabbed me but it was a super easy read. My biggest issue is there just didn't feel like there was any depth to the store. Carla and Eamon meet, and it's zero to 60 in 5 mins with no relationship building. Within 2 days they are soulmates, getting way involved in each other's lives and families. It just felt so surface level and cliche. I've enjoyed other stories by this author, but this one was nothing special.
Trish Doller does it again!
I loved this book so much! Carla has nothing in common with me, but I felt very connected to her right away. Eamon was such a lovable character— and worked well with the other characters in the previous books! The steam was perfect in this book— not too much, just enough!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy of this book!
I loved this book, maybe even more than the first 2. Carla is a world traveler and explorer of other cultures, I have tried to do this in my life too. I love seeing her adventures and knowing the same things. Eamon is so sweet to her and I love that she helped him discover his love of traveling too. This book did make me cry, which is fine, I'm more emotional after having a baby. Biggie did his best to show his daughter unconditional love and knowledge of the world. I'm so glad that we were able to see Biggie and Carla interact and not just through her memories.
I'm a huge Trish Doller fan, and I really think this one is her best yet.
What I love about it is that layered in with a sweet and steamy romance between Clara and Eamon is Clara's coming to terms with her father who is dying from dementia. She has spent a long time avoiding it, but comes to realize that running away from emotions and difficult things might not be the answer. It feels so realistic the way Doller portrays death in all of her books, but this one felt especially poignant. Biggie (the father) is larger than life, and an adventurer, and also not without his own faults. His daughter Clara is also an adventurer, and tough as nails. I love that you get to see the sweetness in both these characters. And the main love interest, Eamon is also just a stand-up guy. Of course he's handsome, but he comes with his own baggage. He's also kind and unfailingly loyal to Clara. You root for all of these characters. You have a blast as they camp and surf and discover new landscapes. I couldn't recommend this book more.
Thank you NetGalley for the digital ARC of this book.
I got about 35% through the book before deciding I don't want to finish it.
My first problem with the book is that there is no buildup between the characters. They immediately get into bed with one another. I prefer more of a slow burn, or at least more of a chemistry build up.
My second issue is the main character. I felt like the author tried to hard to make her come off too adventurous and it just seemed like the MC was almost braggy about it.
This was my first Trish Doller novel, so it took me a while because I went back and read her other two books so I had an idea of what to expect writing wise. I love love love when authors allow us to continue another character's story in another book and I love that she did this here.
Having grown up without a dad, the father/daughter relationship definitely brought tears a couple of times. The love story is beautiful, on par with her other novels. I always struggle with romance because there are moments where I'm like, "that wouldn't ever actually happen" but I didn't feel that way too much with Off the Map. When you finish this book you'll 1) want to go try and find your own Eamon and 2) find a bunch of friends so you can fall in love with one of the best men.. it's bound to happen right??
I definitely will be buying a copy of this to share with my book club!
I enjoyed reading Off the Map! Eamon is such a cinnamon roll.
The story goes like this: Carla is heading to her best friend’s wedding, she meets Eamon, the brother of the groom, and the have this instant attraction leading to a hook up.
Off the Map was quick and quite enjoyable but I wasn’t a fan of the instant attraction since all throughout the romance I felt like something was missing. But the story did include the amazing setting of Ireland, which is always nice haha.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I’ve read her two previous books, and I enjoyed them both, but this one might take the cake! I loved them both, and I dare say this one is a little dirtier than the others. Which didn’t bother me a bit!! I was here for it!!!
This was my final read of 2022 and it could not have been a more perfect note on which to end my reading year!
I dug into this book despite not having read the previous two in the series and my enjoyment was not diminished in any way! So don't let it hold you back if you haven't read the others, although they are now on my to-read list. 😉
Carla Black loves to travel and hasn't met an adventure she'd shy away from. But through all of her trekking, is she running toward adventure or away from something else? Her latest trip brings her to Dublin for a friend's wedding, where she meets Eamon. I'm a sucker for books set in Ireland, and even more so for an Irish lad, so this was already shaping up to be an ideal read for me.
Ignoring some obvious issues--single solo female traveler making some pretty concerning decisions with a man she just met (albeit the brother of her friend's fiancé) felt a little icky and moved too quickly--I embraced the book with Carla's life motto: “here for a good time, not for a long time.” And this book indeed was a good time! I laughed, I cried, I felt a bit amorous *wink*.
