I received an advanced e-copy from NetGalley and I immediately checked Goodreads to see if this was in a series. I hadn’t read the first two books, so like the diligent student I am, I went back and downloaded the first two in the series and binge read them earlier this week. (Immediately obsessed with each of the stories!) Then today I literally sat down and read this in 4 hours straight after work.

I don’t give books 5/5 often but this had me crying real tears at the end so it truly earned it.

Each book in this series had a unique storyline and built characters so well! Without giving spoilers, let’s just say that scenes are set well.

Another review said that this could be a movie and I 100% agree- honestly all three of these books would make fantastic movies. Loved every second of this and couldn’t put it down. Highly recommend! And if you haven’t read the first two books in the series, read those too!!

Thank you to NetGalley for this arch!!!
3.5/5 🌟 stars

When I requested this book, I did not realize it was the third book in a series, so I was a little confused. This was a very interesting read, and I typically am not the type to enjoy an instant love kind of story, but this did fit the story very well. I enjoyed Carla and Eamon, and I believe their story was terrific; it was the perfect amount of funny, romantic, and relatable. I do need to go back and read the other two books, though, so I understand it a little better; although it can be read as a stand-alone, the plot between the first two books would have made the connections better.

Trish Doller has never done me wrong and this book was no exception. I was immediately engrossed in Carla and Eamon's story. It is so fun for me to live vicariously through her characters and their love of travel and nature...because lord knows I'm not going outside ever. The relationship between Carla and her dad had me in tears. I loved this book!

I enjoyed Trish Doller's first two books very much so I was really looking forward to this one. Although I liked this third book, it didn't quite match up to the other two. This story was about the best friend of the bride, Carla, and the brother of the groom, Eamon, traveling to a wedding in Ireland. Carla traveled with her father all her life and Eamon creates digital maps, so while they drove through Ireland they decide to go off the grid and have an adventure. The story line also includes Carla's father who is suffering from dementia. This was a fast moving romance and the story was entertaining but it was a little short on character development. Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

dnf @ 20% --- maybe i'll finish it eventually.

actual complaints:
1. i don't like having too many details on what the main girl looks like. not that i am inserting myself into the narrative, but i personally don't like when there's too many distinct physical characteristics that feel like a middle schoolers attempt at a writing exercise.
2. i don't like insta-lust and when they sleep together immediately. they can sleep together for plot reasons, but i think there shouldn't have been an on page sex scene until much later on. i think the first one should've been off-page. or not at all, to be honest. i don't think there was a good enough reason to include them sleeping together so early on.
3. the "pretend boyfriend at a bar" thing was entirely unnecessary. idk if it was meant to show that carla is non-confrontational or something, but it put a bad taste in my mouth.
4. why did eamon say "fucking" when he has been using "fecking" the entire time.......... if it was for emphasis, then i feel like it wasn't necessary for the context it was used

dumb things:
1. joshua tree. come on.
2. "jaysus" seriously.
3. "only if you promise not to fall in love with me" barf
4. "just do you know, feminism makes me hot" gross

thank you to st. martin's press and trish doller for the arc <3

Trish Doller writes complex and lovable characters every time, and I’m always here for it. This book had me chuckling, crying, and swishing my feet in both nervousness and glee.

When Carla Black arrives in Ireland for her best friend’s wedding, she expects it to be pretty standard fare. She’s spent most of her life on the go - first with her father, and now on her own, traveling the globe until funding forces her to stop and restock.

When Eamon - the brother of the groom - arrives to take Carla from airport to wedding venue, the two could hardly be more different. Never straying far from his roots, and stumbling through an unloved job, Eamon could use a little of whatever Carla’s running on.

But as the two hit it off, and their simple drive turns into a multi-day, multi-detour adventure, the two are forced to face what has really been motivating each of them all along - and whether they can overcome what’s holding them back. Together.

Off the Map is a great palate cleanser of a book. It was a quick read (I finished it in less than one day), and definitely bingeable. If you liked the first two books in the series, I think you will continue to enjoy the interconnected stories in this third iteration. The story gives some lol moments as well as some teary eyed moments, and it has a lot of emotion behind it.

That being said, the book also had some blah moments. I think this series peaked at Float Plan, and I definitely didn't enjoy this one as much. I found myself skimming some parts just to get to the end. That being said, it kept me entertained, but it also left me a bit unfulfilled.

While I'm glad I've continued with this series, I think this might be the last book I read in it (assuming more are published).

I'm going to be sad I've already read this book when it comes out in March! I'm so grateful for the ARC from NetGalley and the opportunity to read this gem. Trish Doller has a way of making you fall in love with her characters and their stories, and this one was no different...and might have beat out Float Plan as my favorite TD book. I adore Carla and her unique relationship with her dad, and love all she learns along her journey. Loved!

I didn't like this book as much as The Suite Spot by the same author. In this book the main character Carla goes to Ireland for her best friend's wedding. She meets Eamon who is picking her up. They have an instant connection and immediately fall into bed together. Instead of proceeding on to her friend's house to prepare for the wedding, they travel around Ireland having adventures along the way.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a copy of this book for review.

I didn't have very strong feelings for or against this book, it was fine. I had not read the previous books in this series, but you don't 'need to' in order to enjoy and follow this installment.

