A practical and useful guide for people who are interesting in deepening their spiritual practice outside of organised religion. I loved this book and would be keen to read more from the author.
One page after another of practical, easy to do activities and advice! Each chapter is stand alone as opposed to them building upon the previous. I did feel the need to read a section and then sit with it a while before coming back to the book to continue on. Just the explanations of indirect coping strategies is worth the price of this comforting book. I found myself bookmarking almost every page! A truly life changing book.
Thank you, Llewellyn Publications, for the advance reading copy.
How do I say this?
How do you know I badly needed this book?
Reading the introduction pages itself is quite relaxing and the author knows how to actually calm the anxious reader. Just like that 👏
The book is based on the concept of well being and not just the physical health. I feel this book is different and wholesome at a whole different level. Nonfiction/self help/health guidebooks usually do not begin with the concept of well being which I feel is very important.
The first impression I have of this book is this good.
Divided into short six main chapters with a variety of sub headings under each chapter, the content deals with meditation as a tool for stress relief, understanding stress, exploration of the chakras and how to correlate accordingly, mind-body types (I say wow! This is new!), balancing the energy of our own environment (impressive!) and how to use the energy of our beliefs.
This book is different and useful. Will definitely recommend.
It’s not just the holidays that find us overworking and neglecting ourselves, but it is a great time to make a commitment to taking care of yourself as well as others. This book provides a great foundation for doing just that, each and every day.
This would make a great gift for some of the people on your gift list and a gift for yourself as well.
A nice set of various approaches to well being, and can work individually or together. The author seems down to earth, and there's some helpful info here.
Thanks very much for the free ARC for review!!
