Enemies to lovers and fake dating? Sold. Though her friend dating her ex fiancé is just bad girl code. I loved the banter and the way that they fought, made it much more enjoyable when they finally gave into their feelings

This was a sweet and sizzling read for me. The characters had great chemistry, however I feel like the story telling fell a bit flat. Everything was wrapped up decently quick and I feel it could have been dragged out a bit more with a few more details and more banter.
All in all... 3 stars.

Lucy's world goes haywire—she loses her job and ends up faking an engagement with her ex-boss Jay at her sister's wedding. Their chemistry? Electric! The ending might feel hurried to some, but Lucy and Jay's journey from fake to potentially real romance is a rollercoaster you won't want to put down. It's a heartfelt ride rooting for this unlikely duo through all the ups and downs!

This had potential as I usually love a fake dating plot. But unfortunately this novel fell flat for me. I just did not buy the chemistry between the main characters here.

I usually love marriages of convenience/fake fiancés, so this one definitely caught my eye. The book was good....it wasn't amazing, but good. I did have to push my way through some parts to get through it, but there was definite potential.

Lucy Barr is fired by her Indian billionaire boss Jay. Then she finds out her cheater ex is the best man for her sister's upcoming wedding. She claims to be engaged to one up her ex and the only man available to be her pretend fiancé is Jay. He agrees to the deception because he needs her help to close a real estate deal.
I loved this book. It has the billionaire boss trope but not the type of story you would typically expect. I loved the relationship between Jay and Lucy. I highly recommend this book, it's a great read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

This book was very hard for me to get through, I love a good enemies-to-lovers turn fake relationship most of the time but this was disappointing to me.

The Billionaire's Proposal is a grumpy/sunshine and fake romance story rolled into one. Jay is Lucys boss and fires her but then they are forced into situations together again and again. Jay agrees to be Lucy's date to her sisters wedding and help pay for her ticket to Hawaii; and make her ex fiance jealous. I liked the book, it was fun and sweet but I didnt always buy the relationship or the family dynamics with Lucy and everyone else. But it is a short read with a HEA.

THE BILLIONAIRE'S PROPOSAL By Meg Herga

Lucy Barr gets fired from her job and then she gets to know her Ex is the best man at her sister's wedding. Jay Belgavi is the handsome Indian Billionaire who fires her.

😊What i liked -

✔ Enemies to Lovers/Grumpy-Sunshiney/Opposites Attract/Fake Dating/Forced Proximity
✔ I loved Lucy's character, though I felt sad for her too. I loved the way she stands for herself ultimately.
✔ I loved their banter, fighting their attraction to giving in to it.
✔ I loved most of the side characters, especially the occupants in the apartment complex where Lucy resides.
✔ It was a fun, easy read.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ Oh i wish i could get my hands on the ex, the so called friend and that guy Stiles.
✔ Other than his name or the fact he likes tea, I wish there was more to highlight the Indianness in him.

Lucy is looking for a fake fiancé as she need to attend her sis wedding which her ex fiancé will be the best man. Due some confusion she mistakenly fought with her CEO, Jay Belgavi and caused him to lose and important deal. Naturally, Jay fired her on the spot. Lucy is staying at an apartment block who belong to the company and Jay have the intention to sell the block for development purposes. Similar to Lucy, Jake need a fake girlfriend to get his sisters’ off his back and also convince his client that he is a reliable family man.

It is an enemies to lover romance which focus on finding love and trust again. As the story developed, we get to see the shift in their relationship and both main character’s discover that their hate was based on misunderstanding.

Thank you to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the ARC. This was not the book for me and I did not enjoy it. I felt the tension between Lucy and Jay was not sexual tension at all - it really just felt like intense dislike bordering on hate. I can see the author trying to give them chemistry but I did not feel it. The writing style was good but I did not see them as redeemable characters. Yes Lucy acts like a doormat and yes Jay had a not so great childhood and was betrayed, in a way, by his father. I get all of that but none of it really made me feel more connected to the characters. I would be happy to see if Herga uses different character profiles for her next novel but this was not my cup of tea.
