Trish Dollar’s third adult novel finds Carla traveling to Ireland for Anna and Keane’s (Float Plan) wedding. Eamon, Keane’s brother and best man, meets her in Dublin and will take her the rest of the way. Plans derail when they lose track of time talking, and attraction ignites. Carla is a traveler, working long enough to get money for her next adventure, a lifestyle that enables her to avoid the harsh reality of her father’s dementia. Eamon longs to travel, but spends his time trying to live up to family expectations; he hasn’t even explored the mountains one hour away. As they set off for the wedding, Carla encourages Eamon to take a chance, but as they take a detour, he won’t be the only one examining his life. Dollar never shies away from tough issues, but does so with humor, compassion and a light touch. I laughed and teared up, becoming invested in the characters and enjoying the Irish setting. Cameo appearances from both previous books in this series was a bonus, though this open-door romance can be read as a standalone. Recommended.

I received an ARC from the publisher and NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

Float Plan is an all time favorite of mine, so I was so excited to get an advanced copy of her latest book! Similar to her first book (in a good way) that you got to enjoy the descriptions of the travel and landscapes in addition to the emotional baggage the protagonists are dealing with! I thought it was a touch too neat that Carla ends up with her best friends brother in law, but enjoyed it nonetheless

Rating: 4/5
Warnings: death of a parent, dementia, parental abandonment
Steam: 3/5
Tropes: forced proximity, it’s just a hookup, cinnamon roll hero

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for access to this advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion. Off the Map will be released on March 7th, 2023!

Ahhhh I just love Trish Doller and her work! I was so excited for Carla and Eamon’s story…to see Anna and Keene get a happy ending and most of all, to read a book set in Ireland.

I think this was a really solid book. I loved the adventures, Carla’s relationship with her dad and generally the chemistry between the two MCs. I’m not always a fan of insta-love but I really think it worked for these two. This is by far her steamiest read and I really enjoyed it…I also think it suited the story well. Eamon is the absolute ideal of ideals for a book boyfriend, he is the tenderest of cinnamon rolls. There were some hysterical moments including a bull and some sangria. But really, Trish is at her finest when she is writing about the reality of grief and loss. Carla had a particularly difficult character arc as she is losing her father to dementia. I think this story line was handled with care and so relatable.

My one complaint and I have said this before….these books are too short and they feel rushed near the end. I wish we had more time in the story and with the characters. I feel like we are just getting good and then it’s over.

Off the Map is my official favorite of this series by Trish Doller. It was so sweet and moving. Although I was crying towards the end, it left me with such a feeling of hope and happiness!

When Carla travels to Dublin for her best friends wedding, the last thing she expects is to give the grooms brother, Eamon, within seconds of meeting him in a bar.
Carla has been raised by her father to travel. Don’t get too cozy, just travel everywhere as much as possible. When her father gets diagnosed with Dementia, Carla takes that to heart and works only to make money to start her next travel.
Eamon has always chose the wrong woman. The more time he spends with Carla, he realizes she is so unlike the past girls that she’s exactly what he’s been looking for.
Is this a meet cute or destined to failure?

Off the Map was fun and filled with adventures that made me want to buy a Jeep and hit the road. It's definitely a rom-com filled not only with great characters, but with wonderful life lessons and a story that will touch your heart.

If that sounds like your sort of read, you'll want to pick this up right away! I didn't realize it was the second in what I'm assuming is a two book series. There were a couple of things mentioned in the book or alluded to that made me wonder if I'd missed it earlier in the book, but once I realized there's a first book, I realized why I'd wondered about those couple of things.

I'll be picking up the first book, Float Plan, right away so that I can fit the rest of the puzzle pieces together.

Pick this up and plan to escape on a trip to Ireland, a journey (or two) of self-awareness, and an entirely enjoyable fun read. Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and publisher for an ARC at my request.

