I loved this whole series and Off the Map was a perfect addition to the Beck Sisters Series. At first I wasn’t sure how I’d feel having a third book with the MC not one of the sisters but this tied in perfect! The main two characters had immediate chemistry and this book carried the same deep connection between characters that I loved in the other two books. It’s a total comfort read.
Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the ARC!
I pretty much knew I wasn’t the target for this story after reading a few pages. While well written the insta love situation and trite setup are not what I prefer. It’s not a bad book, it just didn’t stand out to me. It seems like a popular book which is great but not my preference. Still glad I tried it and would still tell others to give it a chance.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC
Off the Map was an adorable read with extremely lovable characters. There were happy and sad moments that felt so real and were beautifully written. I do wish there was more of a slow burn, once the book starts and very quickly jumps to their relationship it felt like there were pieces missing at times to make the quickness make sense. Overall, a good read!
Off the Map was a fun read, especially after reading Trish Doller’s first two books in this series. I loved the travel, Carla’s relationship with Biggie, and the return of Anna and Keane. The beginning of the book and Carla and Eamon’s relationship felt rushed. All in all though I would definitely recommend this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of Off the Map.
open door romance between two strangers - Carla and Eamon - traveling to a wedding in Ireland who are instantly attracted to each other. This is an adventure romance with evocative descriptions that will make you want to plan a trip to Ireland or the National Parks immediately.
Keep your Kleenex handy - the back end involves Carla dealing with her dad’s dementia. Overall, a sexy, beautiful sweep of emotions in a tight 272 pages.
Trish Doller does it again with Off the Map. As a fan of her previous books, I was so excited to see this one available on NetGalley.
When Carla, who is living her best life full of adventures with nothing to tie her down, travels to Dublin for her best friend's wedding, a wrench is thrown in her plans by the name of Eamon. Eamon is the opposite of Carla - mortgage, respectable career etc but is it everything Eamon wants (hint: it's not). After a whirlwind romance, Carla finds herself unable to shake the memories of Eamon and wondering if she did the right thing.
As Carla is left dealing with her father + his dementia she starts to wonder if her life of running is all it's cracked up to be.
I really enjoyed this read - Carla and Eamon had great chemistry and it had me wishing for an adventure of my own.
Thanks, NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
Another knockout by Trish Doller! I loved the story of Carla and Eamon and how it was all intertwined with the characters from Float Plan and The Suite Spot. The author has a way of writing that just sucks you in and makes you feel like you are right there in the story. I also think I’ve been moved to tears in each of the three books in this series so far. I finish each book wishing for a sequel about those specific characters because i just don’t want their story to end! Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!
Fun, lovely read. Similar in tone to The Float Plan, its characters have depth and the story has a lightness and humor to it.
As soon as I saw that Trish had another book coming out I knew I needed to get my hands on a copy. I enjoyed this one and I'm so glad that I got the chance to read it early! This author just has the best talent to write awesome books one after the other. I enjoyed the characters and enjoyed the writing by this author. I'm excited to see what the author comes out with next as I'll definitely be reading it! Thank you to the publisher for my early copy of this book!
In true Trish Doller fashion, Off the Map has the perfect amount of steamy romance and adventure! I received an advanced copy and it did not disappoint. Carla's adventures are easy to imagine. I do wish there had been more done about Carla's mother's absence and was kind of hoping it would surface in her return home to Fort Lauderdale to care for "Biggie." The characters are all likable but it might do other readers some good to read Beck Sisters #1 and #2. Looking forward to the next addition to the series.
I started Off the Map while waiting for a delayed flight, when I felt like I needed a pick-me-up to enjoy my weekend trip. I finished it while still out of town, sobbing while reading in my big hotel bed early in the morning. I love when I care enough about the characters in a book that they bring out the BIG EMOTIONS. Thank you, St Martin’s Griffin and NetGalley, for an ARC of this heart-wrenching romance in exchange for my honest opinion.
Carla, the best friend of Anna from Float Plan, is traveling to Ireland to attend Anna’s wedding to Keane. Eamon, Keane’s brother, is charged with picking up Carla in Dublin and giving her a ride to the wedding. Their journey to the wedding has many detours, which were an absolute pleasure to read about.
