I really enjoyed this book. I have not read the others in the series but I did not feel lost. There was a great cast of characters. I loved the grandma and how she was prominent character. I wasn’t too invested in Stephanie’s relationship, but that might be because I don’t know a lot of their history. The mystery always kept moving and I was surprised when new information came to light. The ending wrapped up the mystery nicely while leaving it open to new adventures.

Fun! When Connie goes missing, Stephanie and Lula go on the hunt for a rare and mysterious coin. With the guys from Rangeman, and new characters with names like Carpenter Beedle and Sir Lancelot, hijinks abound.
Thanks to Simon & Schuster and netgalley for the privilege to read an E-ARC of the latest title in one of my favorite series!

Office manager extraordinaire, Connie Rosolli has gone missing. Her car is left at the deli, the donuts that she collects every morning for the Plum Bail Bonds office were never delivered, and the office itself has been rifled. Stephanie Plum immediately senses that something is up, but can't pinpoint what or why. Then comes the phone call: they have just a couple of days to recover a missing gaming coin that at one time had been part of someone's collateral. The really bad news? Vinnie's out of town and has no idea what happened to the coin.

While Grandma and Lula step up to "help" running the office (which, at one point, relocates to a leaky bus ...), Stephanie pulls out all of the stops to try to find her friend, which means bypassing Morelli this time and going rogue.

Lots of fun, one of the best Plums in the last ten years. The mystery aspect really held up, all of the usual favorites were involved, and the balance between hilarity and worry were spot-on.

In true Janet Evanovich fashion, we're treated to the Lula and Stephanie hijinks that we've all come to adore! As always, she brings us a trunk full of laughs and plenty of snark!

Stephanie is back again in book 29. This time, office manager Connie has been kidnapped and it is up to Stephanie to get her back. Along the way, she needs to pick up the skips which includes Bella, Morelli's grandmother.
Opinion
The Stephanie Plum series is an old friend. If it has been a while since I read the book, I am still super excited to jump back in. The newest book in the series offers the reliable elements I've come to expect. There is electricity between Stephanie and Ranger, love between her and Morelli, Lula will add some strangely funny relief and there will be a car that somehow gets destroyed. These are what keeps me coming back to this series book after book. It allows me to immerse myself into the funny yet dangerous world of Stephanie and block out what is going on in the outside world.
I would recommend this book/series to anyone who just wants an easy read with some comedy involved.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Atria Books for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Going Rogue is the 29th book in the Stephanie Plum series and while I enjoy the hi-jinks and characters, the stories just feel redundant now. Will I read the next one, yep, I will because I'm no quitter.

Janet Evanovich's 29th Stephanie Plum book is here and it is filled with just as many laughs and thrills as the first one and all the ones in between. Going Rogue sees Stephanie turn up for work at Vinnie's Bail Bonds on a Monday morning to find that office manager Connie Rosolli is not there. That never happens. Worse yet, as Lula points out, there are no donuts.

After checking Connie's usual haunts, Stephanies worst fears are confirmed when she gets a call from Connie's abductor. They are looking to exchange Connie for a coin that was used as collateral for someone's bail. That someone has since been murdered. Now Stephanie has to track down the coin, figure out why it's so valuable and rescue Connie from her increasingly impatient abductors.

Fortunately for Stephanie, she can count on assistance from Lula, her Grandma Mazur, boyfriend Morelli, and security expert Ranger. The only question is how many laughs there will be along the way, how many scrapes she'll get into, and possibly how many cars will she blow up.

This series is always entertaining, inventive, and filled with great scenes. The only question for me is whether Grandma Mazur or Lula delivers more laugh-out-loud moments (this time it was Lula by a nose). The hunt for the coin and the characters we meet along the way, whether related to the coin or just the bail jumpers picked up as Stephanie multitasks are so much fun.

