A unique look into Warren Buffet and how he became a billionaire with his investments and about his humble beginnings.
Warren Buffett: Investor and Entrepreneur is a must-read for anyone interested in investing or business. Finkle's engaging writing style and his deep knowledge of Buffett's life and career make this book a valuable resource for investors, entrepreneurs, and anyone seeking inspiration from one of the most successful figures in history.
This is not a biography, this is a master class. Diving into facts and figures, tips and numbers. This is definitely a book I would like to give to anyone who loves money and getting more money.. Warren Buffet shows one can grow by buying wisely and still stay humble.
I have been an admirer of Buffett for many years and looked forward to reading Finkles' book on him and his life. The author has obviously studied his subject well as he provides much detail which provides a real insight into the man. For anyone interested in investing, this is your go to book. Otherwise this is a great book about a great man.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an advance copy of Warren Buffett. Highly recommended.
I decided to read this book as more of an introduction into Warren Buffett's life and mindset, before jumping into the Roger Lowenstein and Alice Schroeder biographies. This book provided that introduction well, but there was also a lot of repetition throughout that often made me feel I was rereading the wrong page.
The book is divided into 4 sections:
Part I: Early Life
Part II: Buffett's Secret Sauce
Part III: The History of Berkshire Hathaway
Part IV: Warren Buffett: The Person
I enjoyed the chapters more focused on Buffett personally and his mindset. I would have preferred the chapter on Buffett's Mistakes to have given more detail on how those investment mistakes could have been avoided if at all possible, rather than a simple descriptions of the mistakes he had made.
Overall I would recommend this book to someone new to Buffett and his style of investing.
I received my copy of this book from NetGalley in return of an honest review.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I have mad respect for the Oracle of Omaha henceforth. Todd Finkle does a great job of narrating Warren's life and his entrepreneur journey. It was wonderful to discover his journey and his nuggets was very insightful. I enjoyed learning about the man, his philosophies, values and I recommend this book to novice investors and beginners alike.

New and interested in investing? Curious to know about the one of the most successful investor and entrepreneur Warren Buffett? Look no further than Todd A. Finkle's 'Warren Buffet'. This book is a treasure chest of knowledge and it has all the more value and intimacy because Finkle is Buffett's family friend. Buffett's childhood and growth inspires the reader.
The biography is arranged in a chronological manner is also well separated into categories to detail the different phases of Buffett's investing journey - lessons from mentor Graham, friendship and partnership with Charlie Munger, Berkshire Hathaway etc., There is something for everyone in the book. If one doesn't want to be bothered with the numbers, they can still takeaway tips and points on various aspects like what one should look for in a partner, how one should view a company etc.,
The book in a nutshell is about investing ideologies (like scuttlebutt approach, value investing), influences on Buffett and an analysis on Buffett's successes and failures. Highly recommended for anyone interested in investing and Warren Buffett.
I just reviewed Warren Buffett by Todd A. Finkle. #WarrenBuffett #NetGalley
Warren Buffett undoubtedly is one of the well-known, the most respective and inspiring entrepreneurs. There are various of books about Warren Buffett and this is the one I would recommend.
The author Todd A. Finkle has presented Warren Buffett's life in a comprehensive way. Finkle is Buffett's family friend, therefore the perspective of this book will be on Buffett's early life and his business ventures. It composes Buffett's early life, his secret formula, the history of his company Berkshire Hathaway and his life advice.
I admire Buffett, before being the CEO & Chair of Berkshire Hathaway which was founded in 1964, he demonstrated his entrepreneurial hunger when he was 11 year-old. He had his first stock back then in 1942. The book also shared his investment ideas, his lifelong mentor, his investment methodology and for sure investment knowledge behind.
When I read this book, I have been understanding more about the financial world and the key to success based on Warren Buffett's entrepreneurial hunger. Being humble, gentle and generous is the beginning to success. He also advised, "if you keep track of your mistakes, it is possible to identify blind spots and correct for them."
If you can only read an inspirational investment book, "Warren Buffett - Investor and Entrepreneur" by Todd A. Finkle is the one I would recommend. Such a fascinating read!
Mr. Finkely does an excellent job on the biography about Warren Buffett. It not only goes into where he started from but also how he became a wealthy man and at the same time kept his integrity and his values. I have admired and followed Warren Buffett for years and am amazed how open he is to teaching people how they can invest in the stock market too. I liked how the book showed Mr. Buffett seek people who he admired and surrounded himself with people who cared and admired him, not for his wealth but what he represents. I like that he takes responsibility when he screws up and he tries to learn from his mistake. I also admire him for try to give to other and living humbly.
This book is very easy to read and follow, it does repeat itself slightly but you will learn a lot about Warren Buffett and what he thinks is important in living a excellent life.
I want to thank Columbia University Press, Columbia Business School Publishing and NetGalley for this book about a unique individual who I admire a lot.
This book is a good read if you are interested in other's professional life. Warren Buffett is a significant figure in business and investment arena and this book is write in a special way. The book is a good mix of personal author's experience with Buffett as well as some information from other sources. I have really enjoyed reading and learned a lot for my professional and personal development.
I usually do not read biographies, but this one is quite good and worth your time. I had to downgrade it because of this book's poor grammar.
