I absolutely adore this book and series! The characters are so likable and it’s touching and fun. Definitely a must read story about adventure, love and life.

I loved this book! Not just because they character reminds me of my sister and her yellow jeep, but also because it was so relatable. The writing was whitty, romantic and fun! I loved Carla and her story with her dad. Unfortunately it reminds me of my grandma. Carla also was just swept off her feet and I loved that about this story. It was a book that is number 3 in the series, however I felt like it stood alone very well. I didn’t feel like I needed to read the others in order to understand this book. Definitely recommend and I’ll be making sure our library gets all the series when this comes out.

Sweet and spicy fun story, easy to read and so enjoyable. Carla and Eamon are a great couple. Each is dealing with their own personal wishes and fears. As they travel and adventure together on the way to a wedding in Ireland, so many things become clear for them.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was unexpectedly beautiful. I knew going in that I enjoyed this author's writing so that was no surprise.

But what I do love is that in this book you get real and raw emotions. These people are not perfect. They don't try to be perfect. They have struggles and they have difficulties and you get to see them. You see them working independently as well as together as a couple. I love when a romance story does this.

This book has moments that made me laugh 😂 and moments that were making me tear up a little😢 and it also had some spicy moments as well.

Watching Carla as she struggles to take care of her ailing dad and all of the difficulties that entails was incredible to read. It was beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time and watching how she handles it really helps build her character as an individual. I loved watching the growth you see from this difficult time in her life.

After tearing up for the last few chapters of the book, I loved reading the beautiful ending that these characters were given.

Thank you so much to NetGalley in St. Martin's Press for a digital copy of this book.

I loved this. I adored The Suite Spot, so I was not surprised to enjoy this book from the very first chapter. As someone that rarely gets out of her comfort zone, I love reading about people’s adventures and travels. Clara was just the right dose of spontaneous. What really hooked me is the main characters’ first meeting: there is something so magical about feeling comfortable with someone you just met. I enjoyed reading about them getting to know each other and the detours they took on the road to a wedding. Eamon was such a great character and his dilemma of wanting to be spontaneous but with a plan was very relatable. He was very well written and made me swoon. The love the two characters share is palpable throughout the book and you can really see that their individual growth is inspired by the other person. They’re adorable. The only note I would have is that the story with Eamon and the one with her father very much feel like two separate things. When we were learning about Clara and Biggie, I kept forgetting about Eamon until he came back at the end. I feel like the two plots are battling to be the main one, but neither win and it just feels like the story is fractured. Other than that, I loved the story.

♥️Trish Doller is one of my favorite authors. She has an outstanding talent to write books full of heart and raw emotion that sweeps you off your feet from the first page. I loved Float Plan, and I loved The Suite Spot, and now I’m absolutely in love with her new book. I think this is by far the best one out of the three, and not only because it was spicy.🥵

This story is fun, very sexy, and heartbreaking. Carla and Eamon’s adventure and their instant chemistry are remarkable. The heartfelt relationship between Carla with her father, Biggie, broke and healed my heart (if such a thing is possible).

I adored this book, and I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to buy it and placed it on my bookshelf next to Trish Doller's other two (adult) novels. I wish it was out before this Christmas so I could gift it to all of my friends.♥️

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, Trish Doller for an ARC.

I may have enjoyed this book the most out of the series, which is surprising since Carla technically isn’t even a Beck sister. What can I say, I love a good Irish backdrop. Carla was a little bit “cool girl” energy but not so much that it bothered me.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and jumped at the opportunity to read the ARC.

Carla was a friend character introduced in the first book. She is a waitress/world traveler from Florida. We learn that Carla got her wanderlust from her single father who is now declining from dementia. She lands in Ireland to be the Maid of Honor at Anna and Keane’s wedding. Keane’s brother Eamon is to drive Carla to the wedding, so naturally the decide to meet at a pub instead of the airport. While Carla is waiting for Keane she gets hit on by a guy at the bar. This sets up the meet cute where Carla kisses Keane when he walks in to discourage the guy at the bar. They click immediately and don’t make it further than Eamon’s house the first night.

The best part of the book, however is the roundabout trip they take together on the way to the wedding. Hiking, camping, off-roaring, and the hilarious run in with a bull. They even rope in the bride and groom towards the end for a surfing side trip. I loved this adventure!

