My first book by this author. I was so glad i finished it. I suspected the bad guy way early on and it was a tad hard to get into, but overall it was a pretty good book. I would recommend it.

A great thriller - I would recommend it!
I enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed. It started off slowly but the. The tension built up. It is an intriguing and compelling read.
Although this was a bit obvious it was a good read. I did feel like I missed the back story a bit, like maybe this was the second in a series. There were some small characters I'd have liked to get to know better.
All in all, I did enjoy this and watching it all unfold. It's definitely read another by this author.
A good read, full of twists and suspense. Really enjoyed it and the characters. Can't wait to read more from the author.
I struggled to get into The Nurse’s Secret by Liz Lawler. I felt the story was all over the place, a little drawn out and the story was only average. Not as good as I was expecting.
You trust a nurse with your life but can you really? Wow this one really threw it out of the ball park! I had no idea what would happen next so it kept me on my toes and the ending is so twisted that you can't help but love it.
Nothing is as it seems with this book, or our main character, Nurse Sarah. Is she a killer, or was her husband murdered by someone else. Thrilling read, will read more in future. Recommended.
A good read
A well written story
A real page turner
Will have you hooked
Enjoyed reading this
Thanks NetGalley
Absolutely loved this book, a gripping psychological thriller. The twists and turns don’t stop coming and I couldn’t put it down, really enjoyable.
Multiple POVs left me feeling a little underwhelmed. It was hard to connect to Sarah or any character for that matter with the back and forth of perspective.
A little slow, not as gripping as it states, and the twists weren’t enough to redeem itself.
I enjoyed reading The Nurse’s Secret. At the very beginning of the book, we are instantly drawn in when Sarah, a nurse, can’t get hold of her husband. Shortly afterwards she learns that he has been found dead in their home.
This leads to a murder investigation with many secrets coming to light.
I had guessed who the murderer was but that did not detract from my enjoyment of the book.
It is the first book I have read by Liz Lawler and I really liked it, it was well written and I will look out for more from her.
This was a good enjoyable psychological thriller, full of twists and turns throughout that keeps you turning the pages. The characters were interesting, the story itself was exciting and the style of writing was perfect. I have read many books by this author and not one has disappointed me.. can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading this genre.
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a honest review.
there are lots of secrets in this one and they slowly unravel till the end. I loved the twist at the end it made the book for me . Look forward to reading her other books.
Sarah is a nurse and has only been married to William for a few months. They met at the hospital when she was caring for his dying first wife. Whilst at work Sarah receives a phone call saying that William has been murdered. Sarah informs the police that William had been receiving anonymous letters and phone calls lately which may have a bearing on his murder. When the investigation is launched she realises that Nick, an ex boyfriend, is leading the case. Sarah becomes the main suspect but we realise that she has a shocking past that she cannot reveal. When a young nurse is killed she realises that her life may be in danger too. I found the story a little drawn out and when the secrets were revealed I thought the ending was a bit of a letdown.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
First book by this author for me but I certainly wasn't disappointed. Although a little slow to get going, some fabulous twists and an ending I didn't see coming.
Sarah is a nurse and has recently married William, a school teacher. During her shift, police deliver the devastating news he has been found dead in their home, predicted as murder.
Whilst Sarah goes to stay with her work colleague and her husband, the senior investigating officer Josh, appears....and whilst neither divulge their past, have been in a relationship together.
William had previously been married to Mary, who had MS and died in the hospital in which Sarah works. However questions begin to arise around her death, originally thought to have been natural, but now raises queries.
A brilliant book with intertwined relationships, secrets from the past, lies in the present and s potential murderer still on the loose.
Well worth a read.
Excellent storyline, great characters, kept me hooked from the beginning! Another great read from a brilliant author
This mystery was good….parts I could figure out and some not. I felt it was a little on the slow side, and I didn’t really like Nick’s wishy washy character.
What a totally addictive read this book is!
In this book, nothing is as it seems. There are so many secrets and lies and a super twisty plot. Once you start reading it you won’t be able to put it down.
The story is told from several persons’ perspectives and each time it nudges us a little closer to the truth. It’s a complex plot, with many layers, and we get Sarah’s story, a fascinating police procedural storyline, and the stories of those who are working on the case.
I was totally caught up in this book and spent an entire evening, TV off, just finishing it as I had to find out what had happened. This is not a straightforward plot, and it’s not one that you’ll guess before time.
This book is a psychological thriller with a difference. Yes, it’s compelling, gripping and intriguing with lots of suspense, but it’s also dark and poignant with a real richness and depth to both the plot and the characters. These are characters who you will care about, whose lives you will become immersed in, and there’s an almost movie-like quality to the book. It would make an amazing TV drama.
Highly recommended for an addictive and hard to put down read that will keep you enthralled.
The Nurse's Secret - Liz Lawler
I felt this book started off slowly but built nicely throughout. I enjoyed the characters very much and especially Kathleen who was just odd. The story is told from multiple perspectives which I was entertained by. Overall a very enjoyable read, with plenty of twists and turns, and I kept changing my opinions of people throughout. I thought it was a good read but enjoyed The Next Wife by Liz Lawler so much more! Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the e-arc in return for my honest viewpoint.
