I loved this book. It was adventurous, playful, and flirty, but also broken and sad—all of my favorite things in one book.

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this ARC.

I started and finished this book in one sitting. This book captivates you from the very first chapter and sucks you in until the very end. I could have lived in this world a little longer and I'd be happy 😊. Eamon seems like the perfect dude and swoon worthy... Not to mention Irish.

Worth the read and the re-read.

I did not know this was a series. I enjoyed the book but wish I had read them in order. That being said, I will go back and start the series now.

I love Trish Doller’s writing. She writes stories about grief and handling grief better than almost anyone and this was no exception.

Carla Black doesn’t do ties. She spends her life traveling and then working as a bartender to afford more travel. She doesn’t want to be tied to one spot. When she travels to Ireland for the wedding of her best friend, she meets the best man, Eamon Sullivan at a bar and is instantly drawn to him. Their connection is immediate and they decide to have a good time between the time they met and on the journey to the wedding including various stops for off reading and hiking adventures. The problem is that once the wedding is over they both agreed they would go their on separate ways. It’s what Carla has always done so why is it so hard to do this time?

This book was fun and whimsical. I loved the immediate connection between the two leads so we didn’t have some long drawn out pining where they get together for two chapters. Trish takes the reader on their adventures and describes each location with such detail I felt I was there with them. This book is a short, easy read and I blew through it in one sitting which I love.. I got sucked into this world and these adventures and didn’t want to leave.

This book is definitely very similar to Float Plan but that didn’t really bother me. I l over Float Plan and this one was different enough it held my interest. You also gotta love those Sullivan brothers. Keane in Float Plan and not Eamon in this one are just so dreamy you can’t help but love them.

There are definitely some things that seemed brushed over in this book. She hits on some major topics and issues but never really delves into them. It would have been nice if the book was a little longer and we had gotten to see more of the characters actually dealing with some of the issues they confront.

But overall, this is a solid 4 star read and I would definitely recommend checking it out especially if you enjoyed Float Plan.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Off the Map was a fun and delightful to read. It made me want to go out, buy an old jeep wrangler and set off across this this beautiful country and explore .. oh to be in my thirties again and free spirited.

Carla Black had the best friend and mentor in her life, her dad “Biggie”. As a child Carla was abandon by her mom, not know what to do with this little girl every summer, Biggie would take Carla on the most wonderful and beautiful adventures in his vintage Jeep Wrangler, Valentina. He taught her that life needed to be lived and so their motto became “here for a good time, not for a long time.”. Biggie can no longer have these wonderful adventures with his daughter, he is in early stages of dementia, but he made Carla promise to carry on without him. So now she works six months as a bartender so she can travel her hearts content in Valentina. This summer plans are a little different, she off to Ireland to attend her friend Anna Beck and Keane Sullivan’s wedding .. you remember them from the first Beck Sister’s novel Float Plan.

Eamon Sullivan is Keane’s brother, he is best man, obedient son .. to a fault, has a great job as a cartographer drawing maps that others use to travel .. to places he has never been. Oh did I mentions he is handsome, tall and very sexy. Now he is at “the Confession Box” a local pub in Dublin to pick up Carla and drive them both to Tralee for the wedding. These two have an immediate attraction to each .. a physical lustful attraction that neither have had before and not used to.

So, what happens when you put a hot Irishman together with free spirited and very sexy Carla and you have a few days to spare before you have to be in Tralee? You go Off Roading in Eamon Sullivan’s pale yellow Lan Rover Series III. Oh, Let the adventures begin!

Off the Map was sweet, made me laugh and knowing that Carla did not do relationships it just made me cheers for Carla and Eamon even more. While this novel dealt with dementia and dealing with the loss of a parent it does have a HEA. Giving this novel 4 ½ stars .. only because I much prefer a slow burn to an immediate steamy relationship. Bravo Trish Doller this was such a fun read, and I just loved the book.

Thank you, Trish Doller, St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. This novel is due to be released on March 7. 2023.

I loved this book, and highly recommend picking it up. Trish Doller is one of my forever pre-order, always-buy authors and she is the queen of writing stories that make you wiggle in your cozy reading corner with happiness while tears of profound sadness stream down your face.

Off the Map follows Carla and Eamon as they travel through Ireland to make it on time to Anna and Keane's (from Float Plan) wedding. Carla is a free-spirited wanderer who grew up traveling with her beloved single father. Eamon is a steadfast, reliable professional who always does the right thing. When they meet, Eamon starts to realize that while his life may fit the stereotypical mold, the mold no longer fits him.  Thanks to Carla, they make detour after detour (some purposeful, some not) as they escape his suffocating life and her untethered one, discovering each other and themselves along the way.

