I ended up DNFing this at 32%.

I really enjoyed the other two books in this series, but this one just wasn’t for me. It was very insta-love, well insta-lust really, which I don’t typically enjoy in books. Carla really frustrated me overall and I didn’t enjoy her inner monologue.

I skipped to the end just to see and it was frustratingly predictable.

I’ll keep an eye out for other books from this author but this was a miss for me personally.

I adored this book and finished it in a day. If you like traveling, or have a sense of wanderlust, read this book.

Carla and Eamon’s story is part steam, part adventure, part self-realization. It’s light and heavy at the same time, without feeling like a burden.

Carla Black, divides her time bartending and traveling the world. Raised by a single father, Carla learned to keep only the bare essentials. She use travel as a means of healing a broken heart and lives by the motto ‘not here for a longtime, but here for a good time’. Her life is turned upside down when she encounters, Eamon Sullivan. The two have a whirlwind romance in Ireland. Sadly, their time together is cut short when Carla must return home to help care for her ailing father. Will Carla learn to find happiness in one place, or is she destined to keep running?

I cannot say enough good things about this book. Here are just a few of the things that stood out to me:

-Off the Map catches up with Carla Black, a character first introduced in The Float Plan. Whether you have read the entire Beck Sister Series or started with this book, Trisha Doller creates a true standalone story. I appreciated how effortlessly Doller catches her readers up without spoiling the other books.
*I myself haven’t read The Float Plan or The Suite Spot and look forward to reading both of them in the near future.

-From the moment I started reading, I was hooked. This can only be attributed to the fact that the pacing is perfect. Doller gets right to the heart of the story. There is no waiting fifty pages before anything starts to happen.

-I love that Carla breaks so many social norms. She is an expert camper and mechanic. She dispels the notion that you need a male chaperone while traveling the world or learning new skills.

Expect to be moved while reading Carla’s journey. Watching her strip off her fearless, tough girl exterior and give into her vulnerable side was beautiful. Her story is both endearing and inspirational. I highly recommend giving this book a read.

Special thanks to St. Martin’s Griffin and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

I have read the first two books in the series, and I really liked them. I read those books right when they came out, so I’ll admit it has been some time ago. I know these characters have been introduced before, but I just don’t remember anything about them, and I found myself not caring. I gave up at 33%. I may return to it in the future. For now, it’s not for me.

I really enjoyed Trish Doller’s other books in this series better. I had high hopes for this one as it was set in Ireland but I just couldn’t connect with the romance. It was very surface level which pains me because her first book, The Float Plan, was damn near perfect,

I was pleasantly surprised by Trish Doller's book Float Plan, the first in this Beck Series trilogy, when I first read it upon release. Judging by the blurb and cute cover, I wasn't expecting such depth, heart, and well written romance, grief, and letting go. I've enjoyed this series, and while the third installment, Off The Map, isn't my favorite, I do think it's the most fun. Compared to the relative slow-burn of the first two, the main characters jump into bed together immediately, and surprise, we've got open door spice! I thought this was fun and a well done change of pace from the rest of this series, but I can see why other readers might find it jarring. Buncha prudes. I really enjoy books about traveling or fish out of water stories, and a romance set around travel is my sweet spot. Off The Map has a lot to like, but I can totally understand why some were surprised by the 180 Doller took from the closed door, slow burn, deeper themes of the first two in the series. This story does have emotional undercurrents and some deeper discussions towards the end, but I personally liked the balance between fun and heart quite a lot!

It’s funny how sometimes you read a book and it hits really close to home. Which is also why it’s taken me a while to write this review, even though I thoroughly enjoyed this book that was one of my most anticipated books for 2023.

Off the Map is a cute, heartwarming story about Carla and Eamon and their epic - though fairly short - road trip through Ireland. They have an adorable meet cute at a Dublin pub, followed by the footloose and fancy-free Carla coaxing the responsible Eamon to toss aside their direct route for an indirect path filled with adventures.

Once again, as she did with Float Plan, the author created a fantastic story about lovable and relatable characters who learn as much about each other as they do about themselves. I spent the majority of this book with a goofy smile on my face, and I loved every minute of it. As someone who loves a road trip and taking the path less traveled, I loved reading Carla and Eamon’s adventures and mishaps.

