This was a helpful book for teaching words in context. It was clear to follow and contained comprehensive lists of words to enrich student vocabulary. I would recommend for teachers and parents hoping to help young people strengthen their skills in English
Test prep of any type often produces anxiety and uncertainty for students. The publisher has made detailed study materials available for high-stakes tests, here the Graduate Record Exam. Specifically, this volume mainly gives a study list, with detailed examples and explanations- of 1500 GRE-level words that the test taker may encounter in the Verbal Reasoning section of the exam.
The book begins with a clear and completely explanation of the purpose, content, and delivery of the GRE. It then leaps to the word study-which will vary in helpfulness depending upon the effort, ability, and time available for the individual.
Perhaps another volume by this publisher offers sample Verbal Reasoning items to allow the student to practice utilizing some of the words listed- in context. Having such items within this volume would tie the study and purpose together.
3.5 stars rounded up.
Thank you to Vibrant Publishers for this ARC.
This was a very helpful review guide. I will be reviewing this again before the exam.
I like working on improving writing, math skills and vocabulary. I did a little bit of work in each book. It was easy to follow and I enjoyed working with it. Recommended for those studying. This had great tips and good vocabulary list.
