This is the first book I read from this author and I loved it! I felt so sorry for Ava and everything she had to endure with her impediment. I honestly wasn't sure about Caid in the beginning, but boy did he grow on me. The book was well written, the characters were developed and it had a good plot. There was plenty of nice spicy times with some light BDSM. It did not over power the story in any way and was perfectly written. I sure hope this author writes more as I totally devoured this book! This was an ARC copy.

Ava, an orphaned young woman, is very much under the controlling thumb of her "uncle," who desperately wants to get his hands on her parents' medical protocol and patents worth millions of dollars, regardless of how much Ava is abused in the transaction. Ava befriends a woman who is co-owner of a sex club and, with the other four co-owners, decides to take down this depraved "uncle" and gain her freedom.
This book was well written, aside from the sexual logistics of the 50 Shades of Grey and 365 Days scenes, though the plot to take down the monster had some continuity issues and weird setups. All in all, the MCs were well rounded with plausible back stories, which made for a valid understanding of their motives and actions. Even with the much-needed editing of this ARC, the story was easy to follow and was a quick read.

This was a great first read from this author. I liked the relationship between Ava and Caid. The book was well-written and the plot kept things interesting. Overall, a romantic and suspenseful journey.

This was my first read from this author and I really enjoyed her writing style. Set in a BDSM Club I enjoyed the slowburn feel of Ava and Caid's relationship. Throw in a dash of danger and some great supporting characters and I binged this in one session. Great read.

This was a really sweet and sexy romance book! Ava and Caid had a really wonderful relationship that was so sweet I nearly died and the amount of times that he literally went after her just because he had to have her? I need someone to chase after me with that much dedication. 😭 The plot was pretty good too, Ava’s past and her troubles were weaved into the story well and Caid’s own flaws were shown clearly too. Plus, the sex made my face turn red and I literally made sure no one in my house saw me read it. It was amazing! Super ship Ava and Caid! They’ve got so much heart to go around and I hope I can have a bit of what they have in my love life too.
P.S. And can I just say that Ava’s ex is such a narcissist. Boooo.

The main character joins a sex club owned by a good friend and after a few months of attending, she approaches another of the owners expressing her interest. After he shoots her down, the group of owners finds out about a threat against her and so to protect her, the two pretend to date while trying to stop the man who is threatening her.
Five of Club is a dark romance with family intrigue and plenty of love. This book was hard to put down while giving me exactly what I wanted out of it. Certainly a hot and steamy read!

Five of Club is a dark romance with family intrigue and plenty of love. I enjoyed the dynamic between the leaders of the club and how they made their own little chosen family. Chosen families can be so important, and allow for really interesting story building.
I didn’t enjoy the MMC’s attitude towards the MFC at all. He was a bully and he came off like he was either embarrassed of her, or like she wasn’t good enough for him. That didn’t get a sufficient comeuppance in the story for my liking, but that’s personal taste.
Overall this is well written, a little lengthy, but enjoyable. The setting is well built and explained, and the prose flows nicely.

Very interesting and dark read, kept me wanting for more and kept me turning the pages. This book was hard to put down while giving me exactly what I wanted out of it. Certainly a hot and steamy read!

Five of Clubs was a creative and unique romance novel with a plot that kept me engaged. The main character joins a sex club owned by a good friend and after a few months of attending, she approaches another of the owners expressing her interest. After he shoots her down, the group of owners finds out about a threat against her and so to protect her, the two pretend to date while trying to stop the man who is threatening her.
The good: the story was engaging, had my favorite forced proximity/fake dating trope.
The okay: there were many parts of the suspense plot (and in the book as a whole) that felt either not fully filled in.
The areas for improvement: often the writing in the book had room for improvement, as if it had not been sufficiently edited. There were awkward phrasings and unclear sentences that made this book feel like a draft. I did read this as an ARC so perhaps this has been improved.

I found this book very gripping and difficult to put down. The writing was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the character development and the world created in this book.

I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book at first, and it pleasantly surprised me. I thought I’d thoroughly dislike Kincaid based on the first real insight into him, and I did for a while, until it revealed why he was who he was. Ava, I loved from the beginning. Her innocence mixed with her resilience and the fierce loyalty and protectiveness she has for those she loves, struck something deep within me. Watching her romance bloom along with their struggles dealing with a certain uncle, had me hooked as deeply into this book as humanly possible. I started reading it and simple couldn’t put it down until I finished. The book was nothing short of heart wrenching in parts and also made me smile so hard my jaws hurt at other parts. The constant twists and turns and anticipation made it that much better. I can only hope the author will decide to write a few more books focusing on other characters within this.

Great book. I have recently gotten into these darker romance books and I loved this one. It was a great blend of plot and spice.
