I was literally hooked on this book all the way through, it was fast paced, easy to read and had short chapters which I love! It was intriguing with both lovable and dislikeable characters. It was a little complicated in parts and there was lots going on but it all came together nicely at the end with a twist I didn't see coming. It was read in two sittings as I couldn't put it down! Well worth a read.

You always know you're going to get a good read when you read one of Sue Watson's books. She never disappoints, was a great read, definitely recommend!

have to be very honest and say I found this book quite slow and hard to get into. Although the second half moved a little quicker, with a big twist on the end page, this did take me some time to read.

This book followed s the story of adoption and what potentially can happen when the adopted child finds out. It looks at teenagers and the power of social media, alongside a mother's desire to monitor interactions whilst allowing a degree of privacy and hiding secrets from a past that is not as it seems.

WOW- what did I just read? This was hands down a fast paced page turner, I couldn't get through it quick enough! Sue has the knack to hook her readers very early on and this was no exception. Well done Sue.

I;m so sorry but I couldn't read this beyond the first few chapters, found the writing style too frustrating to get to grips with. I'm sure I've read this author before and enjoyed, but I couldn't get into this. Sorry!

Easy to read but sadly, this one was just too predictable for me. I picked what was going to happen very early on and while there were a few other twists I didn't see coming, it wasn't enough to elevate the book.

This missed the mark for me unfortunately. I loved the beginning and felt it was a really strong start. It went downhill pretty quickly. Luckily the last few chapter redeemed it a little. Overall it was enjoyable and I didn't see one of the final twists. Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review!

This book had me gripped. Emily and her daughter Sofia live a quiet life in a seaside town having fled from their previous life and Emily’s husband. They live in a flat thanks to the generosity of Mr and Mrs Woods who have taken then both in and given them a home for a small rental fee. Emily has job in their perfumery shop and they have been treated treating like the daughter and granddaughter they never had.

Things start to change as Sofia begins to grow up and is texting someone who she doesn’t know in the real world. When Emily feels she is being watched and followed she wonders if this is connected to her daughters new friendship or is it her own past catching up with her.

The exploration of adoption was really well written in this book. The need of adoptive children to find out who their birth family are has always fascinated me. On the other hand bringing up a child who you haven’t given birth must also be difficult especially when they want to meet their other family.

Social media and teenagers is another issue which was portrayed really well .My children grew up in an age where social media was non existent but my grandchildren are now at an age were they are always on their mobile phones and I really find it worrying. The outside influences which parents may not be able to control is definitely very relevant in this modern technological age.

If you want to be surprised, gripped and on the edge of your seat then this is the book for you. Sue Watson is magnificent at crafting realistic characters who the reader can connect to and I loved how I was invested in the lives of Emily and Sofia. What a great story with a jaw dropping ending, definitely not what I expected.

The book starts off in a filthy nursery with a baby girl who’s being neglected by her own mother.

Now, Emily found baby Sofia walking the streets, after Sofia was taking into care, Emily adopted her and they went to a small coastal town. Sofia grew up and started lying to her mother. Emily was worried her past would catch up with her.

Suspend, edge of your seat stuff, loved it all. It’s fast paced and an easy page turner. Sue writes thrillers well and looking forward to her next one.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy for an honest review.

There are so many twists and O-m-g moments in this book! It really grabbed my attention. Especially that very last twist…whaaaaat! Wasn’t expecting that near the end! Great book!

* The cover and title I would think might have been better off with a different choice. The cover and title really doesn’t make any sense until the last 10% of the book just about.

Thanks to #NetGalley and the Publishers for an #ARC of #TheNursery. I keep returning to books written by Sue Watson and with good reason, she has the recipe for success in her writing.
Just when you think you know what will happen, another secret is thrown into the mix. Excellent book.

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I think its best not to trust any of the characters in this book, The story is very emotive and addictive. Intriguing till the end. A recommended read.

Thinking that whomever wrote the synopsis didn't read the book...

Em ran away with her toddler, Sofia, when her husband suggested her to give 'her family' up whatever that meant. Now, 16 years later, Em is convinced that someone from her past is stalking her and trying to take Sofia away from her.

What are my problem with this?
- No high stake (for me)
- Up to >50% mark, nothing really happened unless you count the revelation as to why Em's husband suggested it (kinda)
- It was awfully too drama, and not the good kind
- The final revelation came out of nowhere??? Although it was foreshadowed and I kinda see it happening, it felt forced to me
- The twist just left me 'meh'

I quite like Watson's previous titles, so this one came as a surprise :(

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of The Nursery by Sue Watson in return for my honest review.

Well, I’m not sure how to start this review so first I’ll say it was fabulous! It was so gripping, edge of your seat thrills and plenty of pace throughout.

I’ve become a big fan of Sue Watson’s books and with every one she keeps topping the previous.

My most favourite thing about her writing is her characterisation. She is a master at creating her characters ensuring they have distinct personalities and traits which makes them feel real. You become invested in their story and have the pull of both wanting and needing to know how their dilemma will turn out.

The storyline in this one though was really gripping. I love a book which has an intertwining story with both points of view from various characters. Top this with mysterious characters making a families life hell and lots of intrigue you have this wonderful tightly written thriller you just can’t put down.

I loved this one and think it might have just topped my favourite of her novels.

I'm a big fan of Sue Watson but this was not my favorite of hers. I had a hard time getting into it so it took me a while to read. It was still pretty good.

Emily and her daughter Sofia are living a quiet life after fleeing an abuser years ago. They were taken in by church people and Emily was given a job and a nice little place to rent. They're happy.

But Emily senses that something isn't right. She feels like she's being watched and one night, someone broke into the flat and left an ominous note behind.

What's going on?! Did her ex finally find her? Will they be able to continue their simple life?

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review!

It’s so true what they say, it’s always who you least expect! Never more true in this gripping thriller! This thriller twists and turns so many different ways it’s dizzying, you think you know who it is, and you’re always proved wrong! I actually gasped out loud at the ending!

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Nursery’ by Sue Watson in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Emily and three-year-old Sofia arrived in Sidmouth twelve years ago from Manchester to escape her husband and thanks to Mr and Mrs Woods they’ve lived ever since in a flat with a peppercorn rent with Emily working in the perfumery shop owned by Mr Woods. Now aged fifteen, Sofia has started messaging a stranger and when Emily reads the messages she’s fearful for her daughter’s safety and realises it’s time to tell her the truth, that she’s adopted.

‘The Nursery’ is one of those novels where the excitement slowly creeps up on you so much so that I’ve been unable to put my Kindle down. It doesn’t have a huge amount of suspense, just enough to keep me reading, believing Emily’s story to be the truth until further events put it in doubt. This novel has just the right amount of drama ending with a totally unexpected twist that makes it a thoroughly enjoyable read and one that I can happily recommend.

Another excellent book by Sue Watson. As a huge fan of Watson’s work I was excited to get a copy of this book and was not disappointed. Fast paced and suspenseful, this book was impossible to put down. Emily has many secrets from her daughter Sofia, but only because she wants to keep her safe. But as Sofia gets older and starts acting out and talking to strangers online her safety is in jeopardy. With many twists that will keep you guessing until the end, this book is not to be missed.