Carla is off to Ireland for Anna and Keane’s wedding when she meets Keane’s brother Eamon. On their way to the wedding Carla and Eamon take a few detours and adventure and hilarity ensues, including a run-in with a sangria loving bull . The more time Carla spends with Eamon her adventurous spirit takes a turn. Can she learn to stop running away from her feelings and give love a chance? I loved this book just as much as Float Plan and Trish Doller delivered again! I deeply appreciated the subplot of Carla’s dad having dementia, as I my grandparents dealt with the disease, my grandfather in particular had Alzheimer’s so I connected very well to Carla’s experience. This is a must read for any adventure romance lover!

With the same skilled hand, Trish Doller has penned another romance with guts. The steam is real; the heartache is real; the love is real. I love that Keane and Anna make return appearances; it adds another layer of “I-know-these-people” feelings. Eamon and Carla are who I dream of being and as long as I can reread this book, I can live through them. Highly recommend anything by Trish Doller!

PERFECTION! I LOVED Carla and Eamon's story! I ate up the pages like they were my favorite food that I just couldn't get enough of. Trish Doller's writing is so enticing. She has a way of making her characters come to life as you read. They are all so relatable that you just naturally feel like you know them and are part of their lives, watching things happen from the sidelines. And oh what a fun, adventurous, steamy, emotionally complicated story Off the Map is to watch unfold!

The immense chemistry between Carla and Eamon powers this love story forward. The emotional baggage they both carry with them evokes all kinds of feelings as you read. The heartbreaking losses they experience brought tears to my eyes. The life lessons throughout the story were wonderful. The ending thrilled and comforted my heart, giving me a feeling of complete satisfaction and utter joy. For me, this story had it all. It's a phenomenal read, perfect for a day at the beach or curled up on a sofa on a rainy weekend. I enjoyed it immensely and highly recommend it to all.

SO happy to have been given a DRC of the third installment of "The Beck Sisters" series by Trish Dollar. I enjoyed the first two quite a lot, and this one is great! Besides the "insta-love" trope story between our two MC's, Carla & Eamon who are on their way to previous character's Irish wedding, and all the call-back's there, we also get a sweet story about the female lead's relationship with her aging and ill father. This one gave me all the feels! Highly recommend for those who read the previous two, but also could work as a stand-alone. My sincere thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the complimentary copy. The rating and opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is book 3 in the Beck sister’s book but can be read as a standalone. I loved that this is set mostly in Ireland. This gave me all the feels…

I loved Float Plan, so I was ecstatic to get an advanced copy of Off the Map. Unfortunately, this novel didn't carry the same magic that Float Plan did. Not the right fit for me, but I'll be watching for Trish Doller's next book.

LOVED, Off the Map, a meet-cute adventure story about Anna's BFF, Carla Black, and Keane's brother, Eamon Sullivan. Both these characters were introduced in FLOAT PLAN (one of my all-time fav books), and their coming together in this one doesn't disappoint for even one line.
LOVED Carla's relationship with her dad, Biggie, whose suffering from Alzheimer's.
LOVED Biggie's Stella!
LOVED the Sullivan's.
LOVED LOVED LOVED Eamon.
Give me more Sullivan's brothers, please, Ms. Doller. You have to write Patrick's story now.
LOVE this series.

Trish Doller is 3/3 and now will forever be an auto-buy author for me.

I absolutely adored Float Plan, The Suite Spot and most recently, OFF THE MAP.

While I’m not typically a fan of the insta-love trope, this really worked for me here. Im not going to say it’s because I have a thing for Ireland and Irish accents & really really really just want my little family to move there forever, but I’m not going to say it’s not.