I love road trip stories, and being 'trapped together' but overall it felt like other stories I have read before. I will definitely try Trish Doller again though :)

This story pulled me right in - adventure, heart, and a great setting! I thoroughly enjoyed traveling all over Ireland with Carla and Eamon, who are both certainly far more adventurous than I am. Carla's relationship with her father and all the growth that happened there definitely had me choking back some tears. Whew! This was my first novel by Trish Doller, and I can't wait to read more of her work.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of “Off The Map” in exchange for an honest review. I wanted to love this one, and I was so excited for it. I loved the last installment. This one did not measure up to my experience of “The Suite Spot.” Maybe it’s because it took place in such a short period of time, but I felt like there was very little character development at all. I wish that the lust-filled scenes had been replaced with some conversation so I could get to care about the people. The entire novel felt like exposition. I loved the setting and descriptions of Ireland, and I felt like I was just settling into the book when it ended.

Wow, wow, wow.

I just finished reading it, and read the last probably thirty percent with a wad of tissues in my hand, but that's pretty standard for me with Trish's books. Carla and Eamon connect almost instantly when they meet and their chemistry is off the charts. They are the maid of honor and best man respectively in their best friends' wedding, and on the way they take a few detours. I love their travels and roadtrip mishaps, but beyond that...I love when they separate. Yeah, you read that right.

Eamon needs to live his life away from familial expectation and the shadow of his ex. Carla goes home to be with her dad -- the one who instilled the love for travel, and the one whose memory is slowly fading.

Trish always handles discussions of grief with a deft and gentle hand, and Off the Map is no different...however, it tackles what grief looks like when we haven't yet lost -- but know we are losing -- the ones we love. Dementia is often called The Long Goodbye, and we are able to see what that looks like through Carla's eyes and her experiences with her dad's dementia.

Definitely check the content warnings before going in, but you don't want to miss this one.

A TALE OF TWO BOOKS.

I have really enjoyed Doller’s previous two books and definitely jumped at the chance to read this when it hit my e-mail. And I have some THOUGHTS Y’ALL.

First half of the book:

We’ve got an insta-love + a one night stand (on repeat) situation. I was not of fan of this at all. It’s not necessary in my mind. I want to more than that. Some of the traveling was fun and gave me some wanderlust to see Ireland. When they were hanging out I liked those quieter moments and that some connection was at least being made between Eamon and Carla. Good nuggets about live and doing what you love too.

Second half of the book:

Then, around halfway a total script was flipped, and I felt like I was reading straight fiction. Granted, I loved the dementia storyline with Carla’s father and feeling that heartbreak and love and support. It was tender and pulled at all of my emotions. So this second half was not bad in the least, just wholly different than the first half. I missed Eamon.

I think if both of these main plot lines would have been woven together a bit better I would have enjoyed this more. I love Doller’s writing style and the ease of which I can fly through her books. There’s a great balance of heavier topics + romance that I am endeared towards and characters that are wonderful too. I was missing that woven feeling between everything to feel fully invested in both sides of this tale.

**Note, there is totally still a romantic HEA. That was never in question.

Overall audience notes:

Contemporary Romance
Language: some strong
Romance: multiple open door; medium explicit
Violence: low
Trigger/Content Warnings: taking care of a parent with dementia, parental abandonment

First, I love anything about the Irish countryside, it feels just as lovely as the UK small town romcoms that I love to sink in, especially around the holidays. I love the subplot of dementia and the emotions that go along with it...it's one that is sure to tug at my heartstrings. But, this still felt like I enjoyed it but didn't love it like her other two.

This is clearly a me thing, as I have already seen glowing reviews...I just needed morel or rather less (spice, insta love). That's a troupe that I always struggle with. Again, I say, it worked somewhat but maybe that's what held me back from being fully vested.

Recommend for a "book cleanser" fluffy book with spice.
Thanks to the publisher for the gifted copy in return for an honest review. Even if it was only a 3 star for me, I would still read whatever the author writes, I think it was just this story that didn't give me the 5 starts I expected.

thank you!

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's for the ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
A smile on my face from the first page to the last. Each book in this series has been 5 stars for me including this one. I love these characters! Fast-paced, read it in a few hours. I love the way she writes & how she incorporates the characters from the other books. Hopefully that will be the case in future....I mean, there are 5 more Sullivan kids' stories to tell ;)

This was such a fun read! I didn't know that I wanted to read Carla's story, but it turned out to be my favorite of the three in the Beck Sisters series.
Carla is in Ireland for Anna's wedding, and the minute she meets Eamon, the brother of the groom, sparks fly. Their adventures are magical, and Doller does a nice job in bringing to life the beauty of the countryside and its people. I love a good happy ending as much as the next sap, but I appreciate it even more when authors inject realism into plotlines. I loved that the main characters had to make some tough decisions, and that their happy ending wasn't necessarily guaranteed.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with the ARC.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for this advanced copy of Off The Map. It is the third installment in the Beck Sisters series, behind Float Plan and The Suite Spot. To be honest: I read the first two accidentally out of order and really liked SS while FP was ok. I was excited to get this copy early and was really disappointed. Previous characters barely make appearances and right off the bat the story revolves around the two characters meeting and then humping like rabbits the rest of the time. The end was sad, but I was so over the story at that point that I skimmed it to finish. Do yourself a favor and read The Suite Spot, and ditch the others.

This may be the best of the series yet. She gives you all the feels from sorrow to laughter (plus some sex lol). Solid series for me!
