Quite an in depth introduction to littering and all we can do to help to keep the planet clean.
This book is filled with ideas and photographs showing how young people can help to take care of the planet. It explains different types of littering and recognises that not all littering is intentional, but we need to take action to keep the world clean. There is a lot of text, but this is broken up with bright diagrams and images giving some of the facts about littering. There are many hints and tips, as well as questions to think about, though it may be difficult for children to carry out some of the suggested activities without a supportive adult close by.
Part of a set of early read eco-books, this looks at littering – the various products that can be found roadside and on our beaches, the way manufacturers and retailers are slowly catching up with well-intentioned citizens to produce less crap that can become litter in the first place, and many youth-led schemes to encourage clean-ups. Highly pictorial and easy to read, it's finely judged for school libraries anywhere. A strong four stars.
I loved all the real pictures and examples given in this book. I think this helped my kids really visualize what we were talking about. The graphics were great too. I loved the 5 R's of Zero Waste and I think this is a book you could easily go back and reference especially with the handy table of contents at the beginning!
