Get ready for some hysterical scenes that - even though there’s murder and everything going on - make you both laugh and gasp. I mean, gasp, there’s some intense plottwists in here as well. Kitty Collins is something!

A very nice, intense story that I had such a hard time putting down. Chapters so short, you’ll be able to fly through them and characters so likeable, powerful and interesting, you’re going to want to know more. A real recommendation, what a book! This one will be on my mind for a while, for sure.

Be sure to check the TW’s, as there’s some heavy topics described in this book. Look them up before reading to make sure you’re safe.

How to Kill Men & Get Away with it had a strong premise, but it didn't deliver for me. The protagonist has a stalker and that part of the plot is later abandoned.

HOLY TOLEDO! This was so dang good! I loved every second of this. The juxtaposition of Kitty's life and her killing someone creates a great adverse look at what you look like you stand for and what you actually stand for! I thought this was funny, creative, light, yet incredibly dark and heavy at times. But, this is one of my favorite thrillers/suspenseful novels I've read all year!

Kitty is such an interesting character and her life seems perfect from the outside, but her actual personality is so much more complex. I don't want to spoil the whole book. But, there's more than meets the eye to Kitty and I loved that. I loved the whole story, the scenery, the prose and the plot. It was well thought out, it was fun, it was gritty and I really enjoyed it! I highly recommend checking this one out!

I really wanted to love this one! Great premise and I love the title. It just felt a bit - unpolished.

Kitty Collins is an Instagram influencer (which right there is a turn off for me) and heiress to a meat company. She’s also a vegan serial killer. Yeah, I know, but we are suspending reality here, okay?

All of her friends (introduced with the number of Insta followers each has) are vapid “influencer” socialites and none of them are likable. They have too much money, do too many drugs, and drink too much and have eating disorders. That’s the extent of their personalities.

Kitty starts her killing spree by accident, and then continues it on accident before deciding to do it on purpose. She supposedly sticks to a “code” à la Dexter, but it’s never really detailed how much effort she puts into proving the guilt of the men she’s murdering. I guess we just have to take her word for it? It is also occasionally mentioned that she has a stalker, but Kitty wasn’t concerned, so neither was I.

As she amasses a respectable body count, we learn things about her past, none of which are incredibly surprising and she falls in love with a cliché. At the end she finds out who her stalker was, which wasn’t all that surprising either.

All in all, it was entertaining but predictable. It had a great premise that wasn’t executed all too well.

The lead character appears to enjoy her murders, mostly because she believes she’s justified in ending life that doesn’t deserve to live on earth, but what if she makes a mistake?
This book is so well written that the murderer will receive plenty of empathy from the reader. After all, she’s doing the world a favour.
Kitty’s lifestyle is that of an influencer, a lifestyle despised by many or most who live in our current style of world. Her life is on the internet, which provides it’s own trolls and haters and she’s developed one very specific stalker who appears to know just a little too much about where Kitty Collins lives. This has the potential of going downhill rapidly, but then Kitty and her friends appear to have endless streams of money so they can live their best lives whatever else is happening around them. They're 'it girls' in the making.
His story is sometimes funny, sometimes bleak, but always engaging. The writer Katy Brent always appears to ask the reader what you would do in these circumstances.
While receiving a free copy of this book my review is the same as if I’d paid full price. It was a nice and quick read. The pages turned themselves. I’d read more from this writer, although I’m not sure if Kitty Collins can keep up this murder rate. Being part of a family that owns an abattoir might give you a clue as to where some bodies disappear.

A few moments made me laugh, and the gory details had me hooked.

I really enjoyed following Kitty’s story, from her rules, to the detailed kills and the different lies she told. I did also enjoy watching her relationship blossom, so it was nice to see two different sides of the character.

I didn’t guess her stalker and it was quite a shock to me, which is always good. I love a book that keeps me on my toes and had me guessing throughout. This is definitely an author I’ll be keeping an eye on for future books.

Kitty is a 30 something influencer living in Chelsea, London. She's all about followers and plugging products and holidays on her Instagram. But between expensive lunches and nights out with her friends, Kitty is hiding some dark secrets. One evening whilst walking home from a night out a guy she was chatting to at a club decided to follow her, and unfortunately for him he ended up dead on with a broken bottle through his neck, something dark has stirred with her. Men shouldn't get away with behaving so appallingly towards women, and they will no longer get away with it as far as Kitty is concerned! She is out for revenge and in the process becomes addicted to murder.