I don't know if Evanovich was listening to "Torn Between Two Lovers" or if "throuple" showed up on her Word of the Day calendar when she came up with the love triangle between Stephanie, Morelli, and Ranger, but it sure complicates Stephanie's life and makes our lives a lot more fun. There's still plenty of steam in those relationships and it only adds to the fun of reading these books.

This is another great entry in this series. Fans will eat this up and everyone is going to be eagerly awaiting the next book.

I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher.

As I noted last year when I read and reviewed Janet Evanovich’s Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight, I have been reading and enjoying Stephanie Plum’s adventures as a bond enforcement agent (bounty hunter?) for twenty-five+ years (gasp!), ever since One For The Money. And everytime a new one comes out, it makes me happy to know I’m in for hours of entertainment. Seriously, I can’t think of any that let me down…so along comes Going Rogue: Rise And Shine Twenty-Nine (#29 in the series), and thanks to Atria Books and NetGalley, I received a copy in exchange for this honest review.

For anyone who hasn’t read any of the series, not to worry. Each stands on its own (although I think it’s fun to see how the characters and their relationships progress), so you can dive right in and you will know soon enough who these people are. Stephanie works for her Uncle Vinnie, a bail bondsman in Newark, New Jersey. Stephanie has an ongoing relationship with cop Joe Morelli, and then there is Ranger, super sexy owner of a “security company,” always there to help her when she destroys another car or gets into whatever bizarre trouble she manages to find — or initiate.

Stephanie lives in an apartment with her hamster Rex and works with Lula, a former “woman of the evening,” and they manage to get Stephanie’s Grandma Mazur as usual.

In this latest entry in the series, Stephanie turns up for work and finds that Uncle Vinnie’s longtime office manager Connie Rosolli hasn’t shown up for work–then comes the ransom call who wants a coin that a man who was recently murdered had left with the bail bond company as collateral. Stephanie can’t find the coin, and enlists Lula to help her – along with Morelli and Ranger, who also appear (as expected).

Also as expected, this was the perfect read to escape the pandemic and politics for awhile: a bit zany, plenty of laughs, some surprises, and the ongoing dilemma of the impossible choice for Stephanie between Joe and Ranger. But, really, why have to choose? She has both of them (in different ways, but always entertaining for her and for the reader). It isn’t by any means lofty literary reading, but it is well written, fun, and an awesome diversion. It is what it is, and for me it is 5 stars. (NOTE: Portions of this review ae borrowed from the review of #28).

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book. If you've read one Stephanie Plum book, you've basically read them all. Which is not a bad thing. The characters are solidly themselves and predictably entertaining. If you like Evanovich, this one won't disappoint you.

This book is great! Would definitely recommend. Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Stephanie is at it again. Chasing bail jumpers, destroying cars and getting into trouble. Morellis Grandmother is out to give her the stink eye, as usual. Plenty of fun and action to keep you entertained. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

29 books & I'm still in love with this series. When Connie, Vinnie’s Bail Bonds office manager, gets kidnapped, Stephanie and the gang must find a mysterious coin to obtain her release and the fun begins. Stephanie, Lula & Grandma Mazur bring zaniness, while Joe & Ranger try to keep them alive. I laughed until I couldn't catch my breath in some parts. Already looking forward to the next installment, "Dirty Thirty."

I received this advance review copy from from NetGalley & the publisher for my honest review.

I adore Janet Evanovich and her Stephanie Plum series! Have read them all and would not miss a book.

GOING ROGUE has it all! Fun (laugh out loud), adventure, action, and characters you feel like are your family. Get this gem on your TBR list.

HIGHLY ENTERTAINING!

Janet Evanovich returns following The Recovery Agent: A Novel (Gabriela Rose #1) with her popular Stephanie Plum series #29—GOING ROGUE. Stephanie and the gang must get creative to find one of their own who has been kidnapped in this thrills-by-the-minute installment!

Stephanie, Lulu, Vinnie, Grandma Mazur, Joe, Ranger, and the gang are concerned about their missing office manager, Connie Rosolli. She is nowhere to be found. Things are not the same without her.

