Again another book from #netgalley #netgalleyuk #thewifenextdoor

What an absolute blast reading this. Wasn't sure about this at first tbh but wow. My mind went in so many different directions one minute I was agreeing with Jess about who it was then changing my mind with her. All her points were valid except I had my own suspicions one that she never looked at herself.

Loved the family dynamics of it all should of worked out well in theory one big happy family 👪 few questions:
Would I recommend this book?
Hell Yes.
Who was my favourite character?
Mmm not sure to be honest loved Jess.
Who did I not like?
Ruby spoilt brat from start to finish and no discipline 😒
What was my favorite part?
All of it kept you guessing throughout the whole book.
What did I not like about the book?
Nothing all of it was good. Nothing stuck out to be annoying.

Description

It was meant to be the perfect break-up…

Just because it’s over between us, doesn’t mean we can’t be friends. My ex-husband and I still care for each other a lot, and we are determined to put our sweet little boy, Toby first.

Now we’ve moved into houses right next door to each other, with each of our new partners and their children. We’ve even knocked down the garden fence, so Toby can easily run between our homes.

But it seems not everyone is happy about this big, blended stepfamily. I try to ignore the viciously-worded note in the ‘new home’ card, the red pen scrawled through my divorce paperwork, and the day I find myself locked into my house, all the keys suddenly missing…

But I can’t pretend it’s all in my head when a false accusation is made against me that could destroy my life – and Toby’s – forever.

Someone doesn’t like what’s happening under these two neighbouring roofs.

What they don’t know is that they’re messing with the wrong person. And that hell hath no fury like the wife next door…

*Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* Jess and Rob have been married for a few years and have a young son together, Toby. When they decide to part ways, they think they can do so amicably and come up with a plan that will least disrupt the life of their son. What's the plan? They decide to buy two homes right next to each other. One for Jess and her new partner, Ben and the second for Rob and his partner Carol. The three children they share amongst them, Toby, Mo and Ruby will be free to roam between the two homes. Sound idyllic? Perhaps? Idealist? Definitely. A disaster? Absolutely. Because all is not as it seems and all of the adults are hiding something...

Another great read from Rona, I didn’t want to put it down!
Jess wasn’t happy in her marriage to Rob, they decided to amicably split and move on with different partners - Carol and Ben and their children. They found the ideal solution - to buy 2 houses next door and move in and be the perfect blended family. Move in day, it all seemed to change. Suspense on every page. A quick read, I’d highly recommend!

A gripping read as I've come to expect from the author by now. The plot moves along at a good pace and the characters are fascinating. Great twists too.

3.75 - Someone decided that ex partners Jess and Rob plus their new ones living next door to each other would be a great idea. Well maybe for the kids but definitely not the adults or rather one in particular. The story was somewhat predictable with plenty of red herrings and also the plot was far fetched but I loved it & ripped through it like a donkey on speed! The end was anti climactic and the heroine was one of those wet rags who dithered over every decision and believed everything she was told which was tedious. What a nice change to have a completely different setting, the lovely Isle of Man instead of the usual places such as London.

Oh.my.god!!!

This book was amazing. It kept me gripped and guessing all the way through. I suspected everyone at some point and had to keep reading as I was desperate to see how it would end. I can't wait to read another by this author.

Jess has just moved in with her new partner, her son and his daughter. It's a strange set up as she has moved next door to her ex husband and his new partner.

Everything seems to be running smoothly for Jess until she receives a new home card with a viscous message. This is just the start of strange events that makes her think someone is out to get her.

This was a great page turner, full of suspense and twists.

The Wife Next Door features Jess and her new partner, and Jess's ex-husband and his new partner. The two new couples decide to buy new homes side by side so they can all live close together and co-parent. Hmmm, is this really a good idea? Needless to say, things don't work out quite as well as Jess had hoped.

A nasty note in a housewarming card is just the beginning of Jess's problems as every relationship she has begins to break down. Can any of her loved ones be trusted?

