I know so many of you have already read this one, but if you haven't, and you love holiday romance books, then pick it up!! I loved this book/audiobook so much. I thought the narrator was really good. Basically like a Hallmark movie. I always enjoy these kind of books! A fun and lovable cast of characters. Stella enters a social media contest to have her Christmas tree farm featured, but she also said that she owns it with her boyfriend. Only thing is, she actually doesn't have a boyfriend. So she has her 10yr bff Luka pretend to be her boyfriend. Then the fake feelings, turn into real feelings. Just really cute book. There's some steam but nothing too crazy. I definitely want to read the other books in this series.
Thank you to dreamscape media and netgalley for the gifted audiobook.
This book is so good! this story is impeccable, give me all the fake dating all the friends to lovers! Luka is literally a perfect human and I am madly wildly in love. Just let me go start A CHRISTMAS TREE FARM!!!!!! also the narration is done so well. fully did this story so much justice.
Holy bananas. I’m so mad I haven’t read this series before now. I know, I know it’s September and I’m reading about a Christmas tree farm. But honestly I don’t care. This book was perfection.
I loved Stella and Luka. Y’all I think I’m actually really starting to like some friends to lovers stories 😱 Truthfully my only wish is we got more from Lukas POV.
I read this book in a day. Luka was so sweet and you could tell that he really enjoyed being there for Stella and taking care of her🥰 I thought this book was well written and gave me all the feels.
However, I was not a fan of the narrator for this book. If I hadn’t already read this book, I think this would have taken a little away from the story for me.
I’m giving it 4 stars because of the narration, but I gave it 5 when I read the book!

I received early access to this audiobook thanks to @netgalley and @dreamscape_media for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this book! From the soothing narration by Pippa Jayne to the loveable characters created by @authorbkborison. The characters are brought to life and one becomes vested in their hopes and dreams. A companion book to In the Weeds, we get the opportunity to learn more about Stella and her life. Just as I thought for In the Weeds I could see this as a Hallmark movie. This is not a negative because I love those movies! I easily recommend this book!
Fake dating and a tree farm romance... I mean, what else could one ask for? It's so cute. It's a small town romance about two best friends, Luca and Stella who pretend to date to fool a social media influencer into featuring the Christmas tree farm on her hugely popular blog.
On the way to the HEA is a fun cast of characters, including estranged family, small town busy bodies, a family of cats and a whole bunch of sequel-bait.
My thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advance copy of this audiobook. Can't wait to read the rest of this adorable series.

When I requested this book I had no idea that this was part of a series, but I'm so excited now to read the other books! This book was really good and not overly cheesy romance. I loved the small town charm of this book and I would love to visit Stella's farm if it were a real place! I really liked all of the characters, even the side characters. The dynamic between the main characters, Stella and Luka is different than most other romances in the sense that they've known and been best friends for almost 10 years. My only flaw with this book is that it felt like it dragged at times and Stella's dumb brain overprocessing her love for Luka (and her assumption that he doesn't and couldn't love her) was annoying. I did enjoy the ending with the air fresheners though and thought that was super cute.
This felt like a standard hallmark romance...and unfortunately I did not believe in the friends to lover's trope when something cute or flirty would happen between the main characters and our narrator would deny that she could ever be seen as more than a friend. It was repetitive and didn't show a lot of character development for the reader. Overall I enjoyed the story but I will probably forget about it within a few weeks.
4/5 - Book #1 of Lovelight Farms; Audiobook via eARC; Available eBook on Kindle Unlimited.
This was a super cute friends to lovers & fake dating romance! You get a Christmas vibe to it as well which I’m always a fan of! The spice was rather tame, but mostly detailed, so it added to the romance, but didn’t heat it up necessarily.
I really liked the narrator, Pippa Jayne. She did good with the female and male characters, and I thought she really gave enunciation and pauses at times that really added to the storyline. Overall, really enjoyed this book and excited to continue the series!
Brief Plot: When Stella enters her financially straining Christmas tree farm into a social media contest, she has to find a fake boyfriend she previously entered the contest to have helped co-run her farm. Enter her best friend Luka, and in any great rom-com, they both have been secretly in love with one another their whole friendships. As they get comfortable with fake dating, their emotions and chemistry are all to real, and Stella has to decide whether she is ready to go back to being just friends with Luka, or trying for more.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscapes Media for an eARC copy of this audiobook, in exchange for my honest review!
I’m only going to post here because I feel like I’d like this as a read only. I listened to the audiobook and I just don’t care for this narrator. The voice just didn’t fit the story.
Thanks Dreamscape Media via Netgalley.