I identified with the female main character Carla and her focus on travels, always seeking a new experience or adventure, while avoiding reality like I can do. Having aging parents, I also identified with Carla’s attempt to honor her dad’s wishes and to value her time left with him.
I had high expectations for this book, knowing how much I enjoyed the previous two in the series, and it absolutely lived up to them. In fact, I can’t wait to re-read Float Plan and relive the beginning of Anna and Keane’s relationship now that I’ve read about their wedding! I highly recommend this romance if you’re looking for adventure, love, and strong family relationships.
I think I would have enjoyed this one more. If I had read books that were technically the companion novels to this one. But all in all in it was still a good read.
This book was VERY steam compared to her other books which I was not expecting. I also thought there wasn't much depth to this book. The characters were very unlikable in how little they cared about the wedding party they were a part of! Honestly, a huge disappointment and big miss for me. 1.5 rounded up to 2 stars.
Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the chance to read an early copy of “Off the Map.” I really enjoyed this book, although it is not as emotional a journey as the previous two in the series. “Off The Map” is the story of Carla, an American who travels to Ireland to celebrate her best friend’s wedding, and Eammon, who is the brother of the groom tasked with picking Carla up and transporting her to the wedding location. A brief detour before the wedding prompts some self-evaluation for both and love. I enjoyed the development of the emotional connection between Carla and Eammon (the physical connection is there from the start) and I liked the road trip portion as well. The writing is engaging and you will feel the urge to go camping in Ireland and South America by the end. The story works well as a standalone (although everyone should also read Float Plan and The suite Spot anyway because they are great!). Overall, I would recommend this book to readers of contemporary romance!
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for this eARC!
I really like this series, and this one, with its classic, fast burn rom-com setup (a wedding! a drive across Ireland! Adventures! Hot people!) is no exception. The last 1/3 had a real emotional punch, and I loooooved getting to go to Ireland.
Would love a ride in this particular Range Rover.
This was a cute quick read. I do think the ending was a bit too convenient, but I liked the characters, then nods to the previous books, and the first 2/3 were especially interesting.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks to St. Martin's Press for my advanced copy of Off the Map by Trish Doller. I loved both of Doller's previous books so was eagerly waiting for this one!
An Irish setting and the main character who has a National Parks Passport -- this book is meant for me.
I thought their travels around Ireland were fun and love the Sullivan brothers! This book was a little more about growth and family and home in a beautiful way.
I couldn’t wait to start this one as soon as it hit my Kindle. Trish Dollar has once again penned a romance novel that sucked me in and made it hard to put down. I loved the previous two books in the series, and excited doesn’t begin to cover my feelings for this one. The Suite Spot remains my favorite in the series, but all of these books are ones I would read over again.
Off the Map’s female protagonist is Carla Black, the best friend of the main character from Float Plan. When she travels to Ireland for her best friend’s wedding, she finds herself spending time with the brother of the groom Eamon, who’s at a crossroads of his own.
Carla and Eamon are both relatable and easy to root for main characters in the book. I loved the banter between them and the detours they take on the way to the wedding. There’s humor throughout the book, but there are also some heavy moments as she faces the reality of her father’s mortality.
I can’t say enough good things about this series. These books are written in a way that you could read them in any order, though you will see the characters from the previous books in the later ones.
Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have read every book by Trish Doller in the Beck Sisters series and this is by far my favorite and she’s not technically a Beck sister.
Carla is a wanderer because that’s what she was taught to do at an early age. But something is missing from her lifestyle. She’s fierce and tough so falling in love in Ireland wasn’t in her plan. Eamon is a straight laced guy that’s always done everything to make his mom proud. But he’s always had a dream to wander. These two are a match made in heaven and the story they create is beautiful.
I lovely romantic road trip with Carla and Eamon. I was hooked from their first meeting and enjoyed this story a lot. It was nice to revisit character from the two previous books, but this can be read as a standalone. The romantic story, the search for self, the way dementia is handled, as well as friendship were all well done. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion
