This was such a fun, quick read. Loved the characters, loved the plot, loved how it ended.
Liana and Kade were both such different characters, but also had so many similarities. I loved how their relationship unfolded and how they dug into some deep topics along the way.
Definitely check out the trigger warnings on this one before reading, there are some heavy topics discussed throughout.
My only critic is I wish we knew more about Liana's family and how that ended up shaking out and more history on her mom. Also some of the chapters were formatted weird, but I assume that will all get fixed once this is fully available and published.
Overall, solid 4 star read. Kept me flying through the chapters.
Thank you netgalley and Lake County Press & Preview for my eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book had some truly hilarious moments, but I fully predicted the main plot for this book from page 5, and that's fine, but with these characters it just didn't feel real. These characters, Liana and Kade felt like caricature of those types of people.
In Kade's firtst chapter we see him have sex with two people whose names he doesn't know and treat his assistant/roommate/friend like crap. I know he grows and learns but for me that was an impossible first impression to get over.
I must admit that I couldn't wait to get into this book. I thought the summary sounded incredibly interesting. But unfortunately, I didn't like this book to its fullest.
I was able to finish the story because it was engaging enough, but there were some elements that I thought were superfluous or just extra pages added without any justification.
Although this book was undoubtedly a slow burner, I really enjoyed the energy this couple shown throughout the book. They had a fantastic chemistry and brought out the best in one other, allowing them to be completely unapologetically themselves when they were together.
Overall, the romance in this narrative is endearing, and I like that some more serious topics were covered. However, some of it family conflict, the abusive side character connection, for example got quite tiresome in ways that, in my opinion, blocked this from truly feeling like a romcom.

I had quite a bit of fun reading this book, it was a little slow at times but other than that I really enjoyed Liana and Kade’s story. I think I could’ve done with out a lot of the family drama on Liana’s end, I found myself wanting to rush through those parts to get to more of her and Kade.
It was funny to me how I went from being annoyed by Kade’s behavior to absolutely adoring him after seeing his pretentious asshole thing was just a fake persona he created to keep from being hurt.
Definitely a slow burn but an enjoyable light read nonetheless

I was so excited to read this based on the description, but it fell flat. I found the story so hard to get into and really did not care for either Kade or Liana. I didn't really understand the point of their relationship at all. Kade's redeeming feature was his deep devotion to Stephanie. He was kind, strong, and would do anything for her. Stephanie's story was far more interesting than the main characters and I really only finished the book because I wanted to make sure she would be ok. This book has too many themes that do not work together well (some of them are very dark so be aware).
I wish I liked it more.
I liked this one, but can't say I loved it.
It has a lot of cute moments, little spicy, and your standard HEA.
There was a lot of backstory / family drama, some of which seemed a little superfluous. Just a hair too much "will they, won't they" for me before Kade and Liana get together.
Would definitely read more by this author, dual POV style and writing style along the lines of my usual likes
Fun Dual POV Romance. If I'm being completely honest, I initially found Kade's narrative jarring, and wondered if I was the right reader for this story. But once I got a few chapters in, I couldn't stop reading. I stayed up WAY too late, desperate to know how it ended! While the overall vibe of this story was definitely RomCom, it was also incredibly emotional, and dealt with the realities of hard love and harmful family dynamics. This book stands out from other "opposites attract" romances, mainly with the balance/give-and-take between Kade and Liana. Each had their flaws and apprehensions, each helped the other grow and gain the confidence they deserved. "Love, Liana... Sincerely, Kade" was a heartfelt, clever book I'd recommend to romance lovers looking for a unique twist on a slow burn romance that pays off in some big (and spicy) ways.
Thanks to the publisher and author for the chance to read and review this ARC!
this book has:
- sunshine/grumpy trope
- dual pov
- slow burn
- witty banter
- found family
- romance advice blogger fmc
- literary agent mmc
liana, a romance advice blogger gets increasing demands for sex-related advice but lacks expertise in the topic. kade, a bachelor and self-proclaimed expert in sex agrees to help her in exchange for love advice.
i adored this romcom & didn’t want to stop reading! It’s such a cute read, whilst also touching on several sensitive topics. i usually hate the “bachelor who knows all about sex and nothing about love” trope for mmcs but kade had so much more depth to him & his character developed well throughout the book. liana’s character trope was the awkward/quirky girl but done in way that was actually cute instead of cringey & she always held her own. i loved their development from strangers to (slight) enemies to friends to lovers & they had great chemistry throughout the whole book.
however the writing & structure was a little confusing at times & even though it did make sense for their situation, i didn’t like the 3rd act break-up because most of the time it feels unnecessary. i also wish we got to see kit grovel to liana because she pissed me off so much!!
tw: drug & alcohol use, domestic abuse, parental loss, mental health journey

I was so excited about this book from the description and setup I had such high expectations. Unfortunately, this book wasn't everything for me. I found the story a little slow and wasn't able to connect with the characters. The story was entertaining enough that I finished it but there were some aspects that I felt were unnecessary and just pages being added for no reason.
.
now for the things that I did enjoy. I liked seeing kades character development. At about 70% I started to really enjoy kade and lianas relationship and felt like they finally had chemistry.
.
overall this book was just an okay average romance read.

Opposites attract in this city based romcom
💙Liana is an advice blogger who knows more about love than sex. Kade is a player who knows all about sex but nothing about love. The two come together to share their wisdom with each other.
This book had some things that I liked but some that I was very on the fence about too.
What I liked:
💙 the entire concept was great. Liana and Kade were definitely opposites and seeing them come together for “educational” purposes was fun.
💙 Kade. He was gruff and blunt but I still liked him. He has zero filter and that was my favorite part. It made him funny even when he wasn’t trying to be.
💙 There we’re a lot of heavy topics (check TW) that were handled well.
What I was on the fence about:
☕️ The pacing felt off to me at times. It takes a while for things to get going. Definitely a slow burn.
☕️ for a book that was sex forward in the concept, it was missing spice. A few more 🔥🔥 scenes would have been better.
☕️ the character dumps got to me. A few times, character were dropped in without explanation when one was needed. Along with this, some things were left unresolved or just summarized when I wanted to see it played out.
All in all, this was a nice read. If you are into slow burns and opposites attract this is one for you!

I was so excited to start this book. The summary sounded like something I would really enjoy. Unfortunately it fell flat for me. There was so much going on and it was hard to keep up with everything. I really liked Kade. His background was so interesting and I enjoyed watching his character develop. I unfortunately did not like Liana. I felt all the family drama was so over the top and mostly unnecessary. It was hard for me to want to pick this book up and keep reading it. Kade and Lianas relationship
didn't really pick up until about 60% into the book, and even then it felt unrealistic. On a positive note I really enjoyed reading about the friendship between Kade and his best friend Stephanie.
Thank you to Lake County Press & Review for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion on this book!
Okay… WOW! Allie Doherty is going to become a BIG name in romantics genre. In your typical romance fashion, we have our female lead Liana who is a true romantic and has her own romance column to give advice to those seeking help. Then we have our sexy, confident male lead who is an expert in one night stands but doesn’t have a clue about love! That’s where the story starts.
Kade uses the “Love Liana” column and goes into great detail about his sex life, something Liana is no expert in, and she leaves his email unanswered for days. Liana has an idea! They should work together! She can help him with love and he can’t help her answer the sexy questions!
The way Doherty writes the sexual tension in the book had me in my room with my jaw dropped through multiple chapters. I seriously couldn’t put this book down, i was obsessed with what was going to happen next! Even the relationships the main characters have with side characters is a compelling storyline.
Overall, I seriously loved this book and would definitely recommend to a friend. Allie Doherty is a name I will be keeping an eye on, I have no doubt she will have a successful career as an author!
Liana and Kade had the perfect blend of slow burn and humor with chemistry right out the gate. And I know it was more a sub plot I really appreciated the take on toxic relationships and mental health. Liana recognizing it within her relationships with Zoe and her father and Kade realizing there was nothing he could do for Stephanie if she didn't want to help herself. It was a great lesson for us all. I truly enjoyed this book.
3 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️
A cute, romantic, albeit unoriginal story.
Meet Liana Dawson. A romance blog writer who is enjoying success guiding and advising people in love…..
Enter Kade Jennings…. A broken, promiscuous guy who wants to know and find real, true love.
What ensues is a predictable ride of friendship, love, heartbreak, and self-discovery.
My biggest issue with this book was the speed at which the relationship between our two main characters progressed. It seems that was done for a purposeful reason, but I found myself finding the development timeline of Kade and Liana’s relationship unrealistic and bothersome. The development for true deep down love seemed lost in the fact that they only thought the other was really hot.
I also wanted more closure or just….. MORE information and resolution with characters like Cleo and Zoe.
The book wasn’t bad by any means. It was a light, easy, romantic read if that is what you are looking for:

