Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the arc
Really couldn’t get into this one. the characters and writing style I did not gel with. This title would definitely work for someone else though
I love that this series is setting up a slice of life that gets to take a look at the softer side of male friendship. I appreciate that this first volume is setting up and introducing a cast of characters who feel unique and different. This volume was quietly funny and I can’t wait to see the antics that follow in later volumes.
This was pretty underwhelming. The fact that it wasn't queer felt like a bait and switch (why call it Rainbow Days?) and I didn't really like the guy characters. I found it very strange to include several references to kink/BDSM in what was otherwise a very tame, high-school appropriate story.
My biggest issue was that one of the male characters has a female character confess to him that she has feelings for another female student. In response, he kisses her out of the blue and she is appropriately disgusted and appalled. His response is to think her anger is cute/funny and it's never addressed again. That's pretty heinous behavior and this scene alone is enough that I can't recommend this to anyone.
There's also a mini arc at the end where a male character calls another character 'ugly' and it's supposed to be ok because he is showing affection/using it as a term of endearment.
The rest of the content was fine, but nothing remarkable. I will not be purchasing this for my library. I read this through NetGalley.
ARC provided by NetGalley!
This was a cute story about four friends and their love lives. It gives me Daily Lives of High School Boys vibes (although Daily Lives is funnier). I think overall the story was fine and pretty generic for a manga plot - It is always nice to see boys be friends and have a kind relationship with one another. I would recommend it to libraries as their students would probably enjoy it.
This had a promising start but I was really disappointed with the direction it took, especially in the treatment of certain supporting characters. I enjoyed some characters regardless, and will be on the lookout for the next volume with hopes the story improves!
Not my cup of tea. The story is mostly about four friends and girl troubles, with a focus on Natsuki and his love interest. One of the, key words, -high school- boys is a player who at one point had 5 girlfriends at one time and another is heavily into BDSM. I'm not comfortable with those two dynamics in teenagers, so that set the tone for the rest of the manga with me. I did enjoy the art and there are some interesting aspects to the story, but not enough to make me want to read the second volume.
Cute and a nice spin of the guys being like the usual girl group in mangas.
a character looking for love and a regular girl run into each other.
ALREADY I'm in love with the player friend with the man-hating bisexual(?) friend. I have a ship type, and they fit it, perfect side relationship potential!
There was nothing necessarily bad about this, but it just failed to wow me. It's never good when I find myself skimming a manga.
For Libraries: YA suitable, but references BDSM on occasion.
