Again, maybe I just need a break from this genre for a bit because this was another just okay read for me. I did enjoy it and never lost interest but it was just an average read. I think what alot of it was, was the dialogue. It was bit ridiculous. Someone gets stabbed and the other person says, "hmmm, now why would this person do this? Let's go talk the them". That's not a direct quote but just an example of how it seemed to me. Along with the amount of times someone says "hmmm" out loud. I know it's not real life, but I with dialogue, I want to feel like it's how people actually speak. Again, maybe it's just me. I'm not trying to be malicious and I could never make the accomplishment of writing a book, but I just didn't care for this one too much. I'm giving this two and a half stars rounded up because it still held my interest as well as the mystery. Three Stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

This was such a gripping psychological thriller that I have read that put me at the edge of my seat!
Jess and Rob are divorced but are seeing different partners--Rob is seeing Carol, a single mother to a boy named Mo and Jess is seeing a man named Ben who has a teenage daughter named Ruby. They decided to move to next to each other--their houses right next to each other. Everything seems to go smoothly until Jess finds a threatening note. Soon, things start to escalate and someone clearly is not happy with the arrangement.
From start to finish, it was really engrossing. I like how the climax starts building towards the middle of the book, when Jess's son Toby shows signs of bruises, prompting the social services to take Toby away. Jess seems to suspect everyone and her relationship with Carol turns sour. I do like the bit of family drama that is in the story coupled with the twisted thriller in the book. The story itself was quite unputdownable and fast paced. The ending was unexpected and I do like the sort of cliff-hanger in the end, wondering if there might be a part two or not and what is going to happen next! Overall, I actually enjoyed reading this fast-paced thriller and would recommend if you like a thriller with bit of a family drama in in it. Worth 4.5 stars!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I thought this book was done so well. It was a interesting concept to a domestic thriller that I don't think I've ever seen. I thought the writing was so good. Highly recommend.

WOW!! Honestly I don’t know where to start.
This book is one seriously twisted tale about blended families.
Following Jess, recently split from her husband. They have both moved on and have decided to live next door to each other. Both Jess and her partner Ben, and Rob and his partner Carol are all the best of friends. It makes sense, especially for the kids.
Not going to lie, this screamed disaster to me from the start. Don’t get me wrong, at first I was a little jealous – imagine breaking up with your partner and it all being amicable and not weird. But if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
As soon as they moved into their houses next door to each other life started to go a little wrong for Jess. Small things at first, that started to get worse and worse.
The Wife Next Door was cleverly written into making you think who the culprit was. Possibly even to have your mind changed a couple of times.
BUT that twist!!! Is quite a shocker!! And by the end of the book, I was fairly creeped out at just what lengths some people can go to get what they want.

A crazy, intriguing read.
When Jess and Rob get divorced, it's one of the most amicable divorce anyone had ever seen or heard of. When they decide to live next to each other, with their new partners, Ben and Carol, so that their son can be close to both parents, it seems too good to be true. But suddenly strange messages appear for Jess and things start falling apart. Her dynamics with Carol too end up being messed up and things get out of control when social services get involved and Jess seems to be the target of someone's hatred.
Engaging read
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC

Me and my Husband are separated
And we both loved Toby our sweet lovable boy
Now we live in a house next door to my ex husband and I don’t think that anyone I know doesn’t like it
I had an ARC

Oh my goodness I really enjoyed reading this book! It was full of deception and secrets, and it kept me interested the whole time.

What a fantastic thriller. Such a well thought out book which kept me turning the pages. I loved it.
The author makes the characters so believable and it really keeps the reader guessing about what is actually going on.
Honestly one of my favourite thrillers with a good ending.
Fantastic book!!!!!

This book was everything I look for in a book. It was so exciting. The plot was fantastic. It really had me on the edge of my seat, and my heart racing. It was very well written and flowed well.

Just because it’s over between us, doesn’t mean we can’t be friends. My ex-husband and I still care for each other a lot, and we are determined to put our sweet little boy, Toby first.
Now we’ve moved into houses right next door to each other, with each of our new partners and their children. We’ve even knocked down the garden fence, so Toby can easily run between our homes.
But it seems not everyone is happy about this big, blended stepfamily. I try to ignore the viciously worded note in the ‘new home’ card, the red pen scrawled through my divorce paperwork, and the day I find myself locked into my house, all the keys suddenly missing…
But I can’t pretend it’s all in my head when a false accusation is made against me that could destroy my life and Toby’s forever.
Really enjoyable read totally recommend
Thank You NetGalley and Bookouture
I just reviewed The Wife Next Door by Rona Halsall. #TheWifeNextDoor #NetGalley

This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good thriller!!
Absolutely loved the characters, the plot, the tension - impossible to put it down.
Certainly recommended!