What an amazing read! This book definitely went a little deeper and more serious than I though it was going to be, but I really enjoyed it. I thought it was well written and the writer did a great job handling sensitive topics. I was rooting for Liana and Kade the whole time! Such a good book that I definitely recommend!

Thank you to NetGalley, Allie Doherty, and Lake County Press & Review for this ARC!
The premise of this book really intrigued me. And so, unfortunately, I had high expectations. I really wanted to like this, and it’s not that I don’t, I’m just indifferent about it.
Kade and Liana had the sweetest banter, and I really liked them together. Kade is a really interesting MMC, maybe the most interesting one I’ve read about in a while. His childhood trauma and all the troubles he goes through really make me feel for him. And I loved that he didn’t shy away from that. Liana was a strong FMC, I liked her, she was smart, sweet and funny. I, however, did not like her family. And we see A LOT of them in the story. So much so, that I found myself skipping through some parts, just to get to Liana and Kade. I would’ve gave this a higher rating, but the conflict at the end, AFTER ALL THAT HAPPENED. Seemed like too much. Aside from that, a lot of things felt unrealistic. I mean, Liana being 23? I couldn’t believe that. Her and Kade definitely sounded like they were in their thirties, instead of in their twenties.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was a good time! The dual-POV follows Liana of “Love, Liana” advice column fame and Kade, a literary agent and Manhattan f-boy. Their paths collide in an unusual way and feelings are caught.
I like my romcoms with a side of depth and this book more than delivered with backstory including homelessness, abuse, and trauma. You’ll enjoy this book if you’re into that kind of baggage with the added bonus of some spice. There are also plentiful romcom references, some questionable “business” arrangements, and some angsty drama.
Big thank you to Xpresso Book Tours and NetGalley for providing an advance reader copy for me to review! I look forward to seeing more from this newer author.
I started this book and was extremely concerned that Kade was about to be a prick for the entire book. He was so cocky and acted like he was the greatest person alive but it quickly became apparent there was a reason for his actions.
Liana Dawson has a blog where she answers questions and provides love advice. Kade Jennings is a literary agent who reaches out to Liana through her Love, Liana site wanting to learn about love since he is a self-proclaimed sociopath. They realize they have a lot they can learn from each other and their competitive natures lead them to discover new parts of themselves. They both had pretty heartbreaking and challenging childhoods which brings them together in ways I feel like another person wouldn’t be able to do. They were simply perfect and once it was clear Kade wasn’t an asshole I binged this book in one sitting!
(I simply fell in love with Kade when his friend was hurt and upset and he warmed up her pajamas and slipped in the dryer to comfort her!)
Thank you @netgalley for this arc!

Liana is an love advice blogger and Kade is a bachelor looking for one night stands, not love. Allie Doherty gave us a slow burn romcom novel that builds up both characters and their attraction. Although I did enjoy the backstory of Liana's family, I wish we could have more background on the relationship between Liana and Kade. I enjoyed the banter and tension between the main characters and Allie's portrayal of underlying topics. Overall, I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to anyone who loves slow burn romcoms.
Liana is a love advice romance blogger and Kade is a bachelor who doesn't believe in love. He's just looking for sex and one night stands. One day he decides to message Liana for advice and things go from there. This book is definitely a slow burn romcom. I had no idea I didn't really care for slow burn books until I read this one. I just felt like it took me forever to get thru it. The story line was stretched so long and it seemed to take forever for them to start acknowledging feelings for each other. It also focused a lot on the lives of the side characters. The book was good overall. If you love slow burns then definitely check this one out.
