This YA thriller was overall a great read! When two teenage stepsisters are left overnight in a Tahoe cabin after their parents nuptials, there are a few awkward moments and some bonding moments. However, the power is knocked out early in the evening and a stranger (a teenage boy) knocks on the door looking for shelter. With an impending blizzard, the night promises for some scary situations!
There were a few situations that I felt were unrealistic, but the plot was gripping and the twists were shocking, so I think this book is still worth checking out!
Thank you @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for allowing me to listen to this audiobook ahead of publication in exchange for my honest review.

I couldn’t even finish this book it was so slow and disjointed the characters are infuriating and the plot just wasn’t interesting enough to keep me going.
The narration is ok, can clearly tell it’s the same voice doing both male and female parts which almost didn’t feel necessary.

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC!
I was in the mood for something thrilling, so here we are. Honestly, it wasn’t that thrilling, but I was still intrigued to read it given the characters’ circumstances. I felt like it was more of an adventure novel and I wasn’t disappointed. They were all secretive and flawed, even I didn’t know who to trust (except for Otis).
I have read my share of books where the characters were stranded in wildfires, so it was nice to see a similar approach with a blizzard. I liked seeing the different relationships between Alex, Lottie, and Jade and how they developed together and independently together. Was I able to connect to any of them? Not really, but I felt I didn’t have to because of such a plot-driven book. I love the fast pace and all the obstacles they faced on top of the storm. This was a great quick read!

This was a fun and easily bingeable wintery YA mystery thriller! Nothing super ground-breaking but was very atmospheric and the author did a fantastic job of creating that creeping sense of dread, and then added in the element of being stuck in a frozen wasteland. Some of the various storylines got a little jumbled for me, but that could be because I listened on audio and was not intensely tuned in to catch things, so this didn't affect my overall rating too much.

This is a sweet book that scared the crap out of me as a mom of teens. I will never leave my kids alone in an isolated cabin right before a snow storm.
I loved the characters. I really loved the dog too. He is a precious.
This is a great story of sisterhood and survival.
The ending was fantastic.

Lottie is supposed to spend the weekend at the cabin with her new step-sister, Jade, so they can develop a bond. But a solar flare causes a massive blackout, and when a stranger, Alex, shows up at the cabin, they are in for a load of trouble.
This is a good YA thriller, with a lot of suspense and a lot of tension (if you think it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen). It was a quick read with great narration.
I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Don't Let In The Cold starts with the main character, Lottie on her way to a cabin in Tahoe to meet her step sister, Jade. Lottie's mother and new step father leave them together and go on their honeymoon. The evening starts out okay but soon takes a turn when the two girls are watching the stars and see a solar flare that they soon realize caused a blackout. They try to stay want in the cabin as the snow starts to build up outside. Lottie and Jade cozy up for the night start awaiting the moment their parents would come home to come to their rescue. All is okay until someone comes to the door with their dog claiming to be lost and in need of shelter. The next morning a fire meant to keep them warm in the approaching blizzard catches the cabin a ablaze leaving the three near strangers out in the cold in search of shelter. The sisters soon realize the growing blizzard is just one of many problems and a search for shelter becomes more dire as they fight for their lives trying to hide from two mysterious men in a red truck, that seem to keep showing up. With no service and nowhere to go they have to work together to survive the blizzard for 3 days and hopefully make it out alive.
I typically don't read suspense novels but the description of this one caught my eye. I really enjoyed the story and the characters and the fact that i got to know the characters as they got to know each other. I think that added an extra something special to the story. That being said... I do think Lottie was very stupid to say the least. She should've never made it known to the men that the two girls were there alone. and she shouldn't have trusted Alex so easily.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. "Don't Let in the Cold" is a YA thriller which revolves around Lottie and her new step-sister Jade. Their parents leave them in a remote cabin in Tahoe while they go on their honeymoon. They are supposed to return the next day. The girls are supposed to hang around the fire and bond. However a surprise blizzard hits that night following a solar flare. A stranger and his dog try to come into the cabin to escape the cold, claiming they had gotten turned around in the storm after going for a walk. From there all kinds of chaos breaks loose. Is Alex who he claims to be? Lottie has her doubts. Soon the cabin is ablaze and the trio is cast out in the wilderness alone....except for mountain lions, bears and a couple of guys who seem to be after Alex. You really have to be willing to suspend your disbelief because this trio gets into all kinds of messes. The move from one situation to another in quick succession. Finding shelter or food or whatever else is needed for a brief reprieve before finding themselves in the path of another disaster. That said, this book was fun and fast paced. I enjoyed it quite a bit even when I struggled to believe the trio could still be alive at certain points. The book ended about the way I thought it would but this book is truly about all the stuff that happens between Alex showing up at their door and the conclusion. I think readers who enjoy thrillers and even a somewhat isolated adventure would enjoy this book Well written and engaging. I enjoyed especially seeing the sisters get to know each other in these extreme situations.

An EMP, scientists say it’s just a matter of time before we experience one big enough to do real damage to power grids all over the planet. Still, it’s not what Lottie and her new stepsister were expecting when they agreed to spend a night in an isolated cabin to get to know each other. All they can do is wait, but then there’s a knock on the door. Alex claims to be lost and begs the girls for shelter from the coming blizzard, but Lottie knows he’s lying. Then a fire at the cabin forces all three of them out into the storm where they will have to fight for survival, survival from the elements and survival from the human hunters tracking them through the night

For this being listed as a young adult book, I really enjoyed it. It was hard to believe all of this happening involved mainly underage kids but aside from that criticism I really enjoyed it. Narrator was good. Characters were like able. As usual, when I like an audio book I finish it within two days.

I think this cat and mouse book would be great for teens and young adults. However, I just didn't like it. The narration was great. I felt aggravated by the story from the very beginning. Lottie is forced to stay the weekend in a remote cabin with her new stepsister while her mom and new stepfather go on their honeymoon. The fact that these parents left these two girls alone, who have only met once really perturbed me, and my have clouded the rest of the story for me. I just could not get over that. Lottie and Jade are home alone when a solar flare causes them to lose power, and then a blizzard hits. A stranger knocks on thier door seeking shelter, and I cannot for the life of me understand why these girls let him in. The house ends up burning down, and Lottie, Jade, and Alex (the stranger) try to seek shelter to stay warm, but are chased by a group of boys who want something very valuable-something they are willing to kill to have. The trio has to not only try to stay warm in this storm, but also elude the group that is tracking them. I think the writing was great and descriptive; however, it wasn't really for me.
