I really enjoyed this book! The characters were great and I was curious to see how things were going to play out in the end. I think this is technically part of a series, but this is the first one I've read in the Savage Wells collection. I wasn't lost, but do want to read the other books to learn more about the other characters. I recommend foe fans of historical romance!
#BookRevew: WYOMING WILD by Sarah M. Eden
I don’t usually read the western genre, but I wanted to give this a try since I have enjoyed the author’s other books. I can say that the writing was good. But I wasn’t really invested in the story in the beginning. There were also many characters. I still think that it was still well paced. It got interesting when Hawk arrived in Sandy Creek as an undercover.
I didn’t like the idea of an abusive father and sheriff. However, I am glad that there were helpful and compassionate people, such as Liesl. I liked her strong character. Despite being in danger, Liesl was ready to bring down her corrupt father.
The fake relationship between Hawk and Liesl was challenging and sweet. The story focused more on seeking justice. It was a guessing game on who was the mastermind and the traitor until the end. It was full of action and adventure. The risks Liesl took were scary but worth it. I enjoyed Paisley’s sweet and tough character too. Overall, I am pleased that I read Wyoming Wild. Sarah M. Eden’s fans will enjoy it.

If someone is looking for a sweet, suspenseful western, this is clean even for their teens, this would be a perfect fit!
I love the western setting, I am a big western fan! (This whole series is so fun!)
I loved all the characters and their fight against the bad guys!
The romance between Liesl and Hawking is sweet and 100% clean!
I could have had mooooore romantic moments between them, woven through-out the story, personally, what can I say? I'm greedy for the love haha. But it was cute and I was excited for their HEA!
I would recommend this book to fans of:
-hidden identity trope
-US Marshal meets sheriff's daugher
-fake relationship for a minute
-action and adventure!
-mystery
-western shoot out!
-sweet romance

First off WOW!! ❤️ I’ve never read a historical romance like this. I thought the idea of this book was so fun & the suspense was 🙌🏼. I quickly fell in love with Leisl & Hawk and felt like I was in an old west movie with them. Leisl is so strong dealing with her corrupt father & Hawk finally realizes he can have a family while still being US marshal in the end. It made me so happy. ☺️ If you’ve never read a western based book, this is one you should try! ❤️
I was sucked into this story and managed to make it a priority in my busy life, finishing in record time! Sarah M. Eden's skill at developing characters and compelling stories shines in this new installment in her Savage Wells setting. This book can stand alone, but the depth you get from knowing the other characters' stories adds a lot. This was an action-filled, exciting story with big-hearted characters!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are completely my own.
I almost didn’t want to start this book because I knew it would end! But I was not disappointed one bit reading this amazing story. I loved every page. There is adventure, banter, and smart, strong characters.
I love how the author writes women. Liesl and Paisley (who I loved from the other two books) are wonderfully strong characters. Liesl has been through so much with her horrible father. As soon as she was on the page, instantly loved her. Tansy just makes me smile. She is one of my all time favorite characters.
All of my favorite characters are back. When Paisley and Cade were in the page, it reminded me how to fabulous book one was.
The climax of this book is one I won’t forget for a long time. The way Sarah Eden writes hers characters and plots are genius.
A brave heroine. A handsome, roguish lawman. A sweet love story with suspense. That’s what you can expect when you read this engrossing new clean western romance from Sarah M. Eden.
Wyoming Wild’s narrator is Liesl, a kind-hearted, intelligent young woman with a corrupt father (who also happens to be the sheriff) who she wants to unseat to protect the town and the people she loves. But she doesn’t know whom to trust.
Soon, she crosses paths with a US Marshall – but can he be trusted to help her? Sparks soon fly in this absorbing page-turner you won’t want to put down.
With complex characters, a memorable love story, and compelling prose, Wyoming Wild is must-read fiction for fans of wholesome but suspenseful love stories. If you enjoy Dr. Quinn or the new TV series Walker: Independence, this book is for you.
Adaptation Recommendation: Wyoming Wild would make an excellent TV series (either as a limited miniseries or as a full-blown television show). With intriguing characters, memorable villains, and an entertaining romance, it has all the right elements to hook an audience. It would be perfect for Hallmark.
