I’ve been in a reading slump lately and I just couldn’t get into this story. Nothing against the writer or her writing.
I wanted to love this book because it was a Robin Hood retelling. However, this story was mostly flat. There was very little time to establish the characters. Her band of brothers were almost nonexistent. The villian was very stereotypical with mo depth. The love interests were very unlikable and had no respect for her. Thus, I wanted her to leave both of them in the dust. Overall, this novel had potential. However, it was not executed well. Nevertheless, I recommend this for fans of Sara B. Larson, Melanie Dickerson, and Jennifer Anne Davis!
I really enjoyed this read so much! I can't recommend it enough it was absolutely amazing and I was hooked from the first page.
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't something I'd usually pick up however I'd definitely recommend it.
The Reclaimed Kingdom is a retelling of Robin Hood with the twist of “Robin Hood” being a girl, and not just any girl; Dru the princess of D’Land.
Dru leaves her kingdom and joins The Band of Brothers in hope to reclaim the Kingdom. But little does the band of brothers know that Dru is the princess or even a girl as Dru poses as a boy.
This story went straight into mischievous action and stayed that way right up until the very end of the story with some epic battle scenes.
And of course it couldn’t be Robin Hood, with a bit of romance, but this one comes with a twist, yes a love triangle with Hawkin and Prince Edward aka Dodge.
This was one of those stories where I couldn’t decide which love interest Dru should pick because I loved both Dodge and Hawkin. It was sad coming to the end when Dru decided to pick one.
💕“I will fight a hundred Leeches, face a thousand deaths for you. I am your Sentinel. But I could be more.”💕
💕“Your heart has the power to heal a kingdom, for you love so fiercely.”💕
I love the magic and the syphons in this story. I think it added a modern twist to the original story of Robin Hood.
I look forward to reading what happens next in the story.

Actual review closer to 3.5 stars. The beginning was kind of slow for me, making it hard to get into. The pace did eventually pick up and I enjoyed the second half. Not sure the love triangle was necessary for this story? I don't feel it really added anything. I'll still read the next one though.. I'm curious where it'll go!
The perfect Robin Hood retelling with a feisty female at the front of it. I think this was done wonderfully and it had me wanting to keep reading even when I was half asleep. I highly recommend this magical fantasy book!
The Reclaimed Kingdom is a great read for anyone who enjoys fantasy worlds with a strong female character.
The beginning of the story does take some time to get into but once you get past that initial slow bit the story really picks up. I enjoyed the characters and all their growth; you can see where they make mistakes but learn from them. Having the characters stumble and learn makes they relatable. I loved the Robinhood retelling parts.

The Reclaimed Kingdom was a very entertaining book to read. The writing was well done. It took a chaper or so to get into the flow of what was going on, but once it got going it was so much fun to read. The magic system was something I have not read before, Syphon and Leeches, and it was fun to learn about.
This book is for anyone who likes fun fantasy worlds and strong female characters who will do anything to save those they love.
This book was very enjoyable, the line between good and evil felt a little grey which was perfect for a robin hood retelling, but the queen was pure evil! I thought Andrua was a very good strong female lead, she carried the story well and wasn't afraid of getting dirty to save her kingdom after all she went through, it was also good when she realised the privilege she grew up in and reality. The connections between the characters were so well done if magical or not, and the love triangle that arose from that was exciting. All the twists kept me on the edge of my seat wondering if the fight would ever end for good.
The synopsis of this book was so promising! It was giving Robin Hood, Princess-in-disguise, and a love triangle (which I enjoy far more than I let on 🤣) Howeverrrrrr, I simply could not get into this and I’m so disappointed. The pacing was strange & I feel like a whole load of things needed refining and developing. I feel relatively neutral towards all the characters, I liked them but I don’t find them remarkable or memorable. The cover is originally what drew me in & I do still think it’s really lovely, though overall I found it difficult to connect with its content.

*Clears throat* Mirror Mirror, Snow White and the Huntsman, meets Robin Hood!!
I was not prepared for how good this book was going to be. It started a bit slow and around the 40% mark I couldn’t put it down—only when I had to leave to work— the vibes I got from this book were from the movie Mirror Mirror when Snow (different name idk?) escaped the palace and starts stealing money from the queen and once further in the book I got more of kristen Stewart’s movie. This story does contain a sort of love triangle which reminded me a lot from the Huntsman’s movie.
Character wise I think Andrua (Dru) did learn from her mistakes and she learns to control her powers more. Dodge was my favorite he reminded me so much of Sam Claflin’s character in Huntsman I liked that he wasn’t a useless prince and helped out whenever he could. The ending made it open for sequels to continue and I think it’ll be fun see how all the main characters continue forward after the new revelations.

Wow! This is such a surprise rating for me! 5 stars! Ever since the beginning of the book it was so well put together! It’s the first fantasy kingdom book I ever read and boyyyy it was a good one! Fantastic writing and I’m critical on the grammar or if there are errors I’ll give helpful feedback but nothing was bad about this book! I can’t wait for the second book!
It was an interesting take at Robin Hood retelling. Not only it was a gender-bent version, but also with added magical abilities and... love triangle? Dodge is cute and they have history, but... team Hawkin haha. Andrua (Dru) was a promising lead and I'm excited to see where this story would go next!