This book is pure fun. Traveling through Ireland with a hot man? Sign me up. At the same time you're falling love, Trish really makes you feel the struggle and pain that accompanies building your dream life, trying to find your passion, and navigating relationships with those you love the most. She is a wonderful writer who seamlessly connects you with her characters from the beginning. I appreciated being able to check in on our favorites from other novels, and including the National Parks Passport book was such a tiny nice, niche touch. It made me want to go on vacation with those I love the most, and what more could you ask for?

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC!

Trish Doller has done it again!
Loved this book, third in the series.
Anna’s bff Carla and Anna’s hubby Keane’s brother Eamon are characters you can’t help but root for as they figure out their individual paths and their path together.
I can’t wait to see which other characters might have their own love stories in the future!

It amazes me how the author, Trish Doller, can take some very thought-provoking, and at times heart wrenching, real life issues and weave them effortlessly into a romantic fairytale-like love story. Plus have it be so meaningful but not too heavy and yet still give it all the respect it deserves.
The adventures and fulfilment of dreams that permeate all of Trish Doller’s books, including this one, is addictive and infectious!
Well done!
Thankyou to Author Trish Doller, Netgalley and St Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this book!

3.5 stars…This was pretty enjoyable! I like that this author is able to write a romance that still manages to deal with heavier issues and show actual character growth.

I still think Float Plan is the best book out of the three in this series. In this one, Anna’s best friend sets out to join her in Ireland for her wedding. Along the way, she meets and falls in lust with the best man. I’ll admit that that actually annoyed me. Instalust always annoys me in romances. Seriously, you have to start with more than that.
And after the mostly closed door aspect of the past two, I was not prepared for these two to be falling into bed at every possible opportunity. I think that definitely diminished the believability of their supposed eternal love. What I did really like was that the characters were direct and honest with each other and encouraged each other towards maturity.

Along those lines, I do appreciate that there was growth shown in the characters. A 33 yr old woman maybe shouldn’t be running from everything that smacks of stability and commitment and a man around the same age should be able to stand on his own two feet and make his own decisions. It was good to see these two break out of unhealthy patterns.

One thing that has consistently been an issue in all three of these books is the ending. They’re just always abrupt. I’m always a little baffled by how quickly the climax arrives only to be followed by a chapter or two of wrap up that leaves me wanting just a bit more to make it believable. However, it’s not annoying enough to make me stop following this author and continuing to pick up her books for an enjoyable lighter read.

Yes!! (Happy Dance) Trish Doller was able to recreate the magic of her first novel "Float Plan" with her latest novel "Off the Map". "Float Plan" remains one of my favorite books in recent years and to be perfectly honest I was somewhat disappointed in her second novel 'The Suite Spot'. The Suite Spot wasn't awful it just didn't have the soul that 'Float Plan' delivered. After reading "Off the Map" I think what I missed the most about "The Suite Spot" was the element of travel and adventure. I wasn't sure if "Float Plan" just set the bar too high for me but after devouring her third novel I can say that Trish Doller is perfecting her formula and writing style and I am here for it!!! Sign me up for books #4 and #5 because she delivered everything I look for in a romance novel multiple times now!!! Carla and Eamon's love story was full of heart and adventure. I loved how they complimented each other and were able to be so honest with one another right off the bat. It is the kind of love story I enjoy reading. Trish Doller's is so great at writing love stories with exciting locales and adventures for days. I can visualize these amazing locations and her characters wanderlust is contagious. It is hard not to fall in love with not only her characters but the travel locations she is able to bring to life in her writing. What surprised me the most about this novel was the secondary story of love between Carla and her Dad. Without giving away any of the plot let me just say that Trish Doller handled this storyline so tenderly and authentically and it will resonate with me for many years to come. If you loved the Float Plan as much as I did, then read this!!!! This will be in my top reads for 2023 for sure.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and St. Martins Griffin Publishers for allowing me to read ARC of "Off the Map" in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. (I was dying to read this one!!!) Thank you to Trish Doller for delivering another amazing book and taking her readers on a fun adventure with these characters!!! 5 Stars!

Thanks to the publisher & Netgalley for the complimentary e-ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

I’m starting this review in a brutally honest way & saying that I thought book 1 in this series was really good, book 2 was a slog for me, & book 3–excluding a quibble or two I had at the end of this book—had me saying OH MY THIS IS FUN from the first time the MCs meet. Definitely by the end of their encounter, when they hook up for the first time.

Eamon Sullivan is supposed to be accompanying Carla Black on a trip across Ireland for his brother & her BFF’s wedding. But sparks fly in a major way when they meet & after setting the sheets, the bed, the room, that entire side of Ireland on fire with their sexytimes, & after realizing how much pleasure they take in each other, they prolong their road trip in fun random adventures along the way.

Off the Map portrays instant attraction & companionship in a beautiful & striking way—I totally believed that they were hot for each other, that they liked each other, & that it was love too.

This book feels like it came to me at the right time & I embraced the heck out of this road trip romp.

