Wow this book is a treat, and the perfect Christmas read the quality street wrappers on the duvet was a perfect line. A very cute Christmas story that warms you up and a super quick read, I could not stop reading.
Sophie Ranalds book are exceptional her characters are always relatable with rea life problems you never need to stretch your imagination to become enthralled in her stories.
Sophie Randal get A+ for the hilarious inner speech, Rowans self talk was so good. I actually said a lot myself when reading so I was laughing that my response would be the same.
I pure joy to read and a totally unmissable Christmas books, one of my now compulsory reads every Christmas
I wanted to love this book. I really did. It had a description that was right up my alley. I just couldn't finish it. It felt like it dragged on and it just took forever to get to any excitement or action in the plot. It wasn't for me but if you enjoy books that are slow reads that really go into details, you may enjoy this.
3.5 stars!
Rowan's friends decide they will cheer her up this Christmas with a gift-a-day advent calendar, and Alex is the delivery driver who brings these gifts every day.
This story was so unique! It was such an interesting and captivating read, I'm so happy I requested this on Netgalley. Sophie Ranald's writing has such a sense of familiarity and you can just dive straight back into her world of characters.
A great festive read, I highly recommend it!
Rowan is a single mom struggling to get by at Christmas time.
Her friends decide to make her happy and send her an advent calendar counting down to Christmas.
Each day is something special and even more so comes the delivery guy.
Can she figure out her life and find true love in 25 days?
Heartwarming will-they-won’t-they rom com, perfect to get you in the Christmas mood.
Take one single mum, some fabulous (and generous!) friends, an annoying ex and a very hot delivery guy, and stir up to produce the perfect Christmas cocktail!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This book was STUNNING! I loved Rowen and Alex so much as characters. The slight humor that was sprinkled throughout the story was delightful. I loved Rowen's relationship with her daughter and her group of friends so much. overall this was such a sweet holiday romance story complete with the perfect amount of slow burn romance, friendship group, family aspects, and Christmas spirit.
I enjoyed this book so much especially since it's the holiday season!
It was such a cute, hilarious, and romantic book that was swoon worthy!
I enjoyed how Alex and Rowan don't have the typical meet cute but more so a realistic meeting. If i wasnt married already I'd be waiting to meet my future man via delivery.
My thoughts:
Likes- This was a very fun and festive story. I loved the friendship between Rowan and her best friends. They were doing everything to make Rowan feel her best self. It was soo nice to see. Also the delivery of all the gifts was very exciting to read about. I did enjoy the mother daughter relationship too.
🎁
Dislikes - For me the story fell a little flat. I struggled to get through this book. I also struggled to feel any connection between Alex and Rowan. He was just the handsome delivery guy and nothing more. I just couldn't imagine they being together. And I also think that the story was too long. It felt like you read the same thing over and over again.
Rowan is having a midlife crisis. Her teenage daughter is moody, and her ex-husband who she was casually seeing secretively has announced his engagement to his younger fiancée. Down on her luck, Rowan's friends organized an advent calendar of sorts: a gift delivered every day of December until Christmas. Turns out, the biggest delivery was the delivery driver himself.

Okay, this book was WAY TOO LONG. It's a Christmas love story. Let's cut to the love and jolly spirit.
Rowan is fine, if not a bit of a complainer, and Alex seems like a nice enough guy. Problem is that they interact for like two minutes a day and then go about their lives. Just wasn't enough tension for me to buy into this slow burn.
This was my first read by this author so I had no idea what to expect and I found myself really enjoy this fun, quirky, very slow burn Christmas read. Found myself relating to Rowan quite a bit, not only because of the joys of raising a teenager, but we have all had those times in our lives where we needed to remember how to love ourselves and how to be strong and confident. I loved how Rown in fact figures it out with a little help from her best friends the advance calendar which I absolutely loved! All in all it was a very heartfelt book and I really recommend it!
This is my first novel from Sophie Ranald however it’s definitely not my first Christmassy novel this year! I decided to download this one on audiobook to listen to on my way to and from work.
The story follows Rowan and her daughter on the lead up to Christmas. Rowan is a hard working single mother with a rather complicated with her ex and a busy schedule at work trying to make ends meet. Rowan’s friends decide to do something for her to cheer her up which just happens to need delivered every day by the handsome delivery man Alex.
Rowan and Alex tell the story from a dual
perspective although Jessica Preddy narrates both parts throughout. They’re more to Alex than meets his delivery driver persona.
I really liked the idea of this one and thought it was quite unique. Advent calendars are very in and I loved the alternative spin on it that Rowan’s friends came up with. Rowan has a very varied past experience and I loved that her job took her to prestigious properties and when she stood up for what was right she was listened to.
This was a great pre-Christmas read and I’ll definitely be looking for more from this author.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of "Santa Please Bring Me a Boyfriend" written by Sophie Ranald.
Overall, I rated this novel 4/5 stars!
This novel tells the story of Rowan and Alex. One of her friends sends her an advent calendar type of set of presents, so that she will be opening one per day until Christmas. Alex is responsible for delivering each of these packages to her.
This was a very humorous holiday-themed read that kept me engaged the whole time that I was reading!
Santa. Please Bring Me a Boyfriend is a really cute, heartwarming and loving holiday romance. I loved Rowan and Alex so much, they are sweet and nice and deserve all the happy endings. There was a lot going on in this story from baggage with ex's to potential corporate espionage which kept my interest throughout. I do wish we could learn more about Alex and get more of his backstory since there seems to be a lot there. I have an almost teenager so I could relate to Rowan and her relationship to Clara a little bit too. Recommended.
I’m really sorry but I did not like this book at all. The description was so promising, but the book sadly couldn’t deliver. It dragged on and I found there to be a lot of unnecessary filler. I also didn’t feel emotional involved in the love story since they didn’t really interact a lot for most of the book. The storyline wasn’t super consistent either and parts were written to generate some suspense but I found myself to just be annoyed by them. I tried to give it a chance and finish it in hopes of a great ending but even that fell a bit flat in my opinion.
I loved this sweet Christmas book! It was so cute, but the last chapter was so different from the rest of the book. It really threw me off! Why was all of the spice saved for the end?! Lol. I liked Rowan’s character, she was a great Mom. I loved this unexpected romance, it was perfect for the holiday season.
This book was okay but the only thing that really got me through the book was wanting to know what was in the advent calendar each day.
I felt like the writing and structure could have been clearer. I actually didn't mind Rowan being 1st POV and Alex being 3rd POV but it was definitively a different style than what I'm used to reading.
I wish we had seen Rowan stop being such a push over and actual discipline her daughter. Her ex was just a trash human being. Her daughter is annoying. There is no chemistry between the two main characters and honestly I had little interest in there romance as it was non existent. Alex was okay but why did they make him so mysterious. If the writer wanted him to be mysterious then they shouldn't have written his POV.
Learning to love yourself and believing in your own strength and beauty is a tough concept for many. Rowen’s growth in this lighthearted holiday romance focuses on HER road to overcome this obstacle with the delight of an advent calendar that keeps the plot engaging and exciting - you eagerly await what the next day’s gift will bring as if it were you opening it! The added bonus of Alex is the touch of romance that won’t distract from the main post of this story. A fun, cute and cozy read just perfect for the holidays!
A strong dnf. It just wasn't for me and I made a decision last year that there are too many books out there to read to make myself read a book I don't enjoy. There is nothing wrong with the book and I recommend you give it a try but it just wasn't a moment for me.
3.5 ⭐ bumped up to a 4⭐
This was a cute book with a very slow burn romance
A very cute story about FMC Rowan who is a single mum of a teenage girl and is trying to figure out what her life is going to look like now that her ex has officially moved on.
Enter her group of best friends who show her that she's amazing and loved by sending her daily gifts delivered by a Scottish hottie.
This story was cute, funny, empowering, and deal with real situations of raising a kid, feeling alone, watching an ex move on and feeling conflicted, and working to get your mojo back!
The romance was sloooooow but well done and cute.
A delightful and quick read to get you in the Christmas spirit.
-Mild OW/OM drama but nothing wild
This was a decent christmassy read. Rowan a single mum with a 14 year old daughter has a long list for santa this year. She's just found out her on again off again ex is getting married. She's working a job she doesn't really like and her self esteem is at its lowest. Her friends decide she needs to appreciate herself and arrange an advent calendar for her with a different gift being delivered each day. Soon it's not only the gift Rowans anticipating each day its also seeing the handsome Scottish delivery driver Alex. Will Rowan have the confidence to ask for what she wants this Christmas?
I loved the friendship in this book Rowans friends were amazing doing so much for her to make her feel her best self. Rowans ex was a terrible man with Rowan have to scrimp and save and live cheap and he gets to live in a mansion and plan a big massive wedding he cuts off his daughters allowance and doesn't bother to help Rowan. Rowan was a bit of an irritating mc I get her life wasn't great but a lot of the time she just moaned and moaned and it doesn't make a great book.
The romance was quite good though I wish there was more romantic moments in this. Also I kept forgetting this was set at Christmas time as there wasn't enough Christmassy elements for me.
Nevertheless I will read more by Sophie Ranald as she has a very good writing style keeping you gripped and entertained.
