Great introduction to mindfulness and using deep breathing to calm down.

The story is wonderful and the images had so many fun details to look at. I love this for a before nap or before bed story

So cute and endearing. I have a thing for sloths and this book was perfect 😂 a must-read for toddlers (and those young at heart) who need a lesson in patience. I loved the illustrations and I could imagine Mr. Sloth taaaaaking hisss tiiiimeeee to do everry singgglleee thiiiing. 🥰 Patience, along with living in the moment to stop and smell the flowers, is such a rare but important skill to have especially in today’s age.

With the cutest lessons, friends and a very important lesson for patience. Sasha with her best friend, Sloth learn that it's normal to be angry when you have to wait for something you're excited to do. The tips in the back with ways to help you calm down were definitely a bonus.

Wow. Wow. Wow. There is something magical about this children's book. First very unique. Second the illustrations are so stunning they draw you in instantly I mean from the very first second your eyeballs see the first page. Then this story, I've read so many children's books but I have never read one that grabbed me like this story. It's a story of life skills and one of the most important yet, patience. In my life, I feel like my life story is about waiting, and as an adult I needed this story.

It shows how we all need to learn the skill of not letting things that are not falling into our timetable destroy the fun of things, or the beauty of living. One of my favorite parts was WHILE YOU WAIT page to teach when those feelings come up how to deal.

Beautiful book, with beautiful illustrations by Kathy Hudson.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher Capstone for the opportunity to read and review Waiting on Mr.s Sloth by Katy Hudson a most stellar book. What a showcase of talent. She will help many friendships and relationships for children who hopefully will get gifted this book. I know now it will be a most gifted book from me to the children in my life.

What an adorable and very relatable story for children and parents alike! Parents of small children can undoubtedly relate to Sasha as she waits for Mr. Sloth to get ready for their day of swimming. This story both normalizes frustration and anger, and gives wonderful tools for calming down, things to do while waiting, and dealing with frustration.

The illustrations are so very cute and certainly make this an engaging and fun read all around. This would make an excellent addition to any classroom, public library, or home shelf collection.

Thanks to NetGalley and Capstone for the privilege of reading this delightful ARC. .

Waiting on Mr. Sloth is a fantastic book. The illustrations are beyond cute and the helpful message it opens for discussion is great for kids and parents. My littles have zero patience. They want what they want and want to go where they want to go right then and there, no questions asked so this opened up the floor to talk about waiting and how it can look from both ends.

This book is⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ all the way.

-great illustrations.
-friendship.
-helpful tips in the back to of the book on waiting.
-important message on what you can do when you don't want to wait.

Thank you Netgalley and Capstone for eARC, these opinions are my own.

I love this book. First it is a sloth and girl who are friends love that. I like the idea that the little girl is having a hard time waiting for the sloth and she is having a hard time with that. That shows that waiting is not easy to do but it pays off. The pictures are beautiful.

Waiting on Mr. Sloth by Katy Hudson was one of the cutest stories I have read in a long time. I think that children will love Mr. Sloth's slow motion talking and the pictures are adorable and funny.

This story teaches children that even though you may want to do something with your friend, your friend might have other plans. It is important to breathe and talk it through. I also loved the tips at the end of the story.

A wonderful story that should be incorporated into the classroom to teach mindfulness.

Waiting on Mr. Sloth by Katy Hudson features beautiful illustrations and a story that I’m sure will seem familiar to any parent, teacher librarian, or person who spends time with little ones. Being patient can be hard and when we don’t get what we want, it can be even harder. This sweet book explores dealing with feelings of frustration and anger, apologizing, and friendship. I loved how the author also had a list of tips on what to do to stay patient while waiting. Ultimately, it was well written, had great illustrations, and was a learning opportunity for kids.

Parents of impatient children, look no further! This beautifully illustrated book is a reminder that sometimes, good things come to those who wait - and there’s a cute little sloth in there to deliver the message better than any parent could. My 5 and 7 year old children were enamored with Mr. Sloth but definitely related to the main character’s plight. We especially liked the ending which - no spoilers - included a list of things to do while you’re waiting.