I loved the humor, the chemistry, the setting, and the character overlap. It was so nice getting a little bit more of Anna and Keane in this one. I truly love with authors do this with character overlap (like Abby Jimenez & Lyssa Kay Adams). I also really loved Biggie. 🥹

Overall, it’s a yes from me. If you love a sweet romance, that’ll have you wanting to waiting to pack up and move to Ireland immediately, you need this. 🍀

What can you say about a book that gave you all the feels? I loved it just doesn’t feel like enough.
I’ve been lucky enough to receive arc copies of all 3 books in this series, and I have yet to be let down, even a little.
Off the Map follows Carla Black, who we met in Float Plan. She’s Anna’s friend from the pirate bar 😂 I love her with my whole heart. She’s the woman we all grew up wanting to be. Adventure at every turn seems to be how Carla lives her life. That doesn’t stop when she meets up with Eamon Sullivan for a whole new adventure, Anna’s wedding! Eamon is Keane’s brother, and best man at said wedding. A wonderful collection of hilarious and heartwarming detours fill out their time together from point A (Dublin Ireland) to point B(Tralee). I love them, and wish I could be them. Their relationship was fantastic and so believable for me, I couldn’t get enough.
Biggie Black is by far the best side character of all time. When I tell you I SOBBED, even that is an understatement. I loved all the stories of Carla’s childhood with Biggie, and honestly could read a whole book based on them alone.
My favourite thing about Trish’s writing is the flawless way she brings in some extremely emotional subjects. Dementia is not uncommon to experience for a lot of people, and if you haven’t had it effect your life, you’re one of the lucky ones. Doller takes a very sensitive reality and molds it beautifully into a work of fiction without it feeling either glossed over or romanticized. It’s raw and emotional, and ripped my whole heart out. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making me feel seen with your work. It means a lot to me to read something even slightly similar to my own families experience with such a devastating disease.
I give this a whole hearted 5 stars, simply because there’s no option for me to give it more.

Trish Doller has solidified herself as one of my favorite romance authors. I adored her previous works in this series, Float Plan and The Suite Spot, and somehow fell even more in love with her writing with this latest. Off The Map was endearingly sweet and incredibly genuine- brimming with swoon, feels, and steam. The banter and sexual chemistry were top notch and I was invested in the story from the very first page. Her writing made me feel as if I was experiencing everything right along with the characters. I appreciated how sensitive topics of dementia, grief, parental relationships and risk-taking were handled in a vulnerable yet curious way. This love story left me with a smile on my face and wanderlust in my heart!

Thank you so much SMP Romance and Netgalley for my copy.

Let me start by saying Off the Map is really two stories in one.

The first, a story of a whirlwind romance between a maid of honor and a best man. This story is full of adventure, beautiful landscape, a few troublesome animals, and a healthy serving of spice.

The second story is of personal growth, following your heart even as you battle your mind over the consequences that may come. This story is about finding your strength when it is seemingly impossible. It's about family dynamics and the importance of one's chosen family. It is a far more tumultuous storyline and that is what truly made this book what it is.

CW: parent with dementia

This one is a tear-jerker! Carla has been raised by her single-father and lived what she believed to be a mostly idyllic life. They traveled often and used the world as their teacher. Carla has been traveling alone for the past 10 years and while her adventures have been plenty, her emotional ties have been few. That begins to change when she meets Eamon. They meet when he picks her up from the airport in Ireland before his brother (and her best friends) wedding. Eamon seems to have the opposite "problem" from Carla - he longs to travel, but his roots are deeply buried and he can't seem to break away. Spending time together opens both of their eyes to the possibility that maybe things don't have to stay the same. Just because something always was, doesn't mean it always will be.

Off The Map had me laughing, crying, and cheering for the relationships. I loved the deep connections and emotional bonds between so many of the characters. Even though Carla deflected emotional attachment, there was no denying her love for her family and friends. And Eamon. *SWOON* that's all. ha! He was a lovable teddy bear for sure.

The story covered some tough issues and real life hardships, but Doller handled them beautifully and revealed nuggets of truth and fortitude throughout. Definitely a book I will add to my re-read list!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press, St. Martin's Griffin for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
