Loved this book. It delighted and gave me a lift from beginning to end. Eamon, Carla and Biggie (who must be included, as his character is, as his name indicates, a large presence in this story) find their way, not only by way of traveling adventures, but to their hearts contentment. So much warmth, heartache, humor, romance and their HEA is woven throughout this book. A lovely read and definite addition to your TBR list.

My biggest issue with this story was the “insta-love”, especially one that seems to be a physically based relationship. For me, I personally love when an author takes the time to establish and develop two characters' relationships on an emotional one rather than a physical one. I did have a hard time seeing Eamon and Carla as a realistic couple based on how quickly they “fell in love” with one another.

Carla and Ramon both had a lot of emotional baggage that they really didn’t deal with. They had superficial conversation and it felt as if years of unresolved issues were solved with one simple conversation. I understand where the author wanted to go with this book, but for me it was a rough ride getting there and I didn’t have the same connection as other readers did to this story. Thank you to NetGalley and St Martins Griffin for this ARC

When I started this series, I stumbled upon Float Plan expecting something different. But it was a wonderful story of self exploration, healing from grief, and romance. Off the Map very much continued those themes. While it started off as a fling between Eamon and Carla, with some hilarious adventures as they drove across Ireland, I think the main theme is finding yourself. I love the aspect of found family and that the characters search for and find themselves and but then find a way to open up to love.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Off the Map is a lovely little read, full of adventure, heart, and personal growth. Carla is full of wanderlust, thanks to her dad who started taking her on trips after her mom left her at the age of five. We meet Carla while she’s visiting Ireland for her best friend’s wedding, where she meets Eamon, the best man. Together they embark upon new adventures, each while reconciling their own struggles; Carla accepting her dad’s dementia diagnosis, and Eamon, finally going for what he wants in life, rather than being confined to the expectations of what he should be.

I loved reading all about Carla’s travels. The character development was so well executed, I genuinely liked and cared about every single character. Off the Map is a refreshing, breezy read - and yet I actually teared up a few times throughout! Particularly during the scenes with Carla and her father. If you like Rom-Coms, I recommend Off the Map.

I think the author did a great job with the character development and describing the characters- I felt like I knew them. In the beginning of this story, with the characters traveling through Ireland- it reminded me of elements in the movie ‘Leap Year’ with Amy Adam’s traveling through Ireland.

I overall enjoyed this rom com and will be looking into more books written by this author.

This is a delightful story, especially for those of us with wanderlust. Carla sort of has a dream existence. The very real situation of her father’s dementia, however, is not dreamy, not at all. Stella’s approach to dealing with Biggie was wonderful. A+ on character development! Recommended for public libraries.

Trish Doller just gets better and better with each book! It’s not necessarily the plot that draws you in, but the amazing way she writes characters and makes them real. I laugh and cry and feel satisfied by the end of the book. And I look forward to the next one!

Off the Map made me blush, laugh and cry. This is a great story of adventure that makes you fall in love with all the characters involved and a little jealous of the great travel experience. This book is an easy read with a great flow that makes you want more until you know everything that’s going to happen. Great story, highly recommend!

I could have read about Eamon and Carla for like 500 more pages, I loved them as individuals, as well as together. They have some intense chemistry with each other. The way Eamon reacts to Carla and basically worships her is super sexy, everyone should have an Eamon in their lives :P

The roadtrip these two take is so much fun to read about, it makes the reader want to go on adventure to! Especially with an attractive Irishman *wink wink*. Both of these characters are fully flushed out, and have their own back stories that you learn about as the book goes on. You start to understand why each are the way that they are, and you watch them learn from each other. They realize through getting to know the other how much their lives need a change.

Carla's relationship with her Dad really got to me. I will admit I may have cried...but if you tell anyone I will deny it :P Carla is so close with her father, growing up in such a loving, fantasical way. The grief she feels being pushed away by him because of his diagnosis is palpable. She needed Eamon to come in to her life at that moment so she could realize how much she really needed to go to her father, despite his demand she didn't. Despite him not wanting her to experience his decline. So heartbreaking, honestly.

Like I said, I could have read so many more pages about these two and their families, I love them that much. They way this book ended was just perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley, for an advanced copy of Off the Map by Trish Doller.

I read this one in almost one sitting. My fault for starting it when I was exhausted!! Let me preface by saying that I haven't read the other two books in this series, and I absolutely can't wait to go back and read them. I didn't feel as if I was missing anything from the other two except for maybe a bit of the backstory on a couple of the side characters. Off the Map had it all. It had spice, laughter, and tears. If you're looking for a quick read or you're in need of a book to drag you out of your slump, look no further. Off the Map is the book for you!!

Carla Black, an adventurer at heart is off to Ireland where she is the Maid of Honor for her friend's wedding. The groom's brother, Eamon Sullivan, who conveniently happens to be the best man is tasked with picking up Carla and getting her to the wedding location. The two begin an epic journey with lots of detours (and lots of spice!!) while dealing with some major emotional baggage on both sides. Grab a glass of sangria, buckle up, and get cozy with this feel-good meet-cute romance.

