The Sweetheart Fix is the second book in the Blossom Glen series by Miranda Liasson. While the first book, The Sweetheart Deal, revolved around eldest sister Tessa, this story is about middle sister Juliet.
Juliet has trained as a licensed therapist to help others as she had once been helped herself. But as she begins her new job in the town’s therapy practice her blunders when a belligerent client confronts her about the things that went wrong in her past lead to a temporary time off while she figures some things out and regains her confidence.
Meanwhile, the town’s young mayor, Jack Monroe, is having his own community communication issues. When Juliet stumbles into the midst of a town grievances meeting when all she was doing was seeking a good cup of coffee, she finds her innate solution seeking tendencies hard to stifle. While Jack is an action oriented mayor, he is not good at empathy or solving the personal issues. Juliet cannot stop herself from offering ideas, and before the meeting is over she finds herself in the new position of Town Counselor. Her kind problem solving strategies makes her the town sweetheart, and Jack can use such an ally as he fights to safe his beloved grandmother’s land.
Ms. Liasson has crafted a sweet story told with heart and humor. She has created lovely characters and an idyllic setting. I very much enjoyed this book, as I did the first in this series, and do recommend it!
Juliet and Jack are the best couple! Two fractured hearts unwilling to be hurt again. Juliet is now a licensed therapist who accidentally gets hired by the town's mayor to help coordinate the town meetings. Jack doesn't do feelings & Juliet doesn't do, and Juliet doesn't do licensed therapist now because her boss told her she needs to deal with her own issued before she helps others work through theirs. The heat is fast and furious, but neither is willing to admit it, much less deal with it!
Just loved this town and it's residents. It's a great story that I didn't want to end!
Juliet Montgomery is starting her new job as a counselor, but after her latest relationship break-up she is being questioned on her ability to practice. She goes to city hall to pay a ticket she received and runs into the mayor Jack Monroe.
She ends up working with Jack to settle disputes from town members over grievances. The more time spent together they are attracted to each other. Juliet has sworn off romance with anyone and Jack doesn't do relationships.
We get to catch up on the previous book The Sweetheart Deal couple and others from the local town.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.
I asked for this Arc because I enjoyed and gave four star to the first book in the series but unfortunately i was a bit disappointed in this new book in the series.
For me the story felt thin and I had a hard time connecting to Julia because of her inability to self reflect. Kudos though to the author for giving both Julia and Jake flaws :) I really like this author so it doesn't feel great to only give three stars.
The Sweetheart Fix by Miranda Liasson is a fun small town romance. Keep in mind this is book 2 of the series and previous characters from the previous book do show up. As always, I recommend reading the 1st book so you know who these characters are when they reappear. This story is a sweet slow building romance of Jack, the mayor of Blossom Glen with his Texan cowboy roots and Juliet the town’s sweetheart. Both have baggage about emotions and relationships, but learn to overcome them when they know it's the right person. This is a great story with all the feels. Definitely recommend it.
Everyone has a past. Some would like to forget about their past and leave it there. Juliet is trying to leave the past behind. Her embarrassing past in the relationship department has been messy. Everyone in town knows she has had two broken engagements. Her broken engagements reminded me of a certain runaway bride in a hit movie. She has earned her degree as a therapist and she will be good at her job if they will give her a chance. Some feel that she can’t possibly give relationship advice when she apparently stinks at relationships. She just needs someone to believe in her.
Jack is the mayor. He has a different kind of past. He is a player, but his past has also made him skittish about giving of himself 100%. Juliet is about to rock his world. He has never seen someone give so much of themselves. People love her. He needs the community's help to save his grandmother's homeplace from a greedy developer, but so far he is not winning any favor when he cannot even mediate a dispute between two neighbors. Juliet steps in and saves the day. He has to grudgingly admit that he needs her help. These two characters were so wonderful to get to know. They are quite the pair. Their verbal jabs at one another will leave you chuckling. In the process of sparring like two boxers in a boxing ring, they learn a lot about each other. They learn the past is in the past, but it has formed their thoughts and emotions of today. They also learn that sometimes things are not what they appear to be. This was a sweet romance of opposites attracting to one another. I loved Jack's grandmother. She was quite a sight. She was full of life and sass. There were several humorous moments in this well written romance. The sweet little town of Blossom Glen will never be the same.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing, the author and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you NetGalley, Miranda Liasson and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the ARC of The Sweetheart Fix. This is my personal review.
