Emily and her Daughter Sophia lived alone
As they liked it like that
In the future Emily told her daughter things about her when she was younger
You will get to grips by her story
I had an ARC

Another cracking read from this author. The action starts straight away and we're left wondering about quite a few characters - should she trust them? This did not go in the way I thought it might and the ending was a belter!

The Nursery is an unputdownable, gripping psychological thriller that had me hooked from the start. Tense and with a fast paced plot that will keep you guessing, has some great twists and turns. I would do rate this book 4.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.

Thank you Net Galley and Bookouture for an ARC of this book.
Sue Watson is a great author and I have always really enjoyed her books. I really liked this one too but I must say not a favorite of mine. There are lots of twists and turns but it was a little slow getting started for me. A Mom on the run with her child and lots to worry about and different signs that someone is watching. What is really going on in this life of mother and daughter. You will have to read to find out.

The Nursery was gripping from the first chapter !
There's something about the way the author writes that makes the words flow easily, and the pages turn themselves!
A pitch perfect thriller! . . . This author is an absolute master of psychological suspense!

Yet again this author does not disappoint. This dark thriller follows a mother on the run with her baby and hiding out from her husband. We then move on 12 years to see how they have settled into their new lives just the two of them but someone is watching them and someone knows her secrets and things are about to start unraveling.

This is another great read from Sue Watson.
Emily and her teenage daughter, Sofia, live in Sidmouth in Devon and right from the beginning, you know they're hiding from something or someone. Well, Emily is but Sofia is unaware of this. We learn bits and pie es about their past life throughout the story, which builds up to the reason they're there and why Emily feels the need to stay.
When Sofia has a new online friend, Emily knows that her secret is about to resurrect itself.
I felt really tense all the way through and was not prepared for all of the twists and turns that just kept on coming! 5 stars from me.

I absolutely love this authors books and I knew once I started reading this then anything else I needed to do would have to be put to one side as this authors books are addictive and this one was certainly no exception.
I was hooked from the very first page and read it in almost one sitting This story is full of so many twists and turns and events that you won’t see coming and make you gasp out loud.
Another amazing reading from this author and already looking forward to her next book

This was my first Sue Watson book, and there were lots of twists. It was a good book but it just wasn’t for me. It definitely had more of a domestic thriller tone to it or really a domestic mystery. It dealt with family, lies and secrets. These secrets pretty much trickled out the last 30% of the book. This book was more of a slow burn. You know that something is going on and you just don’t know what it is, but I didn’t feel this compulsion to keep turning the page. It just didn’t hold my interest.

The Nursery is a great psychological thriller. It has all the ingredients you need … mystery, action, suspense and murder. Definitely a novel you should read!

Thank You to NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this gripping ARC.

I'm usually a big fan of the author but sadly I found this book to be a little average.
I think it is a personal disconnect - I didn't find the plot very interesting and therefore struggled to engage with it. Most of the reviews are stellar so I'm sure it's my tastes that are the issue and not the book itself.
Characters and locations are very well described as you would expect from a Sue Watson novel, and I liked the twist at the end.

This was an ok well written book which had an interesting storyline. A bit slow burner for me and it wasn't as thrilling as I imagined until about over half way through when the tension picked up. The characters were interesting and well developed.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Another great read by Sue Watson, this author never lets me down.
Emily, a single mum, lives with her teenage daughter Sophia. Sophia is spending a lot of time on the internet (as all teenagers do) and Emily is curious but also quite frightful as to who Sophia is communicating with. They have left there old life behind and that is where Emily wants it to stay, in the past. She takes matters into her own hands and feels a lot better, she feels she has the situation in hand. Then Emily sees more messages from this person and she is beginning to feel very uncomfortable. Things are about to get ugly.
Realistic characters and a fast paced story which will keep you turning the pages quickly, just how I like my books to be.
I have enjoyed all of Sue Watson's books and even though I found some of this a little predictable, I still very much enjoyed it. If you have not read any of her books, I do not think that you will be disappointed if you give them a try. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book, all opinions expressed are my own.

This book held my attention from the first page all the way to the last page it was unputdownable for me I just HAD to find out what would happen next!!!!! Brilliant character depth and development throughout the book!!! Excellent writing full of twists and thrills i never saw coming loved this book and I will highly recommend it!!!!
Much thanks to #netgalley and #bookoture for selecting me to read and review this ARC
I will also be posting my review in the Facebook group I created @DOMESTIC THRILLER READERS BOOK CLUB

Ugh. This book has all positive reviews. And I just did not like it. I didn't feel like it pulled me in and I just kept waiting for it to happen. About halfway through I double checked the title because I wasn't sure I was reading the correct book. I was waiting for a part about a baby or something. The title did not seem to fit.
Anyway, we start by finding out that Emily has done something bad. But we don't know exactly what it is. Fast forward and she is raising her daughter alone and is pretty secretive about her life. It is played off as if her ex-husband could be coming to get her. She sees people outside, someone breaks in, etc. She will do anything to protect her daughter. Unless it involves a cute guy she is attracted to. She will be leary of him one second and then giving him all of her information the next. Halfway through the book is when we find out the true storyline. That still doesn't have too much to do with a nursery.
None of the characters are likeable. Sofia is bratty. Emily is confusing. Nancy is awful. Cerys is nuts. One second everyone thinks a plastic cow is silly, the next it's a sign they are about to be murdered. This might just be a pet peeve of mine, but I also hate when chapters end with something foreboding. "But things were about to take a sinister turn." Next chapter.
I just didn't find the characters or relationships compelling. I guess the ending was a twist, but it was too late for me by then.
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

"The Nursery" is a gripping page turning book that is so full of twists you'll never see it coming! The characters are written expertly and not at all who you think they are.
I couldn't put the book down as I had to know what happens but I did not expect it to end the way it did! It's utterly enticing, unexpected and simply unputdownable in the best way.

This book Gets you really in. The feels and make you thinking as you're going through story. As a parent this real hits you hard and you feel the motion Emily's going through. As a parent this gives me great for you it is so hard felt and each step you feel your anxiety skin with each twist and turned it on expected. I felt like I was an Emily shoes thinking about Sophia at each moment. When a parents greatest fears realised.

After reading the book I found the beginning of the synopsis slightly misleading but that doesn't detract in any way on how good this latest novel by Sue Watson is.
In the prologue, Emily arrives in Sidmouth on a stormy night with her 3 year old daughter in her arms having escaped from her husband.
Twelve years on and Emily and Sophie have a good relationship until Emily sees a message on Sophies phone. It appears Sophie is keeping secrets from her, but then Emily can't complain as she also has secrets. Add into the mix, a friend who needs help, and Emily is pulled in all different directions, not knowing who to trust.
As with all of Sue Watsons books I couldn't put it down, and just when you think you have it all sorted in your head, she drops another bombshell. An enthralling read

“The Nursery” by Sue Watson with a number of twists and turns. There’s a lot of foreshadowing, especially at the ends of chapters. There are a number of characters with both hidden information and agendas. An interesting read, though I found it a bit slow in a few places. Good characterization of a teenager.

Emily a single mum lives happy with her teenage daughter Sophia.
When Sophia starts to become secretive and moody, Emily worries that something sinister is going on.
This is beginning of her life being turned upside down and her worst fears are about to come true.
I enjoy this book although I could see quite early on some of the twist and turns in the story.
