This book was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The town and its people were so cute. I binged this audiobook in a day and will definitely be reading the other two books in the series. Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy to review.

Stella Bloom bought a Christmas tree farm she loved as a kid. But things have been glitchy and mishaps have caused financial stress. She enters a contests, where a huge social media influencer will come and promote the farm with a grand prize of $100,000, which the farm needs. To make it all sound more romantic she put on the application she runs the farm with her boyfriend. She turns to her best friend of the last ten years Luka Peters to fake a romance.

If you like small town romances, where not a whole lot happens, this is for you. Everyone knows each others comings and goings. The town is all extended family and support each other, for the most part. Everyone in town is thrilled the two are finally moving beyond friendship. Luka is the most yummy sweet man. He is snuggly, kind and can cook. Everything is from Stella’s POV so you get all her pent up longing. This is one of those stories where she’s loved him for so long but doesn’t want to mess up their friendship if things don’t workout. For me this got old and it didn’t help that I read a similar relationship in another book just this week.

I did like that things do get steamy between the two. The author can write good intimate scenes that are not overly graphic. But the angst moment felt a little ridiculous. The lack of communication between two besties stretches thin. I will add that I was given audiobooks and I was given the second book before the first one. Now I appreciate the second one a little more. In The Weeds gives you the influencer and Becketts story and which overlaps with this one. I enjoyed the narrator.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and B.K. Borison for audiobook in exchange for an honest review. (3.5 stars rounding up)

Lovelight Farms is not new to me it has been the darling of bookstagram since last winter and while I see the wholehearted appeal of this as a holiday romance, it brings the Hallmark vibes with edgier characters and steam, it just was missing something for me.

I adored Luca and Stella together, as a couple I loved reading about them and their friendship turned fake dating turned romance and it was all very sweet and tender and swoony, ticking all the boxes you want in a romance…but the part I couldn’t get around is I didn’t know who these two were as individuals, it felt very surface level, Stella particularly was so emo all the time and although we know why it just didn’t really feel believable there was a disconnect for me. And as for Luca our MMC I didn’t really know who he was besides who he was to Stella and this may be enough for many people it wasn’t enough for me I needed to see their character outside the friendship and I never got that.

Albeit there is an adorable small town setting and great side characters that I look forward to reading about.

In regards to the audio, which I was given an ALC of I didn’t love the narration and maybe that’s why certain things were missing for me, I found the voice to be a bit older sounding with an air of pretension and therefore didn’t find myself wanting to listen.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC all opinions are my own.

I enjoyed the Christmas coziness B.K. Borison provided with Lovelight Farms. Stella and Luca had amazing chemistry. I did wish there was more romance and, since it's noted as being a romantic comedy, more humor. Although I did enjoy the story, I barely laughed.

Pippa Jayne was a perfect narrator for this story. She added little nuances to her voice to make it hers, which I liked.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media for providing me with an ALC.

Thank you to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It's great for anyone who enjoys, fake dating, friends to lovers, and small town settings. I wasn't sure I would be in the mood for the Christmas atmosphere but I loved it. The relationship between Stella and Luca was everything I hoped for.

My biggest issue was the narration, I wish I didn't listen to this on audio. I had the hardest time listening and it really made it less enjoyable. I will be reading this book in physical format once it's released and giving it another shot.

I need more B.K. Borison books immediately!

Lovelight Farms is delightful and I loved Stella, Luca, and their friends to fake relationship to lovers story. This kind of story is everything I want from a romance and I’m very happy to have finally found the whole story since I got the ARC for In the Weeds first. It’s the perfect combination of sweet, romantic, and sexy set in a Stars Hollow type small town. It’s set during Christmas and on a Christmas tree farm, what more do we want here!? Hallmark could never.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the third book in this series, Mixed Signals!

I'd heard so many good things about this book that it inspired me to dip my toe into holiday reading in August, and all I can say is IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Lovelight farms is an absolute joy. It's a hug in book form. Stella runs a Christmas tree farm and is trying to win a contest to help keep the farm afloat. On the application, she says that she runs it with her (non-existent) boyfriend in order to make it seem more romantic, and asks her friend Luka to stand in as her boyfriend. I loved the entire cast of characters including baker Layla and farmer Beckett. I'm so thrilled this is a series because I never ever want to leave Inglewild.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the ALC!

Swoon!! I absolutely adored Luca and how protective and affectionate he was. He was always trying to cuddle and I loved it.⁣

Yes I read a Christmas book in September and yes I freakin adored it. It was as sweet as hot cocoa and it melted my heart. I think I was smiling almost the whole time and it got me in my feels towards the end. ⁣

Fake dating, best friends to lovers, amazing friends, kittens, a small town, all the swoonworthy holiday romance and the best steam. I was here for those steamy scenes.⁣

The narration was perfect and I loved that the narrator changed their voice for each character. It was really enjoyable.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was not at all what I expected, but good grief, it was charming.

Full disclosure: if you had asked me what I wanted to do as a child, owning a Christmas store was #1 on my list, so a Christmas tree farm? Already loving it.

Now, the blurb is misleading. Evelyn St. James, the influencer, does not appear until 68% into the book. And even then, she’s a blip. It’s basically setup for the next book.

This is a story about Stella and Luka—pure and simple. And despite misunderstandings and holding themselves back, the miscommunication trope is absent, which I love. Their relationship is healthy and (mostly) honest.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook. The narrator is AMAZING for this book. Her lilt and intonation is perfect for Stella (nicknamed Lala). Do yourself a favor and pick up the audiobook.

