Hoping to stop the Rogues once and for all, Samira tries to confront Cordell Stuart - the scientist who made the serum - only to find him on the verge of death. Transforming Cord into a vampire may save their race, but it puts Samira into a tight spot with her faith. Will these two come together to save the vampires without destroying their own humanity?
The Blood Rogues series has been interesting. This novel presented a history of the vampire creation myth too. If you like paranormal romance, this is good place to start.
Samira is a vampire queen and must outmaneuver her brother if she is to win the war and unite the vampires. Rogue vampires are everywhere, no matter what Samira does to quash their numbers. Her brother, Antu, has escaped and is waging war. She needs help to defeat him, so she turns to the scientist, who created the drug that makes vampires go rogue, into a vampire. It’s not what she would’ve chosen but destiny has other plans. Torn between her promise to the scientist and the future of her people, she must choose. Will she give up on love, which she craves more than blood, or can she follow her destiny and achieve peace?
Destiny’s Rogue is a paranormal romance filled with gritty vampires and a queen willing to do whatever it takes, even sacrificing an all-consuming love. From start to finish, this book had me in its clutches. I’m a hard-core vampire romance reader. I like my vampires dangerous, dark, and alluring. What a refreshing storyline to have a vampire queen fall for a scientist. I connected with Samira right away. With all the turmoil and pressure she had to deal with, her fortitude and determination made her shine. Without a doubt, Antu is a character you’ll love to hate. I’ve loathed him and wanted to lock him away for all eternity. As you can tell, I got emotionally invested in Destiny’s Rogue and the characters. It all comes down to the writing. From the descriptive narration to the plot progression and the full cast of characters, Linda J. Parisi has penned an exquisite vampire romance. The world-building is second to none and the vampire lore makes for an unputdownable read. If paranormal romance is your reading jam, pick up Destiny’s Rogue. If you love gritty, intense vampire romance, Destiny’s Rogue is your next read. Highly recommend!
