Probably one of the worst book I've read. The first one was okay however this one was really a miss.

5 STARS for Control is Everything by ( new for me author ) Belinda Wright

This is a continuation of the Protected Series. In this book Slater is working to find Dale. Readers should be aware that Control is Everything also ends with a cliffhanger setting you up for the next book in the series.

Good read enjoying this series as well !

So I didn’t rate the first book in this series all that highly. I felt like it was really missing something to give it that ‘oomph’ so to speak, and unfortunate I felt similarly with this.

As I said last time, I’ve read countless Mafia romance books and nothing stood out to be overly exciting or unique about the book.

Control is Everything by Belinda Wright is book Two in the Protected Series. This continues the story of Dale and Slater that started in the first book 'She's Mine'. Slater is working to find Dale who was taken from him. This book does end setting us up for the next installment in this series. I can't wait for more.

This was also a quick read for me just like the first one.

It was nice to see what would happen and how everything would develop. Now I just hope to read more about Slater and Dale since I don't feel like I am done with those two.

I really enjoyed this book, and liked it even better than book 1! Dale went through such character development going from such a vulnerable character to a strong bad ass. I felt that Dale and Slater almost switched places emotionally in book 2 because Slater was extremely emotional throughout the entire book 2.

Book 2 had more action and scenes that made you sit on the edge of your seat, the spice was well written and not out of context or random and the tension 🔥 PHEW.

I NEED a book 3. I want to see how Dale continues as Boss. How is Slater killing Bana going to affect himself, his old crew and the north. I have so many questions.

Definitely a good read!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me a eARC for an honest review!

I wanted to like these books but something was missing for me and I'm not sure what. I will add these to my TBR2 pile and give them both another try.

A captivating book as Dale has gone missing and Slater is out for revenge. He thought by being his woman she would be protected, he forgot to follow his own rules: don’t fall for her, fight the attraction and he was mistaken his name could keep her safe in his world. He let his guard down and now his woman has been taken from him. I love this book how their dynamic has evolved and is changing as Dale becomes her own self, a woman to be reckoned with even as her father is trying to marry her off. She’s become a strong woman who’s able to defend herself, and the man she loves. This book is filled with romance, action and love! I voluntarily read and reviewed the book.

This is book two in The Protected series and it continues Slater and Dale's story. Slater is angry and annoyed because he let his guard down and now the woman that he has fallen for has been taken even though he thought that she would be safe with him but instead it out a target on her back but Slater is determined to find her and bring her home and make sure that the culprit is taken care of once and for all. I really loved this book and how there relationship grew and how strong Dale became as the story unfolds and how she came into her own person and proved that she could take care of herself. Slater and Dale are so perfect for each other and make a really great and strong team together. The characters and storyline was a lot more engaging than book one and had a lot more action and I look forward to reading more book's in the future.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I could not put this book down! I loved every single moment! This was the perfect ending for this couple! I refused to accept them not being together so i was happy with the end! Everyone got what they deserved, good and bad!

I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first book. It got more passion, plot twists, and a bada** heroine. I loved how Dale picked herself up and made her own decision after what evening went down and her determination is commendable. Respect for Slater is increased for the actions he takes and supports irrespective of how emotional things are. The story held itself in a very steady way, pacing is also good.

I enjoyed this book significantly more than book 1. It was faster paced and had more of what I was looking for. I do wish this book (and book 1) had more spice.

I really enjoyed this book, it flowed perfectly after book one picking up where they immediately left off. Dale finally grew into a woman in this book and showed what Slater and the crew always new she’d be capable of. She’s turned into an absolute baddie and a boss babe who knows what she has to do to maintain her position. This book contained less spice than the first with more action, which I felt was a good mix with the first book being more spice than major action. I really enjoyed the back and forth between Slater and Dale as well as Slater and the rest of his crew. Stubbornness doesn’t always mean you’re in control and I think he and Dale both learned that. I can only hope for another book to continue the series.

We got to read more of Dalel’s pov a big improvement from the last book. More action involved in this book which made it exciting to read. A bit cheesy is some dialogue. Dale definitely grew as a person, Slater kind of stayed the same as in the previous book. Slater did take his toxic masculinity a bit too far in how he treated Dale.

Honestly I don't know whether I like this book or not. I wanted more romance in it. But I liked her transformation. She became so strong in the end.

I have mixed feelings about Slater. I wished he would have supported her decision. But I'm glad they realised in the end that they cannot live without each other. I still don't know if there is a book three in this series.

‘I took him out, Dale ,’ I say, when the pain dulls. ‘I know you did.’ A tear rolls down her face. ‘Why?’‘So you couldn’t.’‘I would have done it myself. I could have done it.’ Her tone is gentle'.

This really killed me...

I was a little mad when book one ended with a cliffhanger but I take it all back now. This book was so wonderful. Full of anticipation and rescuing yes please

Book 2 has Daleylah Martinez has been kidnapped. Slater along with his brothers are looking for her but have no luck in finding her. Meanwhile, her father is planning for her wedding which she does not want to happen. Here in this book, she becomes a force and at the same time, there are moments where Slater I feel is a jerk to her even though they still love each other. That is the one part of the story I did not get was his attitude toward her.

Control is everything

Thank you NetGalley for my gifted copy of this book.

Control is everything followed directly on from She’s Mine in the Protected series.
I absolutely loved Dale in this book. She grew as a person and turned out to be a badass boss babe. Slater and his crew didn’t change and I’d still have them in my corner.
I feel that this book had more of a mafia feel than the first book. There was more action but much less spice.
I do feel that these books could have been combined to be one book but overall I really enjoyed the conclusion to Slater and Dales story.

Control is Everything book 2 in the Protected series by Belinda Wright.
Was everything I was hoping it would be.

Ok after reading book one She's Mine and finishing book two I'm officially hooked.
Wright's storytelling is just amazing.
She hooked me immediately.
Her characters are simply intriguing and very interesting.
Honestly they are what made me fall so dang hard.
A pulse-pounding, edge of my seat, anticipating read.
And I can only hope for more of these in the future.