Lovelight Farms (Lovelight #1)
B. K. Borison
Stella Bloom fell in love with the Christmas tree farm when she was a child. She purchased the farm with high hopes however it hasn’t been easy a field of trees have died, shipments have disappeared, someone is vandalizing the place and there is a critter in Santa’s barn. The farm is in trouble financially. Evelyn St. James is an influencer; she is having a contest the prize is $100.000 and free publicity. The money will save the farm and the publicity will increase customers. On the entry form Stella lied, she said she and her boyfriend owned Lovelight Farms but there is no boyfriend.
This is a quick read but one that will leave you with a warm heart.

This book is a peppermint mocha in written form! So warm and sweet and comforting. I just want to cozy up in a blanket with a warm beverage and read this book over and over. It truly gave me all the holiday feels.

Lovelight Farms tells the story of Stella who owns a financially troubled Christmas tree farm. In order to save the fame she enters a contest set up by an online influencer, but to make the farm seem more romantic, she says she owns the farm with her boyfriend. Problem is, she is single. So she asks her best friend of a decade, Luca, to pretend date her. It's great. The book has it all. Small town feels, friends to lovers, fake dating. I loved every moment of it!

I listened to the audio and really enjoyed the narration!

If you're looking for a great holiday romance, check this out! I am definitely going to read the others in the series!

Usually I am a huge season reader, but this isn’t a Christmas book it’s just set in the winter. Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes ever, and this did not disappoint. Stella and Lukas relationship was so warm and cozy. BK Borison wrote another compelling book, the narrators were great and I cannot wait to listen again during the winter.

This book was so cute!! I love a book set during the holidays. The "fake dating" trope is always a fun one. It was, of course, a bit predictable, but I loved it!

Christmas; Fake dating; Friends to lovers; Friends with benefits; Holiday; Small town; Winter Vibes

Adorable and sweet plot but it didn't do anything dramatically new.

Stella and Luka's friendship is just so sweet and pure. Best friends with routines, inside jokes and definitely sexual tension.

Money is tight and Stella applies to have her Christmas tree farm entered in a social media contest which would result in more media attention as well as a possible cash prize. Stella is so excited when she realizes she's been selected but starts to panic when she remembers she had said she ran the Christmas tree farm with her boyfriend. She ends up asking Luka to pretend to be her boyfriend. After an intense " cuddling " session one night... they decide to go ahead and allow themselves to have all the perks of dating for the week. Their romance takes off.. but Stella isn't willing to lose her best friend... And is afraid to let it continue.

I absolutely loved this book. Everything about it. The banter back and forth, the spicy scenes... The friends to lovers. This is the perfect book. Since I had already read the second one, it was fun to see how they set it up for In the Weeds.

I can't wait to read the last book!

Talk about swoon-worthy romance right here! This fake relationship, best friends to lovers story about a Christmas tree farm owner entering a social media contest for a huge prize is the stuff of romance readers dreams!!

Fake relationship is my favorite trope. Add in best friends to lovers, and this is magical. Everything else in this book is the icing on the cake - the social media contest, the employees at the Christmas tree farm that are more best friends and like family, the family of kittens (so adorable!), the town rallying to show up when it really counts, and even the influencer running the contest being a really cool person, with all of the craziness happening. My fave thing, of course - and you know in a best friends to lovers scenario this is always the case - is how much these two were hopelessly in love even before the story started, and everybody else knew it but them.

BK Borison is a brilliant storyteller, and not only was this a great story, it was extremely well written and so deserving of this 5-star review! The length was exactly right for the story that needed to be told. She also has the perfect narrator, Pippa Jayne, who is new to me but I enjoyed so very much! I’m looking forward to jumping right into the next book and hearing more from Pippa Jayne, and plan to look up more that she’s done (she sounded really great)!

I definitely highly recommended this book to everybody (as much as the ebook was recommended to me, but I’m glad I waited for audio), and I’m sure I will love the next one as much. I’m starting it tomorrow!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, and this is my honest feedback.

This was such a sweet warm and cozy feeling book to read! It is very much a romance centred novel that follows Stella and Luka with more feelings than comedy. That's not to say I didn't laugh a lot while reading it, but I found myself saying "awe" a ton more throughout the book. There were so many sweet swoon worthy moments that made me fall in love with the characters but also the season of Christmas and all the warm cuddly feelings that come with it. An awesome read for Christmas!

This book is EVERYTHING! I love the character as individuals and together. The side characters are gold. The tropes Friends to Lovers and Fake dating.

The spice is perfection!

The writing is funny, serious, real, relatable, captivating, heartbreaking, and more.

I love that it's a Christmas time story without being Christmas- y or cliché.

The audio is clear and easy to understand at any speed. The voices match the characters and I just love all of it.

I honestly have no complaint except that I am mad at myself for not reading this sooner! I can't wait to continue the series. I don't want it to end.

Short synopsis: In an effort to save her beloved Christmas Tree farm, Stella signs up to be featured on an influencers Instagram page. But when signing up she accidentally on purpose said she owned the farm with her boyfriend. Problem is…. Stella doesn’t have a boyfriend.

My thoughts: Friends to lovers and fake dating? SIGN ME UP!

What a perfect holiday romance! Perfect mix of humor, snow melting steam, and huggable moments without the typical holiday cheesiness.

I loved Stella and Luka, and their chemistry was so apparent from the beginning. The side characters also added so much to this story, I can’t wait to get some more of them in the follow up stories.

Read if you love:
* Holiday romances
* Best friends to lovers
* Fake dating
* Cuddly cats and kittens
* The smell of pine

I listened to this on audio and loved the experience. The narrator did such a fabulous job! Can’t wait to read/listen to the rest of this series. Thank you so much @dreamscapemedia and @netgalley for this advance audiobook!