3.5 - this was cute story and a great start to a series! I loved getting to know Stella and Luca! And their story was so cute! I will always smile when I see a pine air fresher!! I loved getting to know the Christmas tree farm it was described in beautiful detail and I would of loved to go there at Christmas time! Stella was a great FMC strong but also after trying to do it all she finally leans on her friends and the author did a great job of setting up the characters for the next book in the series! Sometimes this felt a little hallmarky but it did have some steamy moments! Stella drove me a little crazy sometimes with her own stubbornness of not accepting Luca could really like her, but I think why she thought that was explained really well! This was fake dating, friends to lovers, small town, Halloween - Fall setting on a the most adorable farm!
I was excited yesterday to get notice that NetGalley and Dreamscape Media approved me for this audio. And then I realized it actually released yesterday! CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!
What a wonderful debut! I love a good fake dating and friends to lovers book and this one really fit the bill!
Stella Bloom fulfilled her dream and owns Lovelight Farms. She loves almost everything about it.
Except the dying trees, the racoons that are taking over her barn, and the shipments that keep turning up missing. She's struggling financially and enters a contest being run by her favorite influencer in hopes of taking home the big cash prize and having the money she needs to save Lovelight Farms. There's one little problem. On her application for the contest, she said she owns and Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. And our sweet Stella doesn't actually HAVE a boyfriend.
Luka has been Stella's BFF for years. She asks and he agrees to pretend to be her boyfriend and hopefully they will win the contest. They plan to pretend for a week or so, fool the influencer, and go about their lives. But they may fake things a little too well. Feelings start to creep up and Stella starts to freak out. Watching them navigate from fake relationship to what the heck is happening here is fun to watch!
This is everything I want in a sweet romance! The narrator was amazing. I loved both Luka and Stella. The supporting characters were perfect and, since I see there are follow up books, I'm hoping to see some of their stories. There was a little holiday aspect to this book, but not so much so that it wasn't a great read any time of year!
Lovelight Farms seemed charming and inviting and, were it real, I'd be visiting! I can't wait to read the remaining books in this series. And I will be watching for anything new from this author.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for my (last minute LOL) advance audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
Lovelight Farms is a sweet holiday romance that takes place on a Christmas tree farm. The farm isn’t doing great financially, so I’m attempt to save the business, Stella, the owner, enters a contest with an Instagram influencer that will get the farm publicity AND some needed cash. The catch? Stella wanted to make the farm seem more romantic so she said she owned it with her non-existent boyfriend. Luckily her best friend Luka is willing to step in and be her fake boyfriend.
Oh my goodness this book was so fun and cute. First of all, how perfect of a setting is a Christmas tree farm. I loved everything about that! This was such a sweet friends to lovers and I was rooting for Stella and Luka the whole time. This one was so fun and heartwarming I listened to it all in one day! I'm so excited to read more from this author. Pippa Jayne did a great job with the narration on this one and really added to the magic of this book.
I absolutely loved this audiobook and the narrator who read it. This book was a super cute romcom about Stella, who is a Christmas tree farm owner. Stella enters a contest to have her farm featured and win a money prize, but on her entry into the contests lies about owning the farm with her boyfriend. Only issue is that Stella does not actually have a boyfriend.
Stella asks her best friend of 10-years, Luka, to fill the role for one week while the social media influencer is in town to pick the finalist in the contest. Pretending to be in a relationship might be a slippery slope! This friends to lovers romantic comedy was so good and flowed beautifully.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced audio copy of this book in exchange for my honest review and opinion.

Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison
Thank you to @dreamscape_media and @authorbkborison for the opportunity to read this #eARC #audiobook! 💚🎄
Stella Bloom’s tree farm is in chaos. She’s had shipments go missing, some damage to the farm, and a takeover of the Santa barn by some particularly persistent raccoons. In an effort to save her business and dream, she enters a contest with famous and respected influencer Evelyn St. James. The prize is not only positive press that would place the Christmas tree farm firmly on the map but also a $100k cash prize. There’s only one small catch - she might have mentioned a boyfriend on her application. She turns to her best friend Luka Peters to play the role of fake boyfriend. Will they pull off the task or will she fall head over mistletoes for her bff?
My first holiday read of the season did not disappoint! This was absolutely delightful. The love and respect these two had for each other was as delicious as Layla’s bear-claws. I can’t wait to tear into Beckett and Layla’s books - and I have to say this is the way to do a trilogy! This is exactly what I want in a romance novel - a fun, light, airy story and then a slightly spicy love story. This is the perfect book to read mid to late November to get you ready for the holiday season. I highly recommend.

I am late to the party but I am finally here. For the last 12 months I'd been subjected to a good deal of Lovelight series gushing, lots of IYKYKs. But that's the issue! I did not know what these people were talking about and I was curious. What about the tree shaped car fresheners? What's the deal with strawberries and shortbread cookies? See I was willing to give into the hype and pay for the damn KU but my unread books would never forgive me because I know I'd be reading solely indie romances. Imagine my surprise when the author announced the audiobooks. I enjoy romance novels. I enjoy them even more in audio format.
