I always pick up a Rona Halsall book with a thrill of anticipation knowing that I'm in for a thrilling, twisty read and this book didn't disappoint. Such an amazing premise - the perfect divorce and blended family - skilfully written, peppered with red herrings and suspects, the story held me in its grip right to the breathtaking sucker punch ending.

I found the premise of this book to be very interesting - divorced couple owning houses next to each other for the sake of their child, yet going on with their own lives into a truly blended extended family. It started really slowly and did a bit of backstory filling in, which was interesting but at times confusing because I wasn’t sure if it was “now” versus “then” when something was happening (not all chapters were labeled with the time period). This book was a quick read that sped up around the 75% mark. I did find the main character, Jess, a bit whiny at times, though I understand why she felt bamboozled by everything happening to her. A 3.5 star read rounded dup to 4 stars.

The premise of the book was intriguing -- two families living next door to each other for the sake of their child. This story is a slow burn with a pace that speeds up toward the end. Enjoyable psychological suspense. Recommended for those who love mystery/thrillers. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

A twisty and full of surprises book that kept me glued until I was finished, luckily I had lots of time to spare so I could concentrate on getting to the end. Every time I read one of Rona’s books, I say to myself how can She top this one and yet She has so all I have to do now is wait rather (im) patiently for the next one .

Rona Halsall is one of my go to authors when I am looking for guaranteed enjoyment. This is another addictive read that had me hooked from the very start.

Divorces can be messy and plenty of bad feeling but everything appears to be so different when they decide to move in next door to each other. Both with their new partners and children move into new houses to start new lives. Everyone seems to get on splendidly and they even knock down the garden fence that separates them, which encourages the children to feel there are no boundaries between the families.

Surely this amicable relationship is too much to be true and it is not long before something sinister starts to happen.

This was a very enjoyable read, great characters and a storyline that kept me hooked until the very end.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Bookouture for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

So Rona does not disappoint again with her latest thriller. This time we follow a blended family or friendly exes who decide for the sake of their child to move in next door to each other so they can share parenting. What should have been idilic turns into a nightmare for the ex wife who starts to think someone really wants her gone and will go to any lengths to make that happen even taking everything and everyone she loves away from her but is the truth even darker than she can imagine. I can’t spoil this one for you guys but it’s not to be missed.

As the description states - ‘Two Houses. Two front doors. One family’ What could possibly go wrong!

When a couple divorce, they want to make sure their child isn’t affected by it. Both have new partners with children of their own and they buy 2 houses next door to each other so that they can continue to help each other out.

All goes well until strange things start to happen. Gradually fallings-out occur and everyone doubts each other.

This is an excellent psychological thriller. My heart was pounding through the book and my nerves were in shreds! It starts off quite slowly and the pace gradually builds up. As for the ending - all I’m going to say is superb!
This is one book that I couldn’t put down.

My thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoy this author's work - always a tense intriguing psychological thriller....however if i had to choose I would say this is my favourite so far
Seriously, what can go wrong? A recently divorced couple...both with new partners....and one of the couples just happens to be moving in next door to the other,a recipe for harmony?.of course it's anything but and this book has 2 of my favourite things....new neighbours and strong, very strong love to hate characters - it may not be a recipe for a happy life for them all but it is a recipe for a fine book for us
If for one minute anyone thought this was going to be one extended blissful family they are more than wrong....and when the accusations start, cruel and nasty ones and people's hidden agendas come to the fore anything could and does happen
I mentioned it is tense.that's probably an understatement as it had me shouting and furious at one character....and as for the ending, well it was superb
Would make a brilliant Netflix series,it has all the ingredients needed and as always from this author written so well
Brilliant
