I’m quite picky with thrillers and this one definitely hit the mark for me. Very suspenseful and twisty that had me engaged and sucked in from the beginning.

The Maid's Diary was a quick and entertaining and twisty thriller that I finished in one day. That said, it also didn't blow me away. So I recommend if you're in the mood for a fast read that doesn't require you to think too hard. Also keep in mind that it's a bit of a slow-burn as it takes a while to get the perspectives and timelines straightened out.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montake for providing me an eARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.

What a brilliant read! Fast paced with a great storyline. It had me hooked from the first page and had all the ingredients of a great thriller. Will definitely be looking at other titles by this author.

A highly recommended read.

DNF, this book wasn’t for me. I just couldn’t connect with or root for the characters as this book started with the characters flawed personalities, kind of wish I had had a chance to see their “good” side first. Oh well, I’m sure this book will appeal to others.

Lots of suspense and it's a pretty fast paced read. The characters are complex and some are plain unlikeable but that adds to the plot. Good twists and it's definitely a page turner.

The Maid's Diary is a gripping psychological thriller by Loreth Anne White, the author of The Patient's Secret. It follows the fate of Kit Darling, a maid who has a habit of snooping into the lives of her wealthy clients. When she witnesses something shocking in the home of the Rittenbergs, a married couple expecting their first child, she becomes entangled in a web of secrets, lies, and murder.

White does a great job of creating suspense and tension with her fast-paced writing and vivid descriptions. The characters are complex and flawed, each with their own motives and agendas. You will feel sympathy for Kit, who is an outsider in both her job and her personal life, but also fear for her safety as she gets closer to the truth.

The Maid's Diary is a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. It is a thrilling read that explores the dark side of human nature and the consequences of curiosity. If you are looking for a book that will make you think and keep you guessing, this is one to check out..

I cannot believe I never gave feedback for The Maid's Diary by Loreth Anne White. This book BLEW ME AWAY so much so that I reached out to the author on social media to praise her. Apparently, I missed the mark and never got to submit my feedback here so please allow me to correct that!

I received a copy of The Maid's Diary by Loreth Anne White as an #ARC from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I am SO HAPPY that I got this opportunity. White is one of my favorite authors and I have quickly consumed almost every title she's written.

The Maid's Diary blows them all away. I found myself guessing page after page as to what happened and why, and I was surprised when the ending was revealed. White masterfully weaves suspense and mystery together and does not get complacent with her tropes. I've never been so thrilled to be so wrong about my assumptions before!

I have so many highlights and annotations throughout the book that it's hard to pick a few to highlight here. There is one point where Kit Darling is journaling and says "Write things you'll never let anyone read. Then for every insight, ask yourself why. Why do you think this? What are the stakes of losing that illusion? Ask why, write why, until you want to scream." I loved this as a means to set up this character for being more in-depth than "the maid." To go further than surface level and really get to know her. It also made me super curious as the reader to know what kinds of things she'd write that she never wanted anyone to read. I WANT TO READ THAT ! haha

Another point in the book says "People hustling and bustling to work on this Thursday morning, oblivious to the fact that in the blink of an eye they, too, will be sitting in a chair, waiting to die. Unless something violent and sudden snatches them away first." Having recently lost somebody very important to me in a very unexpected and tragic manner... this really struck home to me as one of those private thoughts that many are blissfully unaware of and of how very fragile we actually are.

I genuinely have so many highlights from this title and it is one I will continue to read over and over again. It is so good. I absolutely recommend you pick up a copy of it, if you have not yet already done so. Loreth Ann White is a literature goddess. I will continue to devour everything she puts out. Read her works, TRUST ME.

I apologize for the delayed posting of this review. I apologize to every reader who would've found her sooner if I had only posted sooner. Waste no more time, and go find her now. Do it. Do it now. #TheMaidsDiary #NetGalley #ARC

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my gifted eARC.

Holy cow, this one kept me on my toes the whole time. Kit Darling, the maid has a shopping problem and she can not stop going through her clients stuff. It already sounds amazing, right? This one is told through multiple POV's and it is layered perfectly! I definitely recommend this one!

This novels was so good it had so much action and the book was a page turner. Kit Darling is a maid with a snooping problem. She likes to poke and uncover things that she should not know about. The lady next door to the glass house loves to look out and call the cops for anything she sees. All of the people in this book realize they can’t escape the past. Definitely a good thrilling read.

The Maid’s Diary is a twisty tale of murder, deceit, and not telling the whole truth. It bounces between different times and points of view to piece the story together one chapter at a time. I enjoyed this book, but felt it did jump around a little bit too much and left off with a slightly unsatisfying ending.

Hm. This wasn't a bad thriller, but I honestly expected more from it. Maybe because The Maid's Diary was too hyped up for me. Maybe because I’m not a fan of revenge stories.

I didn't expect certain aspects at all. Some things that happened were a bit too much for me and they lowered my enjoyment. I had to think for quite a while how I want to rate this book because of them.

The story was also repetitive and it took me a surprisingly long time to get into it.

But ultimately - this book was somewhat unique and had many exciting parts. Also, one or two things I didn’t see coming. Even though this book didn’t end up anywhere near the list of my favorite thrillers, I kind of see why most people liked it.

A huge thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of The Maid's Diary Loreth Anne White in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks for my DRC #netgalley and #montlake!

Well #lorethannewhite has done it again. I think she has to be the most underrated thriller writer on bookstagram. I can easily compare her to Ruth Ware, Alice Feeney and Jennifer Hillier for her brilliant storytelling and shocking twists, yet I don’t see the same hype around her.

This book was an absolute winner for me. I had no idea where it was going until everything fell into place towards the end.

Kit is a maid who likes to snoop around other people's homes. As we soon discover, her therapist thinks it is a good idea to keep a diary to help her overcome some big trauma from her past. Through these diary entries that are interspersed throughout the book, we learn how horrific the trauma she has suffered truly was.

During her daily routines in one of the new homes assigned to her, she sees a picture of the couple living there and her whole world changes.

I don't want to reveal more, because the book is constructed of layers, and it was so captivating to peel them back as you go along. Like an illusionist the author tricks us into thinking we know the answers, but with each chapter we learn something new and the twists and turns are just out of this world.

Masterfully written with a clever plot line and brilliant characterization the ending had me punching my fist in the air with satisfaction.

I almost gave up on this book because in the beginning I found it a little slow and hard to keep track of who was who. Before putting it down, I decided to try one more time since I've heard everyone absolutely raving about this book. I am SO GLAD I kept going. Once the story got going I could not fly through the pages fast enough. It was dark, twisted and heart wrenching. Brilliantly done! Truly sad that it is over.
