Slightly predictable at times bit still a very solid read! I enjoyed this book and look forward to more by the author.
As per usual, Daniel Hurst has blown it out of the water. I loved this book, the ending blew my mind and I can't wait for whatever he has coming next!
I felt like I thought I could predict more than I did which is always a plus for me! Closed room/one night thriller suspense books are hard to do but I like the way this was executed with the multiple povs so I could really see how each person was feeling and deciding what to do next. It didn’t blow me away but I don’t have anything bad or totally awesome to vent about it! Thank you !

The Intruder is a phenomenal thriller from start to finish. Daniel Hurst really knows what he's doing. Filled to the brim with twists and a captivating plot, this one is sure to keep readers hooked. The characters are well-developed. The story is incredibly fast-paced. This is one not to be missed! Highly recommended! Be sure to check out The Intruder today.
The way it’s written from different points of view made it a quick read. I didn’t predict the plot twist but after reading it seems like it should have been obvious.
Getting into their house was easy. The hard part was getting out.
Maria and William seem to have it all. Two happy children. A beautiful house. A thriving business.
But when their home is invaded by David, an ex-employee with a score to settle, the couple face a terrifying fight to survive.
Who will make it out alive?
WOW! I will happily read anything by this author now! Well written, highly entertaining, addictive and unputdownable thriller. Told through past and present timelines and duel perspectives, its rich narrative weaves phenomenal twists and turns, tense, multiple (fabulous) layers to unpack, all arriving at a dramatic - holy heck conclusion. Read if you love a fast paced, clever psychological thriller.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Maria and William seem to have it all, with two children and a thriving business. A former employee named David breaks into their home and has a score to settle. Throughout the course of the night, their life is picked apart by David and their secrets revealed. He soon realizes that the couple is not as defenseless as they seem and that brings up the question of who will make it out alive.
This book seemed to be less thrilling than some of his other books but halfway through it turned in a completely different direction. I liked the different points of view and the different timelines, which really draws you into the characters and their thoughts. I highly recommend this book, it was a great read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.
I really enjoyed the multiple POV of all the characters and the way the chapters were organised in this book! Full of twists with the action starting right from the word go! Very enjoyable thriller
I liked the different POV,s.
Found it a bit slow to start but did get better.
I did enjoy it.....Good story.
This is another brilliant read from Daniel Hurst and one I couldn’t put down. Maria is married to William. They have two young children, a fabulous home and run their own successful business. Their life is torn apart when David, an ex employee who feels they unjustly fired him for sexual harassment, decides to seek revenge and breaks into their house and kidnaps them. Little does he realise what revelations are about to unfold, David swears he is innocent but why then was he fired? David soon realises that Maria and William do not have the perfect life as William is harbouring so many secrets and Maria soon realises that she doesn’t know her husband at all. This is a fast paced thriller with so many surprises, revelations and twists and turns that will keep you totally gripped. A massive 5* from me.
Thanks to Netgalley and Inkubator books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Intruder focuses on a man who was wronged and wants revenge. But the people who wronged him are not who he thinks they are.
This was a pretty fast read, entertaining, and suspenseful at times. Maria and William seem like the perfect couple, with some small issues. They both own a very successful business, are very much in love, and have two children.
But sometimes, appearances aren't real.
And when David, a former employee who claims he was wrongfully terminated, comes to take revenge, he bites more than he can chew.
I liked that the action was fast-paced, there were no boring descriptions or characters. But it did get quite predictable at times, and I would've liked a bit more twists and turns after that *BIG* reveal.

First story that I’ve read by this author and I would definitely try more.
This story was clever. The plot grew more complex as the story evolved. The twists and turns mirrored them in complexity. Nothing is what it seems in this tale. The fun unexpected ending made this quite entertaining.
Very enjoyable and I would recommend. Thanks to NetGalley the author and Inkubator Books for a copy in exchange for a review.
What I thought would be a simple plot turned out to be way more. Just when the story seemed to be coming to a close the author took it to a whole never level of thrilling. The ending was very unique from what I've read. I definitely recommend this book to others and I will be looking into the author's other books.
This is a new to me author and I have to say I am looking forward to reading more by this author! I loved this book
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Hurst rarely disappoints. This was another good one. Well written and kept me interested.
I have read every book by Daniel Hurst and have been a fan for a really long time now. The Intruder took me a little bit to get in to, but once I did, I was hooked. Like typical Daniel Hurst books, the storyline has twists & turns and is filled with shocking secrets the reader won’t see coming. The ending blew me away! I finished the book last week and am still thinking about it!
If you’ve never read or watched a thriller before then maybe this was made you because not a single whisper of thrill was had over here. The characters, atmosphere and plot were underwhelming and the writing left me bored.
Imagine watching a stage play and every time someone comes to the front for their monologue while having the only spotlight focused on them.
That is literally what reading every moment of foreshadowing or plot twist felt like in this book. Basically, a bunch of "LOOK AT ME. Did you see what I planted there? No, well let me say it another five times."

Quick and easy read that I couldn’t put it down. All the twists and turns from different timelines and connecting the dots that my head was spinning. Wow