I really enjoyed this book! It was devilishly dark, twisty and funny at the same time, I had no idea what was going to happen next and if Kitty was going to get away with murder! The basis for the story was brilliant, I felt it was executed perfectly with just the right amount of twists along the way! I didn't see that ending coming at all!

Whoa. This book was INTENSE! I loved every second of it. How to Kill Men and Get Away with It is about a social media influencer who kills very bad men in her spare time. It was giving very much Dexter vibes. It had a couple of great twists and one that was like a gut punch! If you want something a little gory but fun for spooky season, this is a good one!

As someone who loves a cozy mystery I knew when I saw this book on Netgalley I had to request it and I was so excited to get an ARC. And I will say, after reading this book, if you are expecting something like Finlay Donovan - know that this book is a darker then that series.

While the book was engaging and the storyline enjoyable, where this book felt a little short for me was the characters (I didn't really love anyone) + while I know these cozy mysteries aren't exactly realistic... this one was maybe a little bit too unrealistic. However, will these things stop me from reading a second book (that I feel like has to be coming after that ending)? Nope!

Kitty Collins is an influencer with millions of Instagram followers, and she is absolutely fed up with how men are treating women these days. They won't take no for an answer and Kitty is determined to stop them. When a man follows her home after a night out and proceeds to attack her when she won't give him what he wants, Kitty fights back which results in him tripping and falling onto a broken wine bottle. She gets rid of the body and continues her walk home.
As time goes on, Kitty discovers more and more men with the same disgusting behaviour, and she makes sure they will never hurt anyone again.

This was a super quick and enthralling read! I finished the second half of the book in just a couple of hours, which doesn't happen a lot. Although some parts may have been predictable, I still enjoyed seeing the scenes and plot twists play out and Kitty dealing with the consequences. She becomes a sort of a "for good" serial killer, and I was getting Gone Girl vibes from the murder scenes which I really enjoyed because you don't read about a psycho like Amy Dunne very often. And that cliffhanger ending makes me think there might be a sequel on the way, which I would definitely be the first in line for!

I devoured this book in a few days and fell in love with the style of Katy Brent's writing and the short snappy chapters. I enjoyed the idea of the storyline and of a strong female character seeking revenge but at times it was frustrating how hard it was to relate with Kitty and the situations she got herself into (and easily out of!). However by the end of the book I felt like I knew the characters and was left wanting to more!

Kitty Collins is a rich influencer with over a million followers on Instagram. Her days are full of charity events, product promotions, meeting with fans and her nights are full of partying with her friends...well, that and finding time for her side gig as a serial killer but she only targets a**hole men who abuse women. Good thing that, although she is a vegan, she is also the heiress to a huge meat packing business which gives her great access to a convenient way to deal with all those cumbersome dead bodies.

How to Kill Men and Get Away with It by Katy Brent is a fast easy read and I finished in a couple of days but I’m still not completely sure how I feel about it. When I saw it offered on Netgalley, it was the title and cover art that drew me to it. I expected, or at least hoped for,a cheeky fun story on the lines of Finlay Donovan. What I got was more like American Psycho. And while we’re talking about psycho, this book really should have trigger warnings for rape, physical and sexual assault, drug and alcohol abuse, and copious amounts of gore.

Don’t get me wrong - I didn’t hate the book. It had some funny moments and I certainly can relate to the realities of the danger too many women face on a daily and nightly basis. However, I felt this was handled so sensationally that it trivialized the issue. It felt like, for Kitty, that it was just an excuse for killing men sort of like Dexter but with more expensive clothes (okay, I’ve gotta admit the references to what shoes she wore at each murder scene was pretty funny).

But, if I’m being fair, it I think part of my problem with the book is an age thing. I have no interest in or even fully understand the point of influencers and I hate the whole culture of reality stars. I didn’t get the behaviour of Kitty and her friends. They all seemed like over-privileged rich women with major daddy issues who were permanently stuck in adolescence.

Still, judging from the number of four and five star reviews, I am in the minority here so I make no recommendation other than suggesting that readers be aware of the amount of abuse aimed towards women throughout this novel.

