Really? That was it? I didn't want this one to end! It was so gripping. So so good! I hope all my next read is this good! Loved it.
Cheers to Netgalley!
The Wife Next Door is a book full of twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages until you’ve found out what’s been going on.
Jess and Rob have split up and to keep things good for their young son they buy 2 houses next door to each other and whilst that seems strange factor in they are moving in these houses with their new partners makes for an interesting read. Jess is full of hope when she moves in with Ben but things go down hill quickly from her dream life she thought she’d have. Carol, Robs new partner has seemed to monopolised her son and Jess doesn’t see him as much as she thought as Carol takes him on days out with her young son. Add to that strange things happening in her house and things going missing something is wrong but who is doing it and why?
This was a different read that I enjoyed from start to finish, it had me pointing the finger many a time at the wrong person, the characters were all likeable so that made the read easier and the pace was good all the way through with no let up, the ending was neat and left me with no unanswered questions.
I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC I received in exchange for an honest review.
📚 Book Review 📚 ⭐️⭐️
The Wife Next Door by Rona Halsall
A divorced couple who want to coparent their son buy houses next door to each other? What could possibly go wrong?
Sounds intriguing right?! The premise is as good as this book gets. The main character has things happen to her but there’s no woman who would just brush them off so easily and accept the things that happen. The twist and this story don’t make sense….I wanted to scream to the “twister” that they could have done things so much differently!
It took me longer to get through this book than it should have just because I never felt really invested in the story or cared what happened to the characters but it had great reviews and I was waiting for that OH SNAP moment to come and it never did.
This was a new author for me and I did like the storyline; be prepared it’s different. Don’t take my word for it, check it out. I will read more from this author
The plot of The Wife Next Door screams 'recipe for disaster!'
I'm sorry, on what planet does a divorced couple think it's a good idea to move into houses next door to each other?! Halsall does a solid job of explaining why the family does it, but I just don't get it.
That said, once I let go of that issue, I was invested and was swept along with the plot happily. It is fast paced, with creepy and chilling vibes throughout.
Aside from my issue with the main premise, the characters are mostly likeable and I rooted for them.
The main selling point for this book has to be that ending though. I have come to expect shockers from this author after reading this, it is clever!
An enjoyable read.
This was very gripping an intense. It kept me up way past my bedtime. Was well written and finely executed.
This is a gripping story with lots of twists and characters that I wasnt sure who to trust. I did think the ending came quite abruptly but that still didnt spoil the overall story.
Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC
The story centers around Jess, who following an amicable divorce from her ex husband Rob, found the perfect answer to co-parenting by purchasing the home next door to him.
Jess and her partner, Ben are now living next door to Rob, his partner Carol, and her son Mo. Toby, the son of Rob and Jess, splits his time between both homes. Got all that?! :)
Suddenly, someone...or something...begins to threaten Jess' domestic bliss. But who...and why?
This book definitely kept me guessing until the end. While slow at times, and I found Jess to be mildly frustrating, the overall story was good and I found it to be a quick read.
Many thanks to the author, Net Galley, and Bookouture for the ARC.
This is a gripping domestic thriller, fast paced and hard to put down. My only criticism is that it seemed to end abruptly. Still, I would definitely recommend.
I really enjoyed The Wife Next Door by Rona Halsall. Not sure if I could move next door to my ex but that’s what Jess and Rob agree to do. Then things go from bad to worse. Lots of twists and turns throughout. Who was being lied to and manipulated? A great read.
This was good. Not the most unexpected book but I still got enjoy it. Thank you for the opportunity to read it as an ARC

I was really looking forward to this one, it was " Okay" I didnt love but I didnt loathe. It was just an average read for me.
EXCELLENT domestic thriller, keeping the suspense high wondering what the heck is going on. Well written with great characterization amidst lots of intrigue. Totally enjoyed & RECOMMEND highly for a terrific read. Thanks to #Bookouture & #NetGalley for this ARC in return for my honest review.
The Wife Next Door is a psychological thriller for readers who enjoy domestic dramas. Sadly, I've been too busy to sit down and read and the book expired on me before I finished reading it. I'm half-way through the book and I think I know who's the bad guy, but I'll have to buy it now as I have to know how things work out in the end!
Thanks to Bookouture, Rona Halsall and Netgalley for the ARC.

The Wife Next Door took me a little while to get into. After a couple chapters it did move along quickly. This book was very unbelievable at times and the characters were very unlikeable. The ending was a surprise and will keep up you guessing until the end. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.
The Wife Next Door by Rona Halsall was another excellent book by her. Every book I have read by Rona, I have been gripped from the beginning till the end. She has a way of writing, that just has you hooked from the very first few pages. The only down fall to all her book is, You don't want the story to finish, as they are always so Good! all the characters are brilliant and you become apart of her books. This makes Rona one of the best authors out there.
I highly recommend all her books especially The Wife Next Door.......A 5 star read.
