Thank you NetGalley and Mirror House Press for the copy of Violet Is Nowhere. This book grabbed me from the beginning. Violet and Bud were great characters and I liked getting to know their backstories and how their histories played into the present. The ending was completely unexpected. If you’re looking for a fast intriguing read this is the book for you!
Violet Is Nowhere (The Jolvix Episodes) by Faith Gardner
Violet is Nowhere is the second book in Faith Gardner's The Jolvix Episodes series. The first book, Amen Maxine, is one of my favorite books of 2022. Faith Gardner's series takes readers on a mind-bending journey of epic proportions.
Synopsis:
Violet, a rising rock star, is drugged, kidnapped, and placed in a cabin with bars on the windows. After waking up, she discovers a note and a burner phone that only calls a man named Bud. Bud is a carpenter who has no idea who Violet is. In order to survive, the two strangers must figure out the cryptic connection between them.
While Violet Is Nowhere unfolds a bit slower than Amen Maxine, it still kept my interest piqued. For a delicious read, Faith Gardner combines thrillers with a light touch of science fiction. I can't wait to read Gardner's next addition to The Jolvix Episodes series.
Violet Is Nowhere is available on September 22nd.

Tickle My Eyeballs & Brain! 😳😯🤯😯
Holy Fluffin' Cotton Balls! Another crazy, thrilling sci-fi novel by Gardner! I gobbled this one up like I did with her hit, Amen, Maxine! Absolutely genius! It's ironic because I'm not a Sci-Fi buff or junky in any way, but I cannot get enough of the aspect she throws into the dystopian type thrillers she masterfully crafts. As always she got me from the first line & chapter and I gobbled it up in mere hours. The suspense, the speculation, the race against the clock were deeply divine and left me wanting more! I downed this like a hot chocolate on a freezing day. I couldn't believe the delivery of that ending! Even though I had an inkling, I was still absolutely blown away with her impeccable deliverance and indulged in this with no regret. I cannot wait for more in this series! Believe me, you'll go nuts for this! Man oh man i'm in love!
Mყ 𝐒ყɴ𝐨ρѕιѕ: Violet is on the cusp of becoming a famous rock star, until she's kidnapped & held in a cabin. Only the clues on the paper are her way out. And it all rests in the only contact on her phone to an unknown number who can help her escape. Bud is a construction worker and an alcoholic. When he finishes up a job, an unknown caller shows up on his caller ID and tries to believe the other person on the line is in danger and needs his help. They have one week to figure out the connection they have to one another, for Violet to be set free. But the connection and the truth will be so unreal, they may not be able to handle it.

𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭: 4 / 5 Beach Waves! 🌊
Every single page of this had something I was not expecting. Violet wakes up in a comfy cabin with a phone that only allows her to call one person, a stranger. Bud is a hot carpenter with no real life. He turns a woman down for having a kid and I was like "she has to rely on this guy!?" but after we get to know him it makes a lot of sense.
Anyway, I don't want to reveal too much, so I will just say I was hooked. I was so hooked. This is the kind of book you crave.
I mean wow. I will be thinking about this for days.
Amen Maxine is one of top favorite books of the year. I gave it 5 stars and the sequel Violet is Nowhere also gets 5 stars!
I was hooked from page one and loved every minute of it! I don’t want to give too much away but wow!
A thriller with a elements of sci-fi, I gladly this is one I’ll still be thinking days from now.