But as Carla opens her heart, she realizes she can no longer accept her dad’s wish that she not be around him as he declines. So instead of continuing their adventure with Eamon, she heads home to her dad. The scene where she walks in and her step-mother needs a break is one of the most real descriptions of caregiving I have seen in a book. Carla’s adventures with her dad over the next few days are sweet and funny and heartbreaking at the same time.

The book delivers a happily ever after with a bit of a small caveat. But it is the perfect ending for this book.

This is one of my favorite reads this year!

I am thankful for the electronic copy of the book that I received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Trish Doller is making a name for herself in the rom-com arena. Her latest novel, Off the Map is yet another fun and delightful novel. Carla is headed to Ireland to be the maid-of-honor. A traveler her entire life, Carla lives for excitement and adventure and craves spontaneity. Once in Dublin, she’s paired with the groom’s brother Eamon to deliver her from the airport to the wedding venue. One detour after another allows Carla and Eamon to set off on one of life’s greatest journeys as they both discover pieces of themselves they had buried. With prompting from Carla, Eamon sets off to see some of his bucket-list locations. Meanwhile, Carla discovers that there might be parts of her own life she left behind on her quest to seek adventure. Intertwined with a sweet romance storyline, Off the Map was a fantastic read. I loved the underlying message and ideas that there are many ways to live an exciting life and that everyone’s definition of success can be different. I know that Carla’s story will stick with me for quite some time!

A sincere thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Off the Map
(Beck Sisters #3)
Trish Doller
5⭐️

Another absolute winner by Trish Doller. I loved the Float Plan and The Suite Spot so much. As soon as I saw that Carla (the honorary Beck sister) would be getting a book, I could not wait to read it. No lie I stalked NetGalley daily for this one. I literally screamed when I got an email from SMP Romance. I couldn’t click that widget fast enough.

“Because never once have I ever met anyone who makes me feel the way you do, immediately and wholly,” he says. “You make me happy. You make me wild. And I don’t think I’ll ever get you out of my system.”

Off the Map was amazing. I loved every moment of Carla and Eamon’s story of adventure and romance from beginning to end. The instant connection and chemistry between these two was outstanding and oh so 🔥.

Carla Black’s life motto is “here for a good time, not a long time.” She’s a free spirit who travels the world in a vintage Jeep Wrangler. I insta loved her for the Jeep fact alone. 😆 Eamon Sullivan creates digital maps. He helps people find their way, yet he’s the one who’s lost his sense of direction. When fate throws them together, what should have been a simple roadtrip across Ireland, becomes so much more.

I adored the relationship between Carla and her father Biggie. It was so sweet and heartwarming.

All the feels in this beautifully written story and you absolutely must read it! It can be read as a standalone but I urge you to read books one and two. You wont regret it.

Thank you so much @smpromance for the gifted eARC. I loved it so much, and cannot wait to get this gorgeous book on my shelves.

I loved them both so much. They were so great. I loved their background history and their chemistry, the love and support for one another, the angst, the push and pull, the sexual tension between them, everything was so well executed by the author. The characters were not perfect, they had their own struggles and obstacles they had to overcome before they came to the realization that they are better together than apart. I’m so happy with how everything wrapped up at the end. It was such an enjoyable book.

Thank you Net Galley and St Martin’s Griffin Publishing for the opportunity to read this book pre-release!

Carla Black is an adventure loving, Jeep driving, woman who’s traveling to Ireland for her best friends wedding. She hits it off with the best man and they adventure around Ireland together while they carpool to the wedding. She insists it’s just a fling but it ~quickly~ escalates to more than that. She’s battling with guilt of not taking care of her father that has been diagnosed with dementia for the past several years.

I just wasn’t crazy about Carla, she started to irritate me and didn’t quite redeem herself by the end. I liked Eamonn when we met him in book 1 but his “baggage” in this book is that he’s a 30 something year old guy that doesn’t want to live his dreams because he’s scared of disappointing his mother?? You’re 30 something, Eamonn! Why are you held down by something you’ve never even discussed with your mother??