This was extremely readable and very enjoyable--I tore through this entire book in a single day. Off the Map strikes that ideal balance of humor, romance, healthy relationships, and dealing with personal issues that I love in a good rom com. I'm definitely eager to read more books by Trish Doller (this was my first, but it won't be my last!).

Minor spoilers: The first two thirds of Off the Map are a fun travel rom com through Ireland, while Carla meets and falls for Eamon. The last third had a lot more heavy emotional hits than I was expecting as Carla deals with her dad's dementia and takes stock of her own life. As other reviewers have noted, the romance arc happens very fast, but that felt right to me considering how the book needed space for Carla's relationship with her dad in the last third.

This book made me miss my dad, even though he’s the exact homebody opposite of Carla’s traveling dad; and it made me spend several hours looking at camper van rentals, reminiscing about the places I’ve traveled and being super grateful to have my husband as a traveling companion. Which is all to say, it really resonated. I loved this sweet, funny, romantic story, the immediate connection between Carla and Eamon, and both of their awesome families (found as well as biological). Now to get myself to Ireland….

From page 1 this book had me hooked. It kept me up late into the night because I had to know how the story would turn out. I won't share any spoilers, but Carla and Eamon were both characters I liked and could relate to. I was engaged as I journeyed with them on the rollercoaster of different moments in their lives. There were moments I laughed out loud and other moments that my eyes teared up. There were also some spicy moments.

I didn't realize this was a series and I can't wait to go back and read the first installments. It didn't feel like I was missing anything jumping in at book 3 but I want to learn more about the character. I already hope there will be a Book 4. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick paced story with adventure and a bit of romance.

Thank you to the author, publisher and Net Galley for allowing me to read this book early in exchange for my feedback.

This is my first book by this author, which is surprising because this book is actually the 3rd in a series. I honestly didn't even realize it was a part of a series until I looked it up on Goodreads after binging. That said, you can read this as a standalone book, though you may note some prior character references that I missed if you read the other books first.

Carla travels to Dublin for her best friend Anna's wedding. Carla meets Eamon (brother of the groom) and they spend the night together and then take a detour road trip on the way to the wedding. It's a fun read over the next few days of their journey and the wedding and the decisions they make thereafter.

There was super quick spice in this, like the first chapter - it kind of jarred me but I also don't love the instant love trope either and didn't understand how they went from not knowing each other to sex after essentially no build up whatsoever.

A lot of this book is actually about the character's personal growth, especially for Carla. There are some super sad parts, but overall, I liked how it all ended, although it felt a bit rushed at the end. I don't want to give away any of the major plot points. Overall, I liked this book but had some mixed feelings!

I absolutely loved this one! Trish never disappoints but I think she’s outdone herself on this one for sure!

As much as this pains me to say about such a sweet story, this unfortunately missed the mark for me as a whole.

I'm never a huge fan of more of an instalove format, and even though you could argue that this TECHNICALLY wasn't, the connection between the two leads was so incredibly instant that it robbed the story of any real tension. I know some people love that, so that could very well be a me problem, but I had a hard time staying interested when there was really no buildup. It felt like we were constantly told that the characters had tons of tension and sparks, but you don't really FEEL any of it.

On a slightly more nitpicky level, I also wasn't a fan of how the main characters talk about the male lead's ex girlfriend. While I'm never expecting a character to give glowing feedback about an ex, the specific way she was spoken about felt very much "not like other girls," especially the complaints about how she...[checks notes]...liked neutral home decor and curated her photos. Nothing like our female lead, who is ALSO an influencer, but SHE'S a COOL influencer! I know we see this all the time in romance novels, but it always leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and felt super unnecessary to the plot.

Overall, I'd give it 2.5/5. It was a breezy read that was definitely cute and I can certainly see how others will enjoy it, but it just wasn't for me!

This was such a cute read! Genuinely had more heart than I was expecting in the end. One of my favorite aspects was the lack of miscommunication between main characters. There was character growth in a way that felt authentic. This was a super fast and sweet read, would recommend if you enjoy a quick modern romance.

This was surprisingly more spicy than I expected but the story was heartfelt and a lot of fun. Definitely recommend if you're looking for an escape!

I was elated when I got the arc notification for this book because I adored Float Plan and enjoyed the sequel as well. There is some thing about Trish Doller’s books that feel so cozy and warm while still touching on sensitive topics. This book is no exception. The main character Carla comes to Ireland for Anna and Keane’s wedding and is met by Eamon, Keane’s brother. They are supposed to go directly to the wedding, but instead take a meandering path through Ireland exploring the places Eamon has wanted to go in the past, but never has given himself time to.

While I could not exactly relate to either character particularly well, the emotional themes of the book and the conversations around them in the second half felt so realistic. I felt like I was gently being led down this path of a comfort read while still having true and meaningful moments.

Altogether, I do not know how this ranks compared to Float Plan, because I think this book is even better, but there is something about Anna and Keane I liked better as a central couple. Either way, both are a five star read for me, and I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoyed float plan.
