Thank you to NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours/Lake County Press for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was really excited to start this book since, from the description, it had the cutest set-up to be a romcom. Sadly to say, I had a hard time getting into the book. I don't think the writing was the main reason since I found it quite easy to understand and, as someone whose English isn't the first language, I also didn't find any difficult words that put me into searching the meaning to understand better what was happening. The 'problem' was the male love interest and all that was happening with the main female character. As for saying this, I think this book is much more of a General Fiction's book than a Romance book. For people who already read and will read this book in the future, I think you will understand what I mean with the General Fiction once you read this book because, as far as I can share, there is a considerable amount of focus on side characters's stories and their relationship with the main characters. About the male love interest, Kade is a strong personality character and it's a case of love or hate for him. I think he was the only character with a big development and it was nice to follow it through this book. And, still talking about the romance, I almost could consider this a slow-burn since it takes a while for things to really start happening between the main characters. One thing I would have loved to see a bit more was Liana giving more opinions about the e-mails she received and a bit of the background, how her blog started, how she was able to make her blog grew up and things like that. As a whole, I enjoyed the book more towards the end of it, where you can see the relationships between the two main characters and see how they end up together.

For people who might be interested in reading this book, I would say pick this book with an open mind. The romance will be more of a sub plot and you will read about more things, such as friendship, growth and some other topics. One thing I highly suggest is to check the TW before reading it since it has some sensitive topics and it might not be for everyone.

3.5 stars, wavering about which way to round it because I did find the romance in the last third of the book cute. There were aspects to Love, Liana… Sincerely, Kade that I did enjoy; for one, the premise of Kade writing to Liana’s advice blog was intriguing. I appreciated that Kade in particular had a lot of character growth; Liana learns a little bit about herself but I think Kade’s journey is more memorable and obvious.

Honestly, I didn’t like Kade or Liana for the first half or so of the book. I know part of that is because of Kade’s poor coping mechanisms and past trauma, but it doesn’t change the fact that he was kind of terrible to everyone except his best friend, Stephanie (the condescending attitude he had about Liana’s blog and his arrogance really annoyed me initially). I liked seeing him trying new things like watching romcoms and discovering that he liked them and wanting to go to therapy and actually learning things from therapy. His increased self-awareness and connection to his emotions in the latter part of the story showed just how much progress he made, and I was proud of him for that. (Doesn’t change the fact that I wouldn’t have even talked to him if I were Liana though lol. He was such an ass.) Liana also had me side-eyeing her character because so many of her thoughts after meeting Kade were just about her lust and physical attraction to him. And the way all her family drama played out was so frustrating. The resolution of at least some of it felt rushed as well, as there’s never a real talk on page between Liana and Kit after the huge fight; we’re told about her gesture and then everything’s fixed? I didn’t like that much at all, considering how big of a deal their fight was to Liana and how dysfunctional their family is.

And the family plus best friend drama of five years ago with Luka and everything seemed to be fixed to easily. Liana didn’t even give Luka a hard time about it after he suddenly reappeared, but from what we know about what happened, I didn’t get why she was so nice to him. I didn’t care for the whole mean girl might be nice but no she just sucks for real thing we got, either. Liana’s family just seems like trash, and I still don’t forgive Kit. Eh.

The romance between Liana and Kade was cute, but while I do like slow burns, the will they won’t they got frustrating here because their reasons for not getting involved with each other seemed flimsier the longer it went on. Liana calling Kade a client didn’t make sense to me when she’s literally just an advice blogger answering his question for free? He’s not paying her?? She’s not his therapist??? I was less convinced the longer it went on. I did like that they got to build up their friendship first, though, and actually spend time getting to know each other. It turned out to be a big thing for Kade, too, who is used to sleeping with women casually as a coping mechanism or form of escapism, I guess. And after they did finally get together, their relationship was adorable. The way Kade and Liana support each other and how soft they are and just mushy and sweet made me smile. I love how happy they made each other. The reason behind their separation then was actually believable because of Kade’s mental health struggles, but it was nevertheless frustrating, particularly because of Kade’s wait in between realizing how he messed up and finally doing something about it. The grand gesture was cute though and romcom worthy.

I do wish that we got more of the email exchange between Liana and Kade initially, but I liked that Kade felt comfortable opening up to Liana both through email and in person. The way they felt open around each other was really sweet.

Overall the romance is a cute part of this story, and I respect that some heavier issues were addressed, but some of it got very exhausting (family drama, the abusive side character relationship) in ways that I think prevented this from really feeling like a romcom. It’s tricky to try to tackle all of these things in a way where every aspect of the story feels balanced and well addressed, but props to the author for the effort.