Content Note: The love story is G with mild PG-like violence.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This third installment about the people of Savage Wells brings us the story of Marshal Hawk, who is certain he will never marry. After all, his job is quite dangerous. But he can’t help but admire Liesel and her fortitude in fighting he corruption in her town—corruption led by her father.
Liesel really liked Hawk’s cover identity. Too bad he turned out to be deceiving her. And he’s a lawman—someone she inherently doesn’t trust, due to her father’s corruption.
Naturally, they have to work together to solve the problem. And Liesel’s continued bravery and compassion can’t help but make an impact on Hawk. And his strong drive for justice impresses her. Will those be enough when Liesel is constantly being asked to put her life on the line?
It was nice to see Hawk, who has been a relatively minor character until now, get his moment. And Liesel is a worthy partner for him.
It is also good to see the continuing development of the relationships of Cade and Paisley, and Gideon and Miriam. Sadly, Paisley’s father continues to deteriorate, and there are some sad scenes there.
I’m hoping the next installment in this series will feature Andrew, the shy and damaged former Civil War soldier.
Possible Objectionable Material:
Domestic violence, corruption, greed, danger.
Who Might Like This Book:
Those who like books set in the West during the Westward Expansion. Those who enjoy towns with quirky characters. Fans of strong female characters who aren’t defined by their gender.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Villainous Western
Wyoming Territory, 1876
John Hawking (Hawk): US Marshal, well trained, used to danger, dependable team, heart locked away.
Twenty-three-year-old, Liesl Hodges:
Slave to her no-good sherrif father, heart for people, expert eavesdropper & headed for trouble.
This book definitely has an old Western movie feel to it.
QUOTABLE:
"Liesl was never shocked by what she heard the men discuss: bank and train robberies, prison breaks, bribery, stealing, killing."
There is plenty of action, a building romance, women who shoot, and unexpected twists that I liked.
I recommend this book for those who like a clean, Western romance fraught w/danger and I am grateful for the chance to review the ARC provided to me by the publisher.
All opinions are mine alone, without compensation or expectation.

“Wyoming Wild” by Sarah M. Eden
American West Historical Crime-Suspense-Romance
Yup, by the time I was approaching the end of chapter 1, I knew I had a winner to read. I was not disappointed. The core of the story is crime, the suspense keeps you hooked, and the blending in of a growing romance, was the icing on the cake. And for book clubs there are a set of discussion questions at the end. To bad I do not know of any book clubs near me. Happy Reading ! !
NOTE: This review expresses my honest opinion.
I received an ARC of this story from the publisher via NetGalley.
One thing I love about Sarah Eden's writing is her ability to create strong characters, and I especially enjoyed how the unique way each character spoke pulled me right into the story. The author creates a vivid painting of the historical world, and I loved how characters from past books were pulled into the story as well.
My main issue with Wyoming Wild was I didn't like the romance. It felt forced and confusing, and although the author set up some great opportunities to play out the romance, my expectations fell short.
Overall, Wyoming Wild is a great addition to the series. Beautiful cover. Beautiful writing. A great read for those who enjoy sweet historical romance and vivid characters.
This was a very good Western romance. It is obviously part of a series, but the reader is not expected to know the previous stories. This review may contain spoilers.
This is a stand alone story of a US Marshall who has a team of deputy marshalls in the eastern territory of Montana. The hero is conducting his business when he receives an anonymous telegraph stating that there is a murder plot to get him. He turns his investigation to one of the remote towns of his territory. He and his female deputy Marshall pretend to be a brother and sister that bought property and moved into the area. The heroine is the sender of the telegram. Her father is an abusive and corrupt sherrif who had his own son beaten to death by his partners. Once that happened, the heroine's mother became a shadow of her former self. The heroine had to take over the household chores and that included feeding her father and his co-hosts lunch every day. She would hear of their evil plans and try to help the local families. One corrupt plan was that when a family bought their farms, it was listed with another persons name and the actual purchasers were listed as tenants. And then the people were taxed to the point they couldn't pay and were beaten or killed, with the women raped and children abused. The heroine would try to give them money or help them hide from the 'tax collectors".
This was an intriguing story about corruption and how evil people.can be stopped. It was an excercise in bravery and inner strength. I give this story 5 stars and a recommendation to red.