This is the second book in the Blossom Glen series. Each of the books can be read as a standard-alone.
This is the story of Juliet and Jack. They are from a small town, and they have lots of support from family and friends.
This is a romance book that has a lot in it and you will enjoy getting to know the characters in the book.
I enjoyed Jack and Juliet's story. They are definitely opposites. Juliet's profession is discussing feelings for a living, but Jack will hardly even admit to having any feelings. They both need help with their jobs, though, so they have to get along for a while. The best part of this was the positive mental health representation. Juliet does a good job was encouraging the community to take care of themselves and seek therapy if needed.
A sweet slow building romance of Jack, the mayor of Blossom Glen with his Texan cowboy roots and Juliet the town’s sweetheart. Both have lots a baggage, Jack is afraid of love and showing emotions due to his parents abandonment. Even though he was raised by his loving grandmother he hasn’t gotten over the pain of his mother just leaving him. Trying to save the woman who raised him her beloved land adds more stress to Jack’s life.
Juliet has her own issues and trying to help her brother in law’s best friend is a challenge. Also having two broken engagements isn’t helping her with her dream job of a couples counselor. A town that doesn’t forget the embarrassing mishaps of your youth. Discovering who you really are and how to get what you want from life are goals Juliet is working on throughout the story. And if love happens?????
This is book 2 of the series and glad that the characters from the previous book are included. I would suggest to read the 1st book, was nice continuation of Tess and Leo story.
Thank you NetGalley for this eARC. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story. #NetGalley #TheSweetheartFix
Thank you to Entangled and Netgalley for sending me an e-ARC to read and review! I loved that this one picked up with Juliet's story and I thought her and Jack were a perfect combo. This one centered on therapy and a lot of healing and moving on from your past which was done so well. I enjoyed seeing Tessa and Leo updates as well as a preview of what's to come for Viv. This was fun, Juliet was incredibly sassy and I loved her as the main character so much. I thought Blossom Glen was a great setting once again and I really enjoyed the growth that happened in this one. I think these love stories are so sweet and I'm so excited for more books from Miranda!
Blossom Glen series! 3.5 stars
This second book in the series follows Juliet and Jack’s path. Perfect small town story, enemies to friends to lovers, lots of family support and great friendships.
Jack is the town mayor and is also trying to save his grandmother’s land. Juliet is a counselor who needed to learn some of the lessons she teaches others. They both need to open up to possibilities and see if they can depend on each other.
I’m looking forward to the next book that will likely center on Viv, the final sister.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book but my opinions are my own.
A relationship counselor that hasn't quite figured out her own relationship issues. Juliet's therapy job gets put on hold since everyone in town knows her past, but the new gig as town counselor let's her get to know Mayor Jack. Can they work together to her save Jack's grandma's land?
I really liked the relationship between Juliet and Jack since they both had some pretty messy past issues, but they were just themselves with eachother. The biggest struggle in this book was that it seemed to take awhile to get going, but it was worth the wait once it did. My favorite comic relief parts were the Santa panties and water tower story.
This is the second book in a series, but would work well as a stand-alone book. Both so far have just been feel good romances.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.
Second book in this romance series. It was pretty similar to the first and I really enjoyed that Tessa and Leo from the first book were pretty prominent in this book as well. Juliet had a really great storyline with development but Jack fell a little flat for me. I did really love his loyalty and love towards his grandmother. The ending was done well just predictable.