Anyways, I appreciated her and Eamonn’s “fling” because they were so comfortable with each other but everything was so rushed. I wanted this book to make me dream about visiting Ireland but sadly I didn’t really feel that after this. I know Trish Doller can do it because it was done with the first two books.

This one is worth the read if you read the other two books, but it’s not the best in the series.

5 stars! ⭐️

I enjoyed this book so much! Cozy, romantic, funny and heartfelt. I liked Carla and Eamon together, but I especially loved Carla’s relationship with her father, Biggie.

“‘You only get so many trips around the sun,’ he said, tapping his first two fingers against his temple. ;And some of us don’t even get to keep the memories until our lights go out.”

Trish Doller is definitely an auto buy author for me after this book! Can’t wait to add a physical copy of this book to my shelf.

Thank you NetGalley for my advanced readers copy.

Oh my, did this book have everything I love all wrapped into one! As someone who loves Irish culture, backpacking/hiking/camper van-ing, and travel, this was just the best, quick read ever.

Carla Black is a girl from Fort Lauderdale who bartends throughout the year to save up enough money to travel freely as she wishes in her van, Valentina. She doesn't do relationships - she does the open road without a plan. She travels to Ireland to be the maid of honor in her best friend's wedding, where she meets the best man, Eamon. With Carla's love for "taking the road less traveled" and spontaneity, the two take several detours on the way to the wedding, and fall in love on the way.

I realize I'm a bit out of order in this series, but I cannot WAIT to go back and read the rest of the series! It was so special to learn more about backpacking, what it's like to travel throughout the year, and as someone who studied abroad in Ireland for a time, the lessons about Ireland were so accurate (loved seeing all of the lingo show up)! And the love between Eamon and Carla is so pure from the outset - their humor, the lovable sarcasm between them, the sparks and passionate connection...it was a joy to read.

Finished this beauty in one day! I was provided this eBook by NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Off the Map is book 3 in the Beck Sisters series that asks the question, when you travel are you running to or from something?

It’s no surprise after loving books 1 and 2, I loved book 3. @trish does an amazing job of three dimensional characters with real world problems and relationships, drawing in the reader to root for the characters.

Carla, Anna’s coworker, and Eamon, Keane’s brother are paired up when Carla arrives in Ireland for her best friend’s wedding and Eamon is her ride. What starts out as a meet cute in a Dublin Pub quickly becomes a life lesson in doing what you want with who you want

Carla is a traveler, taking her jeep Valentina all over North America. She started camping with her Dad and then on her own. Eamon is type who wants to be the good son/boyfriend and dreams of a life in the road, but instead has his office job and just his Land Rover that’s in a garage.

When the two meet, they have more in common than they realize. During their trek to the wedding, the two share stories and experiences and a literal bull on a farm. 😀

Without giving more away, I loved the story of pursuing your dreams of travel. Both characters are working through the proverbial box they’ve put themselves in. As a reader I was drawn to their family stories and how they came to present.

A great mix of a character novel with steam, Trish Doller has given us an amazing book 3 in this series.

There’s not much I can say about this story other than I loved it. It started off strong and maintained a good pace (its short and sweet). Both of the leads are wonderful people who compliment one another. It made me smile at times and almost want to cry at others. I also enjoyed reading Float Plan, so I’m not that surprised by how much I liked this. Thank you St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to do an early read.

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martin's press for allowing me to read the eARC of Off the Map in exchange for my honest review.

I don't really know how to feel about this book, to be totally honest. I didn't love it but I also didn't hate it. I just found it to be alright. I think my biggest issue with the book is how fast the two main characters fell into bed with each other, not that there is anything morally wrong with sleeping someone quickly, it just sucked out all of the tension and build up that I crave when it comes to romance novels.

I just didn't find Carla that relatable as a main character. I couldn't imagine traveling the world while leaving someone I loved who is going through a serious medical issue at home. I know people have to live their lives, but as she was depicted as being super close with her father it just doesn't make sense that she would take off around the world and not want to be close to him. She just seemed like one of those "i'm not like other girls" type of women and I just couldn't relate to her at all.

Although Carla did go through some growth during the book, it wasn't enough to keep me engaged.

I wanted to love this. I truly did. I enjoyed the first two books in this series immensely but this one just didn't work for me this time around.