Their relationship was also a delight to read. I love a story where a couple falls in love so effortlessly, and things aren’t all dramatic and angsty even though their path to happily ever after takes a bit of a detour. I love mature couples who talk things through and give each other space to do the things they need to do. I’ve loved all of the characters in this series, but I think Carla and Eamon are the most fun.

But Off the Map wasn’t all fun times and barrels of laughs. Ms. Dollar, once again, throws in a modicum of heartbreak, this time dealing with the heroine’s relationship with her dad. I don’t want to go too much into that storyline - I try to be as spoiler free as possible. But it’s the part of the book that was very relatable to what I was going through with my own dad at the time. And even though it was an entirely different situation, I had many of the same feelings as Carla, which added extra depth to my reading experience.

Float Plan is still my favorite book of this series, but I really, really liked Off the Map as well. I can’t wait to read whatever is next from Ms. Dollar!

Carla lives by the phrase “here for a good time, not for a long time” and spends her days traveling the world in her old Jeep Wrangler. When she travels to Dublin for her best friend’s wedding, she is picked up from the airport by Eamon, a friend of the groom who is currently feeling lost in life. What should have been a direct trip across Ireland to get to the wedding turns into an adventure filled with unexpected detours and even more unexpected feelings.

One thing I love about reading Trish Doller’s books is the adventure they take you on. All three books in the Beck Sisters series allow you to travel through the pages, and the adventure through the Irish countryside in Off the Map was the perfect setting for this story. Trish also has a beautiful way of writing about finding love in the midst of healing. The stories she creates are filled with heart and emotion. Carla and Eamon’s love story was so fun to watch. The chemistry was pretty instant and this book was very steamy from pretty early on. I also adored Carla’s relationship with her dad. The stories of wanderlust and sense of adventure he fostered in her from a young age were a huge part of her identity. Seeing her slowly come to terms with his dementia diagnosis was heartbreaking. That story line in particular made this book so special.

I adored the audio. Sarah Naughton narrated the story with so much heart and the emotion this book needed.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for the advance copies.

Carla reminds me of a bachelor with her life motto, and that is how I went into this book after reading the summary. I love her wanderlust attitude and her flair for adventure. She's the kind of girl I wish I had been.

Rather than a book where the female lead has had her entire life upended, Carla seems to have things going well and the male lead is a hot mess express. The adventure they end up on is far more than just a jaunt across a map and naturally, fate has pulled them together. Is this the road trip from hell or is there something more to it?

I think this is the perfect book to read for the summer road trip - to the beach! Or anywhere really. Perfect to read wherever the wind blows you!

“What happens in the pasture, stays in the pasture.”

Trish Doller does no wrong!!! Gosh I love the emotional connection I get to her characters. Carla and Eamon were such a beautiful couple and this book was completely bingeable!

I have been swooning over the Beck sisters and their boyfriends from the start. Trish delivers top notch book boyfriends and typically with a beautiful Irish accent 😜

This was one of my most anticipated reads this year, and while it wasn’t my favorite of the series I still adored it! Carla and Eamon had a major Insta love relationship and it took a little longer to ship them but by the end I did. I loved the cameos of Anna and Keane, who I missed terribly!

Read if you like:
•The previous Beck Sisters books (this one is 🌶️ 🌶️ )
•Yummy Irish accents
•Insta Love
•Best friend/MOH meets Brother/Best man
•Adventure/Drifter vibes

CW: Dimentia

If you haven’t jumped on the Trish Doller train I highly recommend the Beck Sisters trilogy!!! I still think Float Plan is my fav but I will always auto-buy this authors books!

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martins for an advanced copy!

Trish Doller's contemporary romance Off the Map is the third installment in the Beck Sisters series. It's the first book I've read from this author. The story follows Carla Black as she journeys to Ireland for her friend's wedding. There she meets the groom's brother Eamon Sullivan and sparks immediately fly. Soon the two are road tripping together and Carla is reconsidering her no-relationships stance.

