Great thriller. Captivating from the start to the end. Loved the premise and it was well written and enjoyable.
This is fast paced and full of action. I felt as though the rmtwists were a bit too predictable.
The characters were well developed.
Very entertaining, but also a little over-the-top and unrealistic. I did absolutely loathe one of the characters, and I won't say who but it will be pretty obvious to anyone who reads the book ;) It did have a satisfying, albeit predictable, ending.
Another fantastic book from my favourite author! Love all of Daniel's books. I can never put them down until I'm finished!
When the joint bosses (husband and wife) of a successful company decide to terminate one of their employees contract they picked the wrong one. One who wasn’t at all happy about that decision, so much so he decided a bit of revenge was in order. So far, so good. Yes it was predictable but I still enjoyed it. The three main characters give their points of view but would have liked William’s at the end instead of a general epilogue. The book length was just right for this story with not too much packing and it grabbed my attention from the start and I didn’t feel the need to skimp much of it. A nice easy read that didn’t warrant too much concentration to work out obscure clues!
Marie and William run a successful ad agency together and have 2 children, they are wealthy and they are still very happily married after twelve years together.
When David an ex employee seeking revenge, invades their home, the couple face a terrifying fight to survive. During the course of one hellish night David picks apart their carefully constructed life. Secrets are revealed. David is beginning to see that Maria and William are not the defenceless couple he imagined.
This is such a great read. I was totally gripped and desperate to find out who was telling the truth.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for opportunity to read and review this arc honestly.
I’d rate this book 3.5 (rounding up). The storyline was good, if not a bit predictable. The writing was ok, as was the setting; but some parts felt a bit repetitive.
I really enjoyed the suspense and twists in this story, I found the characters interesting and that made it a very compelling read.
"Full of suspense and gripping from start to finish, this book takes you on a heart-pounding journey inside the lives of Maria and William as they face a terrifying home invasion. The author skillfully weaves a web of secrets and revelations that keep you guessing until the very end. With well-developed characters and unexpected twists, 'The Intruder' is a thrilling rollercoaster ride that will leave you breathless."
Maria and William have a perfect family. Two kids, a common business, a partnership full with love and trust. Is it true to be real?
One night an intruder enters their house and threatens them at a knife point. And life is changed forever.
This book is an easy read and every page reveals something new.
This was the first book by Daniel Hurst that I have read and I hope it is only the beginning of what can be a long list of books by this author that can become one of favorite writers for me.
I love anything by this author. Great suspenseful story as always. Thank you for allowing me to read the advanced book.
Maria and William are a couple who seemingly have it all - they have a super successful and lucrative business, lovely children, and a beautiful home.
Their home is invaded by an angry ex-employee, David. David is out for revenge and will stop at nothing. During the invasion, secrets are revealed. The reader might think they know where this one is going...they'll be in for a shock!
This was a fun read. It was super fast-paced and hard to put down! This book is told from different narratives, which I enjoyed. The reader really gets to know the characters. The twists and turns were exciting. Around half way through, this book takes an exciting turn. I thought this book was going one direction and was shocked by the early twist.

Maria and William have it all a business, a lovely home and two gorgeous children. When David a disgruntled ex employee wants revenge there lives are on the line and a terrifying game begins. A gripping and terrifying physcological thriller with twists and turns that you can't see coming.
Thank you to NetGalley and Incubator Books for this ARC.
This book had a very interesting and intriguing premise. I was looking forward to it immediately after reading the summary. However, the storyline fell flat. It is well-written but very predictable. If you are looking for another thriller that doesn't require much thought to solve, then this is a great light read. To me, it is the equivalent of a Lifetime mystery movie. Just something to read through quickly. The overabundance of characters explaining every decision and thought was unnecessary to me, I would have loved to see more description of the character's actions and less about them repeatedly weighing their options. Please check trigger warnings before reading.
Maria and William seem to have it all. Two happy children. A beautiful house. A thriving business.
But when their home is invaded by David, an ex-employee with a score to settle, the couple face a terrifying fight to survive.
During the course of one hellish night, David picks apart their carefully constructed life. Secrets are unearthed, truths revealed.
I am a big fan of Daniel Hurst! I have read quite a few of his books and was so excited to receive this ARC. As with all of his books thus far, there was a fun storyline, with great plot twists and an unexpected ending. His books are short but pack a punch everytime!
Thank you Daniel Hurst, Netgalley, and Inkubator for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The introduction to this novel drew me in with an intriguing plot line. The character development was good and I think made this an intriguing thriller.
Thanks to NetGalley for sharing an eARC of this novel with me.
The title of this book is what drew me in. The thought of an intruder seems pulse-pounding and edge-of-your-seat. But the twists in this one just didn’t feel that way.
I also felt the storyline switched too quickly and it felt like I was reading a new book halfway through.
The author did, however, do a good job of making the reader dislike a character so much that you didn’t care what happened to them. So good on that!
This was a very enjoyable book and I enjoyed it very much. Daniel Hurst has a way of making you care about his characters even if sometimes they are not liveable.
Thank you for the opportunity to preview The Intruder.
Wow. Cat and mouse game with some surprises and twists I did not see
3.5 stars
