Danielle Steel never ceases to amaze me with the books she writes. This one was no different. I loved the story line as well as the characters.

Danielle Steel is always an enjoyable author to read. I love how she grabs your attention and keeps it throughout her books.
This is a story of family, business and love. Love is not always great or easy but both of the main characters learned that the hard way. They live thru some hard times and come out the other side much better off. Very believable and relatable characters.

Recently I feel like every time I write a review for a book I’ve read written by Danielle Steel, I say that it is unlike her other books. I guess I need to stop saying that since it’s become the norm? One piece that has always stayed the same is a strong powerful woman protagonist. Spencer fits this description perfectly. She has run and managed the family business for years and has her eyes set on becoming CEO, but realized that money talks more than tradition, and she has difficult decisions to make. I was intrigued most with the homeless storyline and loved how that was all tied in. This one was an easy read, a little slow at times, but still a solid four stars.

Once again,Danielle Steel has produced a beautiful story of love and loss. She is so very talented!! You must read this book!!!

I've been reading more Danielle Steel lately, and this book did not disappoint! This was a quick and easy read following Spencer as she tries to keep her family legacy alive through the department store she has inherited. There is romance, ambition, family, and of course, obstacles to overcome in Worthy Oppinents and I was glad to be along for the ride!

Spencer believes in her family legacy and will hold onto the store no matter what happens. Unfortunately times are changing and she continued to hold on as disaster after disaster occurs. I enjoyed the store descriptions and could picture such a store taking place today. Another win for Steele.

I have been reading books by Danielle Steel since I was a young girl. She will always be one of my favorite authors. This was a sweet story with a little romance in the mix. I liked all the descriptions about the store; Brooks. It made me feel like I was shopping there! Ms.Steel always does a good job with building up the story- always wanting just a little more. Good book about a woman who wants to hold onto her grandfathers legacy. He built an upscale store which is now in a not so good part of town. She is a single mom with lots of roles she is juggling. Danielle Steel is a great author who continues to write wonderful, solid novels!

Another of Danielle Steels amazing stories. As Spencer Brooke always was always destined to be CEO of her grandfathers business the most respected and luxurious store in New York City. After her father’s death her life is very different she may be the owner of Brookes but she is also the divorced single mother of twin boys. Mike Weston is known for making enormous profits transforming small businesses into bigger more successful ones. Brooke’s feels like the perfect opportunity. But the firm’s CEO turns down the opportunity before they even meet. Spencer wants nothing to do with outsiders meddling in her business but when bad luck strikes she suddenly is backed in a corner. When she finally realizes she needs Mike’s help and how he can help make Brooke’s be what it should be. A very enjoyable story I would recommend to everyone.

A masterpiece. From the first page, it is evident that Steele put a lot of thought into the storyline ,characters, and the overall message of the book. I highly recommend.

From the get go building this Empire and trying to keep it afloat through stock market crashes and riots has proven to be a challenge for not only Spencer Brooke but her father and grandfather as well. Once was is no more due to many of life’s unexpected challenges and the ever evolving market for department stores. What to do when the only thing you’ve ever known is challenged and giving up hopes and dreams is becoming more of a reality. These are the issues Spencer faces as she tries to Figureoutable how to honor the legacy left behind. There is of course romance and failed relationships here to explore as well. A true DS fan will love her latest. However for me it did t have a lot of depth but still enjoyed the lightness of it. Also enjoyed reading how when faced with adversity you rise up and meet the challenges you are faced with. Ty #NetGalley for the ARC . All opinions are my own.

Spencer is the apple of her grandfather's eye. He owns and manages a high end small department store in lower Manhattan. As time goes on, the store is in a less desirable neighborhood frequented by gangs. As she grows up, Spencer loves spending time at the store, working with her grandfather as she grows up. She develops a love for retail and dealing with customers just as he does. When her beloved grandfather dies and her father inherits the store, he sees it as a burden. His years at the helm of the store bring the store down. When her father dies early in his life, Spencer inherits the store and brings it back to it's shining star status. However, the old building and neighborhood it is in continues to deteriorate. Her chief financial officer encourages her to find an investor. Spencer is not interested because she knows she will have to give up a percentage of ownership in the store. She meets with an investor. It doesn't go well. They are not big enough and there is not enough volume in the store. She's not interested in expanding to other areas or moving to a better area of town. The tragedy strikes the store and changes everything.
One of the best aspects of this story is the relationship between Spencer and her grandfather. Will she carry on his legacy? This book left me with such a heartwarming feeling.

Danielle Steel, need I really say any more? Ok, I'll say a little bit more. Spencer Brooke is now the CEO of the family business. Can she stay on top of the fashion world as a single mother? Mike Weston is known for making small businesses into larger, more successful ones. Can these two find common ground in order to make her generational business stay on top?

Enjoyed this story of a woman grown up in a family that owns a fabulous department store. She always loved it and was primed by her grandfather to be the one to run it. She had done a fabulous job of it despite numberous things a long the way. She is determined,faithful to that store. She has to prove to others she will come out strong andin charge !

Danielle Steel never disappoints!!! It was super easy to fall in love with Spencer - easy to cheer for her (and want to throat punch her deadbeat husband) (oh - and her dad and mom lol)!! Poor woman - she was literally living Murphy's Law as she tried her darndest to hold on to her family legacy. Enter Mike - who only thinks that it's business as usual (until it's not ;) ). All wrapped up in a pretty little bow by the end - just the way I like them!