Readers who love road trip romances, books about Ireland, and low-conflict stories will find a lot to enjoy in this story. The protagonists

For my personal taste, I wanted more conflict and tension in the plot itself. Most problems felt easily solved and the characters getting along well from the start and sleeping together quickly left little tension in their dynamic. It also put a sour taste in my mouth that a portion of their initial bonding was over mutually bashing the hero's last girlfriend. Terrible exes of all genders exist, but it didn't feel good to have the heroine blowing off arriving on time for her friend's wedding prep while also bashing her love interest's last partner.

Overall, I'd read more from Doller even though this particularly book wasn't for me.

This book was super cute. I have not yet read the first two books in the Beck Sisters series, but it’s clear that these are companion novels and can be read out of order or as standalones. This book follows Carla Black, who is trying to make it to Ireland for her best friend’s wedding. She arrives in Dublin and is retrieved from the airport by Eamon, her best friend’s soon-to-be brother-in-law. The shenanigans start right away and these two decide to turn the trip to the wedding destination into their own adventure.

I love books set in Ireland, it’s one of my top bucket list travel destinations! So I enjoyed coming along for the adventure through Carla’s POV. I will most definitely be picking up the other two installments in this series!

Wonderful. I cried, laughed, swooned. Dans of instalove will love this one. I love this series and Trish Doller is for sure an auto buy author for me. CW for dementia and death of a loved one.

I really loved this story. There was so much heart, depth, emotions, and spice. :)

Carla takes her dad's advice to travel to heart, and she works as a bartender during the winter and travels in the summer. She ends up in Ireland for her best friend's wedding and ends up on a side adventure with the groom's brother. Secondarily, her father, battling alzheimer's, asked her to stay away so she would be spared watching his decline, so she hasn't returned home to him in years. There is a balance in story between her relationship with more by-the-book Eamon and her realization to return home to see her dad during the time he has left.

Lots of really great fleshed out characters all around, characters who made choices that made sense, and loooooooots of spicy scenes. And heart! I fully cried at the end.

I didn't read the earlier books in the series, but I will absolutely be going back to Doller's earlier works.

Off the Map by Trish Doller came out in the beginning of March. I was so excited to receive a copy through @netgalley to review. It’s the 3 book in a companion trilogy. In this book the main characters from Float Plan are getting married in Ireland. Her best friend and his brother/best man get involved when he needs to pick her up and bring her to the wedding. They end up on a trip of their own as they take a detour on the way!

❤️Review❤️

I really enjoyed this reading experience. I loved Float Plan, which made me extremely excited to read this one. The setting was stunning and so well written. I felt like I was back in Ireland. Their interest in each other happens extremely quickly, but you could feel their chemistry sizzle off the page. Something that I love about Trish Doller’s books is that it’s always more than just a romance. The topic of Alzheimer’s was so well handled and made me cry my eyes out. What a thoughtful, short and sweet romance!

4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⭐⭐/5

• vacation/insta fling
• immature and annoying FMC

So the only reason I stuck with this book and didn't DNF is because it was only a 7 hour audiobook and I was listening at 2x speed. Nothing ever fully developed... it was part romance, part adventure, part self discovery/healing? This is the third book in a series but could be read as a standalone.

🗣️ Thank you to @netgalley and St Martin's Press/SMP Romance for the opportunity to read and review this book via gifted eARC! All opinions are honest and my own.

Carla Black travels the world in the Jeep she's created memories with her dad in, never settling in one place for too long and avoiding serious relationships at all costs. When she meets stranger Eamon Sullivan in a Dublin bar, all bets are off.

Carla and Eamon push each other out of their comfort zones as they road-trip across Ireland on their way to a family wedding. Their playful banter and good nature balanced out the more serious sides of their family backstories, which made for a compelling read.

Off the Map is the third book in the Beck Sister series, and although it wasn't my favorite, I did enjoy pieces of it and loved getting to reconnect with characters from the previous books.

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and Trish Doller for an advance copy of the book for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this one! I always buy Trish Doller's new titles and I'm glad that's the case. This book was super cute, heart-warming, and full of adventures. I loved the traveling aspect, it was super enjoyable. I also thought the relationship was very sweet and made sense.

Avid traveler meets cartographer in a meet cute situation at a wedding. The banter and open door romance were fun, but nothing really stuck with me on this one. The insta-lust is either going to be a hit or miss I feel like. It’s one of those tropes you either love or hate. Cute rom-com but mediocre for me.