First of all, BK Borison writes about dreamy men. Both Luka (cinnamon roll hero) and Beckett (hot grumpy farmer) are selfless men, devoted to their families. One cooks mean Italian dishes, the other is a reluctant pet parent. I should also give credit to the ladies Stella and Evelyn: Stella for working hard for her dream and Evelyn for not giving up on her search for "her happy"
Second, she writes about this small charming town Inglewild and all its residents so lovingly.
Third, her writing is very vivid but soft and cozy and comforting at the same time.
If you are a romance reader and not living under the rock you'd know about the following but here is a quick recap: While Lovelight Farms is a slow burn best friends to lovers, fake dating holiday romance; In the Weeds is one night stand, second chance, grumpy sunshine. The latter is a dual POV.
Both were easy reads that made me smile and swoon but my favorite between the two is In The Weeds. I was able to feel the chemistry between Beck and Evie more. Also I may have liked Beckett more.
Now the negatives: In both books, 3rd act break-up/fight felt unnecessary or rather I didn't like the reasons behind the conflicts.
Audiobook narrators were good but if I had to critique their performance I'd say the female narrator sounded overly emotional.
I am looking forward to reading Layla and Caleb's book Mixed Signals. Bring in all the baking Layla, I am ready
4.5 Stars
I’m normally am not a fan of friends to lovers… I’m more of an enemies to lovers fan, but this book is probably one of my favorite friends to lovers trope. Perfect for the holiday season coming up, it takes place on a Christmas tree farm where Stella, our main character, has lied on an competition application, saying that she owns her Christmas tree farm with her “boyfriend”. Luca is the best friend, and has been pining for Stella for almost a decade, and happily agrees to be her fake boyfriend to help win the social media competition. They decide to do a trial run, and a decade worth of unresolved feelings, bubbles to the surface. They finally can see what the entire town has known all along!
Luca and his family were absolutely heartwarming and I loved how much he cared about Stella. It was exciting to get to meet Stellas co-owners of the farm knowing that will eventually get their love stories too! I really enjoyed this, especially on audio, and I can’t wait to finish the rest of the series.
OK. This one was really charming! Friends to lovers AND fake dating AND small-town troupes. Sign me up. The sexual tension through the first half of the book is off the charts. This is a perfect holiday read that isn’t too much holiday in your face. Stella owns a Christmas Tree Farm that is struggling to make ends meet. She enters a contest on social media but lies on one thing on her application. That she is dating Luka, her best friend and that he is helping her run the Farm. Luka agrees right away to pretend to date Stella. What do YOU think happens? This is the start of a series, and I can’t wait to read the rest of them! This book gives all the feels and the steamy parts don’t hurt either.
Absolutely loved this book. It is a reread for me but first for the audio. Loved the small town, the tree farm and all of the feels. Absolutely love the new cover as well. Super excited to start In The Weeds now.
I did like the narrator but she also wasn’t my favourite.
Goodreads review:
Hello, friends to lovers, fake dating, small town characters that give the whimsy of a Star Hallows!
The story didn’t feel formulated, it even surprised me at parts where a more predictable love story might go it did it’s own thing and was better for it. I adore this book!
This book is pure perfection! If you read one holiday read this year, this one is the one! Though it’s so rereadable, the holiday is more a background.
It’s official I have a new book boyfriend. Our FMC is relatable, kind, and did not annoy me once!
Lovelight Farms is a fake dating, best friends to lovers story filled with secret pining, great characters, and all the best Christmas feels. This is first person POV with the fmc being the sole perspective. It is about Stella, a Christmas tree farm owner, and Luka, her decade long best friend that she’s been harboring feelings for since they met.
Stella has had multiple unfortunate incidents like dead trees, raccoons taking over her barn, and missing deliveries. Her dream of a successful tree farm to honor her mom is slowly slipping through her fingers, so she applies to a contest in hopes of winning the grand prize. The only issue is that she said she bought and runs the farm with her loving boyfriend- which she does not have. In comes her best friend Luka, who will pretend to be her boyfriend not only to the influencer running the contest, but to their whole town of Inglewild.
I absolutely adore a fake dating trope especially when it’s between two best friends that you know pine for each other. Stella and Luka get along so well, understand each other, and simply care for the other so much. Their fake dating scheme finally gives them the chance to be with each other, all while using the pretending excuse.
This is my third book from BK Borison since I went out of order lol and the one she writes makes me absolutely obsessed with her books. All of the small, perfect little details she includes makes you feel like you are in the story and one of the characters. I get such a warm, fuzzy feelings reading/hearing her stories because of these details. They completely change my experience and make her books stand out above the rest. I will read anything she puts out because of how she writes her stories.
I listed to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator. I can be pretty picky with narrators so I was happy with how she told the story.