With that being said, there is a sadder story underpinning the book. Carla’s beloved dad has dementia & there is loss & grief on page—see my CW below for more on this. I didn’t totally love how it functions in the plot but the story of their relationship overall is touching & explains Carla’s love of travel.

Off the Map was a bubble book for me in terms of reading Trish Doller. Will I be back for more now? You betcha.

4.5⭐️. Out 03/07.

CWs: Dad has dementia & dies at the end of the book.

This book was great! I read it in two sittings in a matter of hours. Both MCs were like able and relatable. Carla coming to terms and dealing with her fathers dementia was heartbreaking but also beautiful. I don’t usually love the instant love trope but honestly it worked so well here. Definitely pick this one up!

What I read: Off the Map by Trish Doller

Why I picked it up: I read the first two in this series earlier this year and was delighted by both Float Plan and The Suite Spot so I went looking for the 3rd on netGalley.

How I read it: The ARC on Kindle today – when I sat down with it before Mass, I knew I would be delighted by it and finish it in one day.

What it’s about: Carla is headed to Ireland for Anne’s wedding (the story from book #1) and the groom’s brother, Eamon, is set to pick her up. Things go very well from the beginning – but when both of them get in a little too deep, it rocks Carla to the core.

What I liked: I loved her philosophy about travel, and even more so when she realized she could change it and didn’t need to be so tightly attached to what worked for her dad.

What I disliked: She stayed away from her dad’s for six years because he didn’t want her to see him deteriorate from dementia. I can see how that is a super hard thing to endure, but also a time when those you love want to come in closer.

Genre: Travel, open door romance, Ireland.

Rating & Recommendation: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and yes – the other two books aren’t super necessary, but I think that Float Plan will help you out if you read it before this one. Although the 2nd on in the series is my favorite.

I just fell even more in love with Doller's writing!

Off the Map by Trish Doller was a very enjoyable fun and loving story!

Her ability to create relatable, loveable characters is really something special and the connection they engage in is always perfection.
I become fully invested in their personal growth as well as their romantic entanglements.
Eamon and Carla were such fun to spend my time with on their adventure to self-discovery.
I also really loved the atmosphere of this novel, it's was done so well.
The romance, writing style and wit in this book is second to none. I have nothing but praise for this book!
A book that will make you fall head over heels in love and lead to an epic book hangover!
The plot and story were well thought out and the execution was perfection.
A fun and entertaining tale right from the first page.

This was a fun book. I've read Float Plan (book 1 in the series) but I didn't realize there was a second book. I'll have to read that soon.

This book is a romance but my favorite relationship was actually the main female character's with her dad. It was so well written and it added to her character.

The romance was good, but unfortunately not my favorite. I think part of the problem is that I was more invested in the father-daughter relationship. That being said I love Carla and Eamon together. It was just overshadowed.

Because it was overshadowed I did have to take a star off my rating. I read it because I was expecting a romance, and while I did get one, the plot focuses more on Carla overcoming her commitment issues.

Speaking of, Carla's character development was phenomenal. She had to have those tough conversations with people in order to learn about herself and change for the better. It got emotional at times and I definitely cried.

Overall this is a great book. Thank you again to the publishers.

Off The Map was such a fun, rompy read! Carla is a world traveler, working odd jobs to allow an intrepid lifestyle. Eamon longs for adventure but falls into the role of responsible older brother to please his mother. When these two drive to their sibling's/friend's wedding, they take a lot of detours, exploring Ireland. What I loved about these characters is how open they are with each other. They show their true selves to each other, believing it to be low risk since it's only a fling, but of course, their feelings go wildly off the map. This story is low angst and medium/high heat with a lot of heart and self-discovery and learning to take risks with your dreams and your heart. Five stars from me!

Off THE Map by Trish Doller was a delightful novel filled with adventure and romance. Carla and Eamon met when he was to escort her to a wedding in Dublin. The attraction between them was hot and immediate and they decided to take the long way to the wedding, which to my delight was between characters from her previous novel! Absolutely loved this book, don't miss it! Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

Carla comes to Ireland to be the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding. She is picked up at the airport by the groom’s brother & they head towards the wedding. However things don’t go smoothly on the way there.

I did not like this book, and maybe it’s because I’m not a fan of the instant love trope. I feel like nothing in their relationship was earned it just happened.

I did like Carla coming to terms with her father’s dementia. Perhaps if that had been the main focus of the book rather than the romance I would have enjoyed it more.

I enjoyed this book! I did not realize when I received this book it was the third series, but it did not matter. The plot picks up right at the beginning, it was fast paced with no downtime. If you need an easy, light read that has a focus on travel, this is the book for you! I now plan on reading the first two books in the series.

Loved the first in this series (The Float Plan), and knew this would be great as well. Carla and Eamon have the perfect meet cute that quickly turns into so much more, and the ensuing adventures make for a fun read.

Here's to the family you meet along the way.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher!