I sped through this book so fast! It kept my attention so well! I had not planned to apply for this one on NetGalley due to busyness but I’m so glad I did! I loved the lessons the characters learned and the mercy Liesel showed to her father despite what he had done to her and her mother. I also loved how protective John was!!!
I received an eARC from netgalley, all opinions are my own
Wyoming Wild by Sarah M. Eden is book 3 the Savage Wells series and includes hidden identity, found family, and a healthy dose of suspense.
I loved returning to the world of Savage Wells and being reunited with all my favorite quirky characters! This town of misfits always comes through and never fails to provide exactly what the characters need in their lives. It was so fun to get to know Liesl, her loyalty, determination, her ability to keep a cool head in a tense situation, her unwillingness to give up despite all odds being against her. She is so strong and intelligent and has such a big heart! She is so well matched with Hawk!
My favorite part of this story was seeing Hawk grow and realize that it is possible to be loving and compassionate and still be a good Marshal. I loved that he was able to meet Liesl without the Marshal facade and began forming a relationship with her as just John. Sweet, funny, sensitive, vulnerable, John. I loved how throughout the story you would see both sides of his character and how Liesl named his soft side John and his gruff side Hawk. Seeing him reconcile the two and discover that he doesn’t have to compromise one for the other was so awesome. I loved that Liesl brought out his sensitive side and helped him soften without taking away any of his competency as a Marshal.
This is one of those stories where the main characters save each other. Hawk saved Liesl from the tyranny of her criminal father, and Liesl saved Hawk from a lifetime of loneliness and misery. I love that the town of Savage Wells was a haven for Liesl and her mom and how they were able to quickly find their place in the town and contribute in ways no one else could. I love that they were welcomed with open arms and protected from their past.
I really enjoyed the mystery woven throughout the plot. It was fairly complex and had a lot of moving parts that I had a hard time piecing together on my own. I loved that the answers were revealed to me at the same time they were revealed to the characters and were not predictable. There were so many side characters I had a hard time keeping track of them all, but I think the chaos of so many supporting characters is part of what made it so difficult to solve the mystery and was very fitting for the story. I thought the mystery and the romance were really well balanced.
Lastly I loved the dialogue! I love how the characters continually tease each other, I thoroughly enjoyed the slang and phrases that were very fitting for the time and setting.
Overall this is a fabulous story! I adore the characters, their growth and how well they compliment each other and make each other better is so sweet! I enjoyed the plot and the complex mystery. I thought the teasing was funny, the kisses were swoony, and the suspense had be dying to know how everything was going to come together in the end.
If you enjoy western romances, a healthy dose of mystery/suspense, deep characters who struggle to find with their strengths and weakness, and a fun quirky small town, you will love Wyoming Wild!
Sarah Eden's talent for developing exceptional characters cannot be denied. Hawk and Liesl have been hardened by the west and exceptionally hard life experiences. Yet, they manage to discover tenderness in each other. While I don't love all the lingo from this wild west adventure, I love seeing the characters rise to the challenges they face and overcome the odds. There was enough mystery to keep me guessing as the story progressed. I enjoyed becoming reacquainted with characters from previous books in the Savage Wells series. Paisley was so much fun and an integral part of this story. Now I just need to know more about the mysterious Mr. Larsen... Hope there is more to come!
When I picked up this book I wasn’t sure I was in the mood for a western romance. Yet the second I started reading it I was engrossed in the story, caught up in the threats that faced our main characters and could not put this book down. So, naturally, I read it in a single day. Not that I should be totally surprised, I mean this is a book by Sarah Eden.
This book follows the story of John Hawkins, otherwise known as Hawk, a U.S. Marshall in the west. When he receives a mysterious telegram implying someone is out to get him, he begins to investigate the source of the news and slowly begins to unfurl this winding puzzle of secrets. I loved getting to read Hawk’s story and getting to know Liesl throughout the course of the story. Her resiliency and strength in the face of extensive challenges has prepared her for toughest challenge yet. And in order to overcome this challenge, she has to combine forces with Hawk. I loved the forced proximity, high stakes and gripping story that held my attention and kept me glued to the book.