Look no farther if a caring, small, united town in the Midwest is exactly what you’re seeking for your next read.
Juliet has a reputation for very public romantic dustups, but now she’s ready to forge a new identity as a therapist. Jack, a transplant from Texas and mayor plus adversary of Juliet, is desperate to save his grandmother’s land from development.
I loved all the quirky, embarrassing scenes the author subjected Juliet and Jack, but I won’t give anything away.
I love that Blossom Glen is set in Indiana and that it’s a community of people who care and look after each other. Of course, they are gossips galore and in everyone’s business, but it’s endearing.
Treat yourself to a stop in a pleasant read.
I loved this second book in the Blossom Glen series! I read book 1 and e joyed, but this can be read as a stand alone.
It features a small town mayor and a couples counselor and has all the drama small towns are known for. It’s a sweet, closed door romance that touches on some surprisingly tough mental health concepts.
I really wanted to love this book so much. I adored The Sweetheart Deal so much and really thought this would be the same. I really had a hard time getting interested in the characters. I didn't feel like the two main characters had that great of chemistry and made it harder for me to even want to continue the story. I don't know if I will plan to continue this series after reading The Sweetheart Fix but I think my love for The Sweetheart Deal may encourage me to finish it out.
I enjoyed Juliet and Jack's story , had a feel of the runaway bride ,The story was fun , and witty , I enjoyed the cast of characters as well , the town came together in the end . I like small town reads , this author always has the best interest of people at the heart of her stories .
This is a delightful second book in the series, but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. Juliet Montgomery is starting her new practice as a family and relationship therapist. Problem is, she has had two and a half failed engagements and her clients aren’t sure she is the best person to help them. When her boss tells her that she needs to take some time off and works through her issues, she is crushed. She wanders into the town mayor’s , Jack Monroe, forum meeting and helps him out with a dispute between neighbors. Jack became mayor hoping to save his grandmother’s land. He needs to convince the town to not change the zoning so that the evil developer (aren’t they all evil in Romance novels?), from buying the land at the foreclosure auction and forcing his grandmother away from her home. While Juliet drives him crazy, he realizes that the townspeople love her. He convinces her to take a part time job helping him with these forums and to help him convince the town about his grandmother’s land. Both Jack and Juliet have some serious issues to work through before they can get to their happily ever after. I loved all of the characters in this book and how the author took on some weighty issues (parental abandonment, depression). This is a really enjoyable book. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
The wind whistled through the trees, knocking their leaves loose and creating a whirlwind of reds and golds. She felt like she was walking through an autumn wonderland as the leaves crunched beneath her feet. In front of her was a lake, peaceful in the late afternoon sunshine. She sat down at its edge and looked over its glassy surface. So calm. A mirror reflecting a life of serenity… which is exactly the opposite of her life right now.
The Sweetheart Fix is a dual perspective romance set in the small town where Jack and Juliet live. Juliet is a relationship therapist who is trying to get her business off the ground, but her multiple failed relationships aren’t helping. Jack is the town’s mayor and is battling a big business conglomerate that wants to take over his grandma’s land and change their small town.
An enemies to lovers/grumpy & sunshine romance that was refreshing and so sweet. I loved both characters, the small town atmosphere, and the way therapy was discussed in such a positive manner. This book is part of a series, but can certainly be read as a standalone story.
I highly recommend if you love small town settings, enemies to lovers and grumpy/sunshine trope, and the community comes together for a greater purpose type of story.

Some Wise Advice
I loved this story. A story with laughter and tears and some sage advice; although most likely a bit too late to do me any good, but then, that is what hope is for. Meanwhile I did thoroughly enjoy my time within this story. I hope you will enjoy your time here also. Oh, did I mention this is a sweet clean romance? The kind of story you could read aloud to family, friends and even strangers and not be embarrassed by any of the scenes.
Happy Reading ! !
NOTE: This review expresses my honest opinion
I received an ARC of this story from the publisher via NetGalley.