They receive a strange call from the abductor, who says he will only release her in exchange for a mysterious coin that a recently murdered man left as collateral for his bail. Unfortunately, this coin, which should be in the office—just like Connie—is nowhere to be found.

Things get complicated as they search for this coin and find out millions of dollars are at stake and the bad guys are on their trail.

However, no worries, while hunting down the bad guys, there are plenty of donuts, chicken, Plum's mom's cooking, fun, laughs, danger, blown-up cars, and funerals to attend.

I loved this one! The bitcoins are quite fascinating and popular these days, and as always, I would not miss a Janet Evanovich/Stephanie Plum book! I always buy the audiobook and love the narrator, Lorelei King.

Stephanie is growing up and getting smarter. In this installment, she might be getting closer to Joe. (I am a big fan of Joe, but love Ranger too). Keep them coming! We need some laughs, and Plum always provides hours of entertainment and comfort.

Thank you to #AtriaBooks for my beautiful hardcover copy and #NetGalley for a gifted eARC to read, review, and enjoy.

I am a big fan of Janet Evanovich and the Stephanie Plum series. I started reading this series during the pandemic and fell in love with all the action, adventure, and the crazy characters. That is why I keep reading the series. As with the previous 28 books, there are tons of laugh out loud moments, but I will say that my one major criticism is that the characters are rather flat. There is no growth, for any of them, ever. Perhaps that is intentional at this point, but I am noting that for anyone wanting to start reading the series.

Stephanie Plum never disappoints! Always an engaging, quick, and funny read. Looking forward to the 30th installment next year!

As the days grow shorter and slightly colder snuggling up with a good book is so comforting especially when it’s a book full of characters you have loved for years. The Stephanie Plum series is those books for me. From the moment book 29 was announced I have counted down the days until I could get my hands on it, and I will say I was definitely not disappointed. It had the characters I love getting themselves into situations that had me laughing out loud, great suspense that kept the pages turning and that slight tease of heat and romance that the author is a master at adding to all her books. I was happy that with this book the author gave more spotlight to a few of the side characters which added so much to this story. Highly recommend this book, this series, and this author to all readers.

Janet Evanovich does it it again. I love this series. I cant wait until the next Stephanie Plum book. I will read it in a day. So Good

Janet Evanovich has found her mojo and Stephanie Plum is fun to read again, after a few mediocre stories in this series. In Going Rogue, Stephanie finds herself searching for Connie, the secretary in the bail bond office where Stephanie and Lula work. She involves all the usual characters including Lula, Grandma Mazer, Morelli, and Ranger. This is a fast paced, entertaining, humorous read and I'm glad Stephanie is back to being a more faceted character.

Loved this book - it's as good as all the other Plum books!
Stephanie and the gang have angered a bad group of men who take hostages and do really bad things! But never fear the gang (with help from Ranger) save the day and bust up a human trafficking ring! All the explosions, laughs and Ranger and Morelli make this a fun read.

Stephanie is back again but this time the crime is hitting a little bit closer to home. When Connie goes missing Stephanie knows that something is wrong. Connie would never just up and leave she comes and goes like clockwork. So, when blackmailers call saying that the bonds office has something that they want, Stephanie and Lola are forced in a race against the clock to find an item that has gone missing. Can they find the item and get it back in time to save Connie? Or will their search become like looking for a needle in a haystack?
This book had a bit more variety than recent Plum novels. I did apricate that the crimes seemed to hit a bit closer to home. It made Stephanie’s plight seem a bit more dramatic then normal. I also loved how once again even those who were semi connect to the crime come together to offer Stephanie help. I don’t know if this means that she is truly that loveable, or everyone just sees her as hopeless. I also loved the brand name of her new car. I mean this book is still the same old same old for Plum, but the humor that Evanovich puts in each book is truly what keeps me coming back for more.
Thank you so much to Atria Books and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.