Carla Black is heading to Ireland to attend her best friends wedding. She is being met in Dublin by the best man, Eamon, they choose a local pub to meet at, they'll spend the night at his place, and then he'll drive her across the country to Tralee where the wedding is being held.

At the pub the two instantly hit it off. I don't know if I'd call this insta-love but it is definitely insta-lust for sure. These two are already between the sheets after a couple of hours and a couple of drinks.

And that was my first problem.

There was absolutely no build up to this relationship. None. They meet and then their in bed together. One of the things I enjoyed about the previous two books was the slow burn build up even though in book two I complained that their relationship came together too easily well this one put my complaint to shame. There was no time at all to build any kind of chemistry between the two and I just wasn't feeling these two as a couple at all. These are grown adults but it felt more like two horny teenagers.

And that was my second problem.

This book is spicy with wide open door scenes. I know a lot of people do not have a problem with this but I am not that reader. I don't want all the dirty details. The previous two books were sweet and charming and the bedroom scenes were mostly left to the imagination. Not here. These two are constantly having sex and I just....no. Needless to say I cringed a lot.

And now for my third problem.

What happened to the vulnerability of the characters? In the two previous books the characters had all suffered trauma in some way or another but here? Eamon's a mamma's boy and Carla was raised by a single dad, who was the most amazing dad a person could ask for, so it was hard to muster much sympathy for them. Yes, Carla's dad is currently suffering from dementia. Yet, when he was diagnosed 10 years before she hopped in her Jeep and traveled the world and has yet to return to see him. Yes, he did tell her to do it so she wouldn't be witness to his deteriorating mind but I couldn't imagine doing that to my own father. It seemed so selfish to me that I actually started to dislike Carla quite a bit.

And onto my fourth problem.

I didn't really like Carla or Eamon. In the previous books the cast of characters were all so lovable. Here, we basically have just Carla and Eamon traveling together which doesn't leave much room for other characters. I was hoping once we finally got to the wedding and some of the previous characters came back into play my heart would alight. Alas, the wedding was off page and there was maybe a chapter dedicated to them all reuniting. So disappointing.

Toward the end this book did take an emotional turn and it was my favorite part of the book but it was not enough to save everything that came before it.

I don't believe the Beck sisters series needed to add an honorary member in the form of Carla Black. It would be my recommendation to stick with the first two books and to leave this one off the TBR shelf. 2 stars!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for my complimentary copy.

4 stars. There was a lot that I enjoyed about Off the Map, and some parts of the book really pulled at my emotional heartstrings. But it lost a little of its luster because I felt it was almost too similar to Float Plan, except instead of sailing across the Caribbean, the couple was off-roading across Ireland. It’s not a bad thing for an author to have a signature style or formula that works for them (and this formula certainly works), but it just felt a smidge less special or unique because of it. With that said, there were parts of Off the Map that did feel special, and one of those was the relationship between Carla and Biggie. I know that first and foremost, this is a romance. But I love when romance books are more than romances. When characters show growth and when you get insights into the non-romantic relationships as well. The relationship with Carla and Biggie was truly so touching, it had me in tears. And may have overshadowed the romantic relationship, which was a little insta-lovey. But I lived for the Carla/ Biggie flashbacks, and their scenes in the last 3rd of the book. All in all, I think fans of Float Plan will enjoy this one! Off the Map felt like the last book in this series, but if the author does decide to write more, I will absolutely be reading them!

Thank you so much to the author and SMP romance for the ARC!!

This is a fast, fun read.

Carla Black works as a bartender from November through April and then travels wherever her heart desires. She doesn’t do relationships. She’s in Ireland for her best friend’s wedding, and the brother of the groom meets her to take her from Dublin to Tralee. Carla and Eamon have immediate attraction to each other, but it’s not just the physical lust she’s used to.

Eamon has always been the dutiful son, getting a good job as a cartographer to help other people find where they’re going without ever hitting the road himself. With Carla’s love for exploring, they decide to take a few detours, taking a few days instead of a few hours to get where they’re going.

This is mostly cute and at one point sad. I enjoyed it enough that I’m going to read the first two books in the series. This one read fine as a standalone.

NetGalley provided an advance reader copy of this novel, which RELEASES MARCH 7, 2023.
