I absolutely loved this slow burn workplace romance. I was hooked from the beginning and knew it was going to be an amazing book. I was not at all let down.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Do you know the feeling of starting a book and instantly knowing you were going to love it? That's what I felt less than 2 chapters in. I absolutely love stories set in inns or resorts, so that checked the box immediately.
After Will is passed over (again) for the lead on a construction job at his father's company, he is presented with an opportunity to lead a project on his friend's newly inherited resort in Colorado.
Lucy desperately wants the renovation job at the resort. She has worked hard to build a name for herself in the construction world.
Both Lucy and Will feel instant attraction to each other, but have to keep it professional, right? But with the timeline to open the resort accelerated, tempers rise...as does passion.
I am obsessed with this cover and loved this story so much. This slow born workplace romance was so much fun! It took me a bit to get into, but once I was in it, I was thrilled. It was a really sweet book and the couple had me swooning.
Having recently seen the blue angel air show, I was in the mood for a fighter pilot romance story. This was a cute one that made me smile a lot. This book is the most recent book to join the read in one sitting club. Loved it!
Will Cruz has left the Navy as a pilot and has left working for his father. Moving on he has accepted an offer from his friend Ghost another pilot to renovate, or oversee the renovation of a ski lodge that his friend inherited. He will also help run it and get some of the profits. Will hire Lucy Dale as the contractor and though they start off rough at first it begins to work into an attraction. Also, there is an old story of a treasure that goes along with the story so you really have two stories. A good book.
I'm so excited for Delancey's new small-town romance series. It's definitely different from the previous series that I've read by her. Lucy and Will's story is already a great start to the series. I think these two is pretty relatable and just amazing but they don't know it. And I loved watching them realise their worth and in the end falling in love with each other. I loved their chemistry and it feels really easy between them but also not.
This book has a little bit of a treasure hunt in an old resort mystery to it. I liked the characters. The setting was intriguing. There’s lots of conflict and attraction going on. It was an interesting book. I look forward to reading about the next couple and more about the mystery. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
This story is about two main characters out to prove something to somebody’s else. Will wants to prove to his dad that he can be trusted and can do things on his own. Lucy wants to prove that she can work in a male dominated grade. When the two get paired up to work on a construction job together sparks fly! Who will come out on top? Read this book asap to find out!!
I really love Delancey Stewart books. These are all great and love them. All have heart and read them right away. Love it.
I was given an Arc copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
I really liked this book! It was a cute love story with the added element of a treasure hunt!!
Will is from a big city and Lucy is a small town girl and is the foreman at a local construction company.
When Wills friend and former military buddy inherits a run down Inn in the small town he immediately hires Will. Then Will hires Lucy and falls for her.
Then in the middle of the Inn being built and Will and Lucy falling for each other is a treasure hunt!
This was a cute easy read and I’m excited to read the rest of the series!

I really enjoyed this small town / ex-military romance. The characters are all really fun, there's a bit of a mystery twist in the form of a treasure hunt and the banter is great. It's billed as an enemies to lovers romance, but it's easy on the enemies part. Will and Lucy are working together on a construction project and butt heads for a little bit before giving in to the intense attraction between them. Lucy is convinced he's going to run back to the big city, so she tries to keep Will at arm's length, but he fights his way in.
I loved the mystery twist, treasure hunt. I can't wait to see how it all ends and figure out exactly what the clues mean and where they lead to. I love the mix of old generation and new generation getting together to figure it out too. Marvin seems like he was such a fun dude. I really love Ernie too, he's such a great parental figure for Lucy, making sure she isn't guarding her heart too well. Too often we get books where the brothers/dads/best friends are protective to a fault, driving the MMC and FMC apart, but we didn't get that here. We just got a loving family who kept an eye on her.
Another part I thought was great was the grovel. I don't think I've ever seen an FMC grovel, and while it was a little corny, it was also super sweet and super Lucy and Will.
I'm really looking forward to completing this series. Matteo and Monroe are up next and I love a good single dad romance, add in a side of grumpy/sunshine and I'm all in.
Thank you to Netgalley and Delancey Stewart for this ARC.
I really enjoyed this flirty, slight slow burn and then steamy, small town romance with a mystery to it. Love Lucy and Will's chemistry and the relationships with the other characters. The story was well written and kept me hooked throughout. This is a series I can't wait to read more of.
There is a reason Delancey, Romancy, Banshee, & Antsy rhyme. Because Delancey latest romcom series debut had me laughing like a banshee and feeling antsy for more!!! Romance, Colorado, former Navy pilots, treasure, and a female main character that embodies killer perfection? I could not put this book down! Full of heart & humor, strong sense of family & community, AND an adventure to uncover a mystery! Dual POV + a HEA that guarantees a fantastic read!
Only a Fling by Ms. Stewart is Book #1 in the Kasper Ridge Series, but I was lucky enough to obtain Only a Summer today which I believe is the prequel to this series. Fortunately you don’t have to read it first because it didn’t lessen my enjoyment of Only a Fling. This was a fun and flirty small town romance (which has become one of my favorite genres of late). I really enjoyed Lucy and Will’s instant chemistry, but slow burn romance. But I have to say, it was also the supporting and secondary characters that made this a really pleasurable read for me. I loved Lucy’s grandfather so much and even though I hadn’t “met” Aubrey and Wiley yet, I felt like I knew them, as well as all the other characters. It was well written with a bit of mystery (there’s a secondary story line that’s really fun!), suspense, some drama and a whole lot of heart. I would definitely recommend it if you like small town romances like I do! I’m grateful to NetGalley to have been given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book for my honest opinion.
I am loving this series it is getting better and better each one. The chemistry is scorching hot and the story line gets better with each one I swear. Can’t wait for the next one.
This was a fun, romantic, dislike-to-lovers (wouldn’t consider it enemies-to-lovers), STEAMY kind of book which, I’ll admit, gave me the feels like I get from 80s rom-com cheesy HEA movies. If that’s what you’re in the mood for, pick this book up. There’s drama, mystery, miscommunication, and definitely some hot sex scenes!

Nothing special here. A typical storyline, complicated somewhat by a treasure hunt that doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the story. Perhaps it is meant to continue through multiple books in a series. There are a few patrons who I would recommend this book to, but overall I found it disappointing.

Lucy isn’t taken seriously as a woman in a male dominated field. Her construction company needs work, even if she has to listen to a city boy who has no idea what he’s doing. Will is sick of people not not believing in him. He decides it’s time to branch out on his own so he decides to take on renovations for a buddy’s resort.
Cute rom com. Absolutely adored Lucy’s Papa. Reminded me a bit of Maggie Moves On. Miscommunication bothered me a lot. Lucy labeled their relationship before it even began and Will just accepted it. Ends HEA but also a cliffhanger as you don’t find out the full story of the treasure hunt.
My new boss is a former fighter pilot and it should be illegal to be that hot. But this city boy condo builder doesn't know the first thing about construction in a place like Kasper Ridge.
Will hired me to oversee the renovation at the old Kasper Ridge Resort a job that will make my company and guarantee that Papa can live comfortably to a very old age. I just need to keep my eyes on the prize.
And the prize is not Will Cruz's ocean blue eyes or those rock hard abs. Besides, all those muscles and that killer smile are temporary. I've lived in the mountains long enough to know that slick city boys don't stick around for the long run.
So I tell myself the things I need to hear to stay strong, hold firm, maintain my distance.
Until Will kisses me one night and I forget pretty much everything I'd been telling myself about protecting my heart.
Really enjoyable read totally recommend