“We’re like the bloody Four Musketeers aren’t we, in this new venture of ours. You, me, Carol and Rob. All for one and one for all.”
Let renowned psychological thriller author Rona Halsall sweep you away to the Isle of Man as she explores whether an amicable divorce is possible for Rob and Jess. You’ll head to a new housing estate in Peel, a small fishing town on the west coast of the Isle of Man, an island in the middle of the Irish Sea where ‘blending’ takes on a whole new meaning! You’ll be shocked to discover that Rob and Jess move in next door to each other … with their new partners and children. You snickered, didn’t you?! Yes, me, too. Get comfortable, grab a glass of Rioja, and see how compatible and wise this move turns out to be!
“We’re going to be one family, living in two houses.”
I loved the constant friction, the mysteries, the twists … all of it! What a great book. I was gasping, giggling, and on the edge of my seat for most of this compelling read.
You need this book.
I was gifted this advance copy by Bookouture and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

If you want a pfaat paced thriller then this is absolutely the one. I flew through it in a day and loved it. It wad nice ti have a slightly original concept to begin with and the author really did wonders with it. It wasn't the deepest book but yeah, I really enjoyed it

Well written with an interesting and thought provoking premise, a compelling storyline and well developed characters. I was gripped right from the start and was kept guessing up until the end.

What a great fast paced thriller read this is I loved every page, it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I have read a few books from this author and enjoyed them all, never been disappointed.
The characters were interesting and kept me involved in the storyline all the way through with a superb ending which brought this book to a satisfactory conclusion.
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

This is the first Rona Halsall book I’ve read but won’t be the last! This was a tense, anxiety-inducing thriller from the moment Jess got her first threatening letter.
Jess and her husband separate and have new partners. They share a son so when the opportunity arose, they moved into an attached home next door to each other to make things easier on him. But once they move in, Jess’ life starts to get out of control.
I actually think Jess was a great relatable character. Her feelings and actions were believable for someone who was in her position. I was angry for her the whole time as more and more things went wrong.
Most of the other characters were developed well but I did think Ben had some conflicting traits and I was confused that we first learned he didn’t drink but then drank multple times throughout the book.
I was kept guessing for most of the book until the point where I believe Rona wanted us to piece it together. I did suspect this person occassionally but I kept having changing theories throughout and literally suspected every character at some point! I loved not being able to confidently guess until the end ! I’ve read so many thrillers that I find I am pretty good at figuring out what’s happening so I love when I can’t.
I have a bad habit of reading more than 1 book at a time, usually one from the library and one from NetGalley and I had to put my other down and read this one straight through. Had I not had to work or sleep I would have read this in one sitting!
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

This is the first book I have read by Rona Halsall and I absolutely loved it! It was a page turner from the beginning and I read it in one sitting!
Can a couple divorce and then move next door to each other with their new partners and live the perfect blended family life or will lines be crossed? Jess was so excited to start this new phase in her life and thought everything was going to work out perfectly. But someone is playing tricks on her yet everyone thinks she is going crazy. Weird things continue to happen to Jess but no one is listening because they think she has changed her mind and is still in love with her ex. All the twists will keep you guessing as to who is doing this to her until the end when things start to unravel.
I definitely recommend this read and cannot wait to check out more from this talented author!
Thank you Netgalley, the publisher and the author for my ARC !

Two houses. Two front doors. One family. And we’re going to make it work. Nothing can possibly go wrong. Today we move into our new houses, right next door to each other. My ex-husband and me. He’s with someone else. So am I.
Well this definitely sets up the storyline for a very complicated family situation. Can this possibly work or will forces be against them? I think it would be much less entertaining for all of us if this goes very smoothly, we all need a few bumps along the way to keep us engaged and entertained. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be on the look out for more of this authors work.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions are my own.

First off I want to thank @netgalley & @bookouture for my free ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a good, fast paced read. I enjoyed the book, the plot and the thrill, but it did lack certain aspects for me. I was super intrigued when I started it, couldn't stop reading, then it became confusing, then there were some holes in my honest opinion. Sometimes I felt lost in the dialogues, in the storyline, somethings were going way too fast and did not leave place to any anticipation.
Throughout the whole book I did not feel any particular attachment to any of the characters, they fell flat for me. I couldn't get attached to Jess and honestly didn't care much about what happened to her in the end. The twists and turns were good, I was really confused, doubting everyone in this book including Jess. I was not expecting the final twist, reasoning behind it all which made me appreciate it more.
If you're a fan of fast paced, psychological thrillers you should give it a try!

I was absolutely excited to read this book, and it did not disappoint. I spent the entire rainy night, absolutely delved into the plot.
