This book was a pretty good read I enjoyed it.not my typical read and probably wouldn't reread but I did enjoy it
I enjoyed reading this fairytale adaptation that is also a fractured fairytale. It reminds me of Once Upon a Time. The author uses multiple points of view that help you see different facets of the characters and each has at least one facet that is not beautiful. The main point of view is Elle, who you will notice is remarkably like Cinderella. I’m still not sure if her Aunt has Elle’s best in mind. Buckle up for a drama filled ride with this one. And don’t expect a happily ever after ending, because it’s clear that this author still has plans for the characters in future books.
The cover made me select this book, me love a nice cover, and the plot seemed interesting. The story grabbed me and I finished quite fast.

Forgotten provides a bread crumb trail to the main theme of the story. The comparison of both stories provides an excellent compare contrast lesson for middle school students. The character building drew me into the story by causing me to want to understand the roles each played in both stories. I want to read the next book because I like the characters and I want to understand how this world will explain itself and resolve the conflicts. The book is aptly named because I feel like I am trying to remember as I read along and I do want to be reminded.
I loved this imaginative, intelligently written and delightful story. Highly recommended and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