When I read the blurb, I was immediately excited and thought the book had all the elements I usually love in a romcom. However, it was really hard for me to get into it. The first 60% of the book was so slow and I felt that the romance fell into the background. There was just so much going on in this book. We have the MMC struggling with his traumatic childhood and also trying to get his closest friend out of an abusive relationship, while the FMC had some intense family drama going on. There was also some OM/OW drama. All of those things just took away from the romance and made the story feel very chaotic.

I did really enjoy the leads though. Kade and Liana were so funny together. The sexual tension between them was so palpable and I loved the spicy scenes.

All in all, this was still a super cute read, but I do think the book had a bit too much drama for my liking. I would still recommend it to romcom lovers out there. Just be sure to check the trigger warnings!

A romantic-advice blogger wants to learn from the king of one night stand. He wants to know about love and she wants advice on sexual intimacy. They become friends and more... The dialogue is funny and there are so many LOL scenes. Both are terrific and entertaining characters. Really enjoy this book.

Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

I completely devoured this book and couldn't put it down, I started reading this on September 1st and finished it the next day. This book follows our main characters Kade and Liana, Kade writes a letter to liana who has a romance blog to ask for help with learning how to love. Kade and Liana partner up to learn from each other and it begins a fun collaboration and friendship between them.
Kade and Lina are such compelling characters I enjoyed the personal development and journey they both went through in this book, I think that the mental health aspect and well-being of some characters were so necessary and relatable even in a book with so many funny and comedic moments.
There were so many fun moments, there were sad and emotional moments especially when it came to heartbreak, past trauma, and loss and there was that tug and pull between the main characters that were fighting their attraction to each other. This book also has spicy moments that fit right into the book. Overall this was a cute book about healing self-discovery and falling in love.
There is some content that could be difficult for some readers so be sure to check out the warnings at the beginning of the book.

Meet Liana Dawson, a perpetually single romantic advice blogger.
She's one set of granny panties away from proclaiming herself New York City's version of Bridget Jones when she's hit with a fan demand for sex advice. With an unwavering belief in love (and rom-com superiority), there's no relationship problem Love, Liana can't fix... until a fascinating, albeit cocky, email paves the way to a whirlwind friendship that leaves Liana questioning everything she thought she knew about falling in love.
Enter Kade Jennings, the ass who wrote it.
After writing in to a popular blog to get some answers about whether love exists, Kade receives an offer he can't refuse one that throws his world of one night stands, whiskey, and books into a tailspin at the hands of a woman he had no intention of ever meeting.
Liana knows love, Kade knows sex. They could be each other's, perfect teachers... if they can keep their hands off long enough to learn.
Really enjoyable read totally recommend

Liana and Kade, they seem to be opposites in every way. Liana is the author of a love advice blog and Kade is the King of one night stands that doesn’t believe in love. Liana is a hopeless romantic that doesn’t have much of a love life of her own. She loves to help people find love and work through the challenges of love. She receives an email from Kade, a man that is completely full of himself. Kade does not believe in love, as he has never himself felt love. He writes in asking for Liana’s help understanding what love is. Liana is initially stumped, completely unsure how to respond to this email. After a publicity event at a local bookstore that leads Liana to expanding her blog to include a section on advice pertaining to sex, she comes to the idea that her and Kade may be able to help each other out. What follows is an unexpected friendship that has the potential to be so much more. They each push each other outside of their comfort zones and support each other through some difficult personal experiences. I very much enjoyed reading through Liana and Kade’s story and truly enjoyed the ending. I look forward to reading whatever Allie Doherty comes up with next.

Love, Liana… Sincerely, Kade by Allie Doherty @authorallie was a genuine lovely surprise. I got an early released copy of this thanks to netgalley and was honestly just expecting a normal rom com.
This book turned out to be way more than that. Yes, it has the grumpy sunshine characters, but the characters had a lot of depth too.

This story follows Liana, who writes for her successful love advice column and Kade who is an f*** boy. Liana starts getting push back from her followers because she doesn’t give sex advice. Liana and Kade seek an arrangement where she learns about sex from him and he gets shown how to love and not just lust after people. This romantic comedy reminds me a lot of “You’ve got mail”.

Right off the bat, you really don’t want to like Kade because he seems like an asshole womanizer, but what makes this story unique in my eyes is how you get to see another side of Kade after just 3-4 chapters you start to love the character.

This book is officially released on September 27th so go preorder this now! I think this is definitely going to be great for anyone who loves enemies to lovers and a bit of a slow burn romance.

Look up trigger warnings!

Overall, I rate this 3.75 ⭐️ /5