I had a blast reading this story and can’t recommend it enough. If you’re looking for an exciting, suspenseful story with romance intertwined with mystery and hidden dangers lurking around every corner, then this is a story for you! This can be read as a stand-alone or part of the series.
Many thanks to Shadow Mountain and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this story, all opinions are my own.
Read this if you love:
💛 forced proximity
💛 hidden identity
💛 pretend marriage
💛 swoony kisses
💛 mystery and suspense
VERDICT With lots of danger and intrigue, Eden’s latest will keep readers on the edge of their seats, but constant threats tend to dim the fragile romance between Hawk and Liesl. This historical romance is a stand-alone novel, but fans of Eden’s The Sheriffs of Savage Wells will be happy to see so many familiar faces return to action here.
The full review was originally published in Library Journal, February 2023, v. 148, no. 2, p. 61.
Liesl Hodges can’t believe her luck when a good looking, charming, dependable farmer moves into town. Except he’s actually an undercover US Marshal investigating her corrupt sheriff father. Marshal Hawking doesn’t exactly consider it luck to meet brave, compassionate, resourceful, spine of steel Liesl. More of an unavoidable, unwanted distraction. Oh, but he’s a goner.
Initially I started to grumble a bit that I needed more internal conflict because we were going a teensy one-sided insta-lovey for my taste. But, when things are revealed, and Miss Liesl feels taken for a fool, we’re back to square one on Mr. Heart of Stone gaining her trust, and I was a happy camper. The scenario and dynamic changes, and I was very into it. I love a bit of roadtrip awkwardness and even a very competent US Marshal starts bumbling when the captivating star witness will not back down on calling him out. So fun. Loved the peril and mystery, loved the whole build-up to the climax and resolution. Loved the simple, straight-forward romance with its teasing banter and deep compatibility. And yet, I wish we knew more background on our hero John Hawking. I haven’t read the previous books, but our heroine wasn’t there either so, besides his strong, if not grumpy, leadership skills and other current virtuous qualities, she/we know very little of his past and what, besides his career choice pressures, causes his purportedly hardened heart. I wished we had a conversation or three about it, just to draw them even closer amidst the threats of life. But, still, they’re such a strong couple. Loved all the side characters and this town, definitely made me want to read the previous books.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.
Content warnings: toxic parent, mention of domestic violence.
I LOVE The Sheriffs Of Savage Wells SO much! And I love this town and it’s quirky characters like Tansy and Andrew. Wyoming Wild has everything you want in a Western:
🔫 Shoot out
🦹♂️ Criminals
🕵️♀️ Undercover Cop
💃🏼 Town Social
💰 Always comes down to money
🤨 who can you trust?
Liesl has endured her corrupt father for years that he’s been a sheriff. She helps when she can and spies the rest of the time. It’s exhausting, humiliating and terrifying. She overhears the newest nefarious plot of her father’s and his cronies and takes action.
John Hawkings has a reputation to uphold in his territory as the US Marshal. It’s been hard work but he never really had anything to lose.
This was a fast and fun read. It kept my interest from the beginning and lots of fun wit and lines. This book can be read as a stand alone but past book characters are mentioned frequently but you wouldn’t be lost without having read it - or if it’s been years like me. I wanted more swoony romance. What romance there was - was sweet but I felt like it was dropped in to meet the minimum requirements. This is a plot driven book, romance and character growth wasn't a priority. To be a 'Proper Romance', I expected more.
Can be a trigger:
Frequent mention of abuse: emotional and physical, beatings, death,
This book releases next month and thank you to the publishers for the paperback arc copy. These are my own thoughts and opinions.
As US Marshal for Wyoming Territory, John Hawking is used to death threats and assassination attempts. When he decides to investigate the latest warning, he finds the seed of corruption runs much deeper than he expected. With the help of his trusted deputies and a brave young woman, he must root it out at the source. That young woman is Liesl Hodges who, at great risk to herself, has been doing all she can to protect the people in her little town from a corrupt sheriff who is, unfortunately, her father.
What I love about this novel is there is just enough drama and suspense to keep you turning pages. It doesn’t devolve into sensationalistic melodrama. In true Sarah Eden fashion, the characters shine. The heroes are delightful, and the villains dastardly. Fans of Savage Wells will enjoy revisiting beloved characters from the first two installments. I know I did!