Kitty is fed up with men trying to pick her up when she goes out socialising with her friends, these men won’t take no for an answer and expect her to let them take advantage of her. It’s time to fight back.
She is attacked one night by a man who follows her home, she pushes him away and accidentally kills him in self defence. This incident gives her the courage to do something about the men who target defenceless women.
I enjoyed this book even though some of the situations were truly shocking.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. I didn’t find it funny, I didn’t like the gore and I must be getting old as I found the language quite offensive especially the use of the ‘c’ word, (and I’m not referring to cancer) which was quite unnecessary.
On the positive side it was very well written and did highlight many current issues faced by single women today.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book, a young beautiful influencer who appears in a reality tv show like 'Made in Chelsea' who seems to have it all but she hides a murderous blood lust.

The novel is told from the perspective of the main character Kitty Collins and I really enjoyed having an insight into her mind and how easily she justifies taking lives. She kills men is a number of ways that are quite ghastly especially the ease in which she does it. Kitty can be very quick witted and acerbic in her thoughts but to others she seems a sweet caring woman but cross her at your peril. You can't help but like Kitty and want to join her on her journey and find out why she feels motivated to do these terrible things.

This is a quick read that can shock and delight in equal measure. I really enjoyed reading this novel and found the style of writing really fresh and fun.

If the title alone did not make you grab this book the content certainly will! What a fast pace fun read. I was sucked in right from the very beginning.

Talk about don't judge a book by its cover, I love the cover and title but I came into it thinking this might be just a fun/silly read like Finlay Donovan but I couldn't have been more wrong! Inspired by the #metoo movement, we finally get a female version of Dexter!

It's been awhile since I had so much with a book! I'm not sure what surprised me more — that I read the whole thing in one night until 5am or that this murder-comedy freaking made me cry thanks to a particularly touching scene.

The short chapters were super bingeable and protagonist Kitty made it all the more addictive. I adore her! She's so badass but still has a touch of vulnerability that I could relate to. Her wit, humour and voice radiate through the pages.

I also love how the story doesn't take itself too seriously but yet makes critical and astute observations about rape culture, misogyny and sexual violence. It's hilarious, it's shrewd, the action is over-the-top and I relished every moment.

I have to admit there were times it all felt a bit too much (Ruben!!?) and the climax felt mildly problematic + unaligned with the rest of the book. Yet my enjoyment level was seriously off the charts so a solid 4 stars it is!

Compulsive, thrilling and delightfully wicked, this is one book that you'll tear through!

So I have mixed feelings about this book. It was both funny and weird enough for me to look forward to reading it on my daily commute, but there was something that stopped me from immersing myself completely into the story.

First, it's surprisingly gory. Katy Brent does not skip out on the details which, for this book, actually is beneficial to the story. It creates a stark contrast between a 'dimwit Instagram influencer' and a very calculated lady behind all of that. Well.... calculated in her methods but not in her actual execution (pun intended). All of her kills at the start were 'accidental' even though she did intend to kill them.

I think it's hard to connect to Kitty because she comes from such a lavish life. She has access to resources to help her get away with it but I would love to see more struggle and tension with the "will she or won't she get away with it". It seemed almost too easy.

The most harrowing part of the book was obviously the fact that a lot of women can relate to situations throughout the story. I always have my keys in my hand when I walk home at night and have t0 text my friends the taxi reg plate and when I'm home to ensure safety. It's not a life we ladies should be living but this is how we have adapted and it was fun seeing someone fight back and take revenge (even if it was fictional).

I also felt that the time skips were a bit disjointing. The leaps in time (even if it was 3 minutes later) made me feel like I was hopping all over the place and I couldn't settle in to the scene.

Lastly, the stalker reveal was entirely predictable. I feel like if it turned out the stalker was there with a wire for the police to turn Kitty in...that would have been a better twist. Also it took me until the end of the book to realise why Kitty was vegan...and its not because of the animals.

So yeah, good idea but it could be polished up a bit more

Really loved this story and all the twists it threw up some of which I didn't see coming!! Well worth a read.

this was a fun and breezy read, definitely a good palate cleanser and i enjoyed reading it concurrently with my physical reads.

a lot happened and it was pretty fast-paced. i do think it could have done without the romance element, but it didn't necessarily hurt the overall story. it did feel like this book sometimes didn't entirely know what it wanted to be and the ending felt a bit abrupt to me. there's a lot that happens where you have to suspend your disbelief, so just be ready for that.

the plot in itself is quite a fun idea, i just wish the main character and her motives were more fleshed out.

to sum up; a fun read but it just personally lacked some structure for me!