This domestic thriller has a great ending; however, I didn't enjoy the gaslighting throughout, and the characters were not very clever. Also, trigger warning of child endangerment. All in all, this story was just mediocre for me, but I have loved other books by this author and will certainly read more from her in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Rona Halsall, and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Jess moves into a new house with her new partner, son, and daughter. Her ex-husband and his new family are Jess' new next door neighbours. Jess and her ex-husband ended things on great terms. So what could possibly go wrong? Well, strange things start happening. Jess receives an aggressive "new home" card, her divorce papers are marked up, and her house keys are all missing. Jess finds a threatening letter and realizes some is out to get her.

This book was exciting and well-written! The twists and turns kept me on my toes, trying to determine who was messing with Jess. The final twist was clever and definitely added to my overall liking of this book. This is an entertaining one that you will not be able to put down. I cannot wait to read more from this author!

A former married couple whose divorce was amicable, and they co-parent happily. They even move in next to each other for their child's sake. Everything is going well, and it looked like it was all blissful. But life likes to throw in some curveballs, just because. We meet Jess who moves in with her new family next door to her ex. The unusual events begin after she receives a letter. This starts off a whole line of strange events that makes Jess think that she maybe going insane. This probably one of the best psychological thrillers that I have read this year. The twists and turns, quite the rollercoaster ride. This is the first book that I have read from this author and I am now a new fan. Great storytelling and characters.

A jaw dropping physcological thriller that left me stunned. The plot is a little unbelievable but since it's fiction I think it works.

Thank you for providing me with a copy of this book.
I struggled to get into it because it was slow.
This book is well-written and there are no doubt many people who would be an ideal audience for this book.
But I am not one of them.

A blended family of two exes with their respective partners move next door to each other. This might not be a cup of tea for everyone but Jess and Ron are determined to make it work for their son Toby’s sake. Someone though is not very happy with their living arrangements and soon sinister incidents start happening around Jess. Is it a jealous neighbor or someone very close to home ?

The Wife Next Door by Rona Halsall is a tightly wound psychological thriller with enough secrets and twists and turns to discover that keeps misleading the reader .

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review

My first book by Rona Halsall and I will definitely be looking out for her books in the future, this was a great gripping story!

When Jess and her husband Rob decide to split up, they want to keep things amicable as they can to ensure that life is as stable as possible for their 7-year-old son Toby, it was a mutual break with both parties agreeing that their marriage was over, and they both have found new partners. Jess is now with Ben and Rob is with Carol, but they all get along really well and decide to blend their families by living next door to each other. Everyone Jess knows says the arrangement is crazy, but Jess, Ben and Rob and Carol are determined to make it work for the sake of Toby and Carol’s 5-year-old son Mo. However once moving day is over strange things start happening to Jess, innocuous things at first such as her keys going missing, an unpleasant message in a new home card and some mugs being broken but soon enough things escalate, and Jess starts to wonder who exactly she can trust. She knows that her and Rob’s living arrangements have caused some raised eyebrows locally, but she can’t figure out who or why someone would want to make her so scared in her new home. When events start to get out of control Jess needs to think fast, especially when Toby and Mo are brought into the dangerous drama that’s happening, and figure out who is behind everything that is going on.

This was great and I was hooked early on. I loved how the tension ramped up throughout the book until the atmospheric climax at the end. It was a very interesting storyline considering how blended families are talked about so much at the moment, although Jess and Rob did take the blending a little further than most divorced couples would. I liked the character of Jess although I couldn’t figure out whether she was oblivious to the red flags or just ignoring them in the hope that everything would work out ok. I did figure out who the baddie was about a quarter before the end, but to be honest this was pretty late, and it was almost spelled out to me by then. It did not ruin the story for me at all, I have to admit the villain was chilling and will definitely go on my list of “top 5 villains” so well done to Rona Halsall for writing such a deplorable character!

Overall, a great gripping psychological thriller that I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who likes this genre.

Thank you to NetGalley, Rona Halsall and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out now.
