I read the arc of this book thanks to netgalley and one more chapter, i gave this book 3.5 stars. It's funny and light-hearted, i loved all the rom-com references and the tiktok videos were a nice idea. I'm not a fan of insta love though and in this case the pace of their relationship was a bit too fast in my opinion. It was an easy read, lovable but not outstanding.

This book had me laughing out loud. This book is the definition of a classic rom-com, with a happy ending. Perfection. Beautiful. Romantic. Funny. Would highly recommend this one to you all, I can see it fast becoming a bestseller and TikTok book. A feel-good read. One I really enjoyed. One that's hard to forget. Meet Harry and Sally, they say opposites attract, don't they? Sally is rom com mad. Harry isn't. Sally starts to fall in love. Harry isn't sure what's happening. There are plenty of ups and downs in this relationship. Surely they can come together? I urge you to go pre-order this gem. You won't forget it. A well-deserved four stars from me.

"You're Daniel Cleaver, and I'm going to fall for Mark Darcy.'

Sally and Harry are exact opposites. Sally loves a sappy rom-com, Harry can't stand them. Sally is bubbly and outgoing, Harry is reserved and closed off. They couldn't be more wrong for each other.

But when Harry moves into Sally's flat, after escaping a failing marriage, his whole world gets flipped upside down. While watching Dirty Dancing, Sally asks Harry to recreate the iconic lift. Sally films their reenactment as a joke but the video goes viral and suddenly the internet is demanding that Sally and Harry continue to recreate iconic rom-com moments.

Harry and Sally begin recreating moments from iconic rom-coms like Never Been Kissed and Pretty Women, forcing them to spend more time together, and more than not, in comprising positions. As the scenes heat up, Harry and Sally wonder if they might be the perfect match for one another. But, both of their pasts keep holding them back from getting that perfect movie ending.

Thank you to NetGalley, Kathryn Freeman, and Harper Collins for an early copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun one. If you love rom-coms, grumpy/sunshine characters, and recreating quintessential movie moments, than this one might be perfect for you!

Overall, the pace was good, the characters were relatable, and the rom-com references were on point!

(2.5/5) I generously rounded up to 3 stars on this one, but honestly I did NOT enjoy this book, and I felt like I was spending the last half just reading it to get through it.

What I liked:
💕 I am always a fan of the Dual POV and I enjoyed that in this story!
💕 There were sweet and romantic moments that made me smile, and I thought the author put her own spin on them that made it feel a little less fake than just recreating each romcom verbatim.
💕 been a fan of room-ances lately, and this one was cute (I mean, he (view spoiler)

What I didn't like:
🙃 This book was SO much instalove/lust and it didn't feel like the characters had enough time to get to know each other/grow?
🙃 The third-act breakup was so unreasonable that I was frustrated. Genuinely both of these characters would have benefitted from a good deal of therapy and learning how to just communicate with each other and the other people in their lives.
🙃 Editing needed some HELP on this one, it felt very patched together and there were multiple moments where the phrasing choices completely took me out of the story (also there's a moment where she mentions Spider-Man but calls him Mike and not Peter that had me googling for ten minutes trying to figure out if there was a Spider-Man related Mike??)
🙃 The whole "put our budding relationship on TikTok" thing I'm now realizing is a bit of an ick for me and it kind of fell flat and made the plot seem less realistic.

Another great book from Kathryn Freeman! The sparks were flying between Sally and Harry as they ventured into the world of TikTok and started recreating famous romcom scenes - platonically, of course! I’m always a fan of dual POV in a romance and it was so good to see Henry’s perspective as he grappled with his feelings and a lifetime of baggage that left him cynical and believing that he can’t fall in love and that nobody could love him - can you hear my heart breaking? Despite how sad that all sounds, this was actually a really fun read. There was a lot of humour, and flirty banter between Henry and Sally. They were really powerless to resist each other. Both of these characters were strong, caring and needed someone to support them. They connected more and more as their romcom adventures continued and I loved the chemistry between them. There were also some great side characters, and the ones you love to hate, though I did find Kitty incredibly frustrating with her attitude towards Henry and her unapologetic cruelty masked as protectiveness and past trauma.

My first five star book of the year. And if you know me, I am stingy with my five star ratings! I adored this one! It gave me all the feels and I absolutely loved Harry!! I am always a fan of a grump and Harry was no exception except he was a piece of coal who turned into a diamond.
Sally puts an ad out for a roommate and Harry is looking for a place to stay when his girlfriend cheats on him and refuses to move out of his house. Sally is a huge romcom fan, and one night, on a drunken bet, they recreate the lift from Dirty Dancing and their friends record and and upload it their failure to TikTok and it goes viral. Sally sees the potential to monetize her love of romcoms by them recreating more famous scenes. Reluctantly, Harry goes along with it because he could use the money as well, and as they spend more time together, their relationship evolves into more than just landlord and tenant. But Harry doesn’t believe in love and Sally wants an epic love that last a lifetime. Can they meet somewhere in the middle?
This is was fun, swoony, made me laugh, made me cry, and I loved reminiscing over romantic comedies I haven’t seen in ages-especially Never Been Kissed!
Thanks to One More Chapter and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

This book felt like a big hug--hilarious, with a lot of heart, and no shortage of steam. Characters were lovable and well-developed! Looking forward to reading more from this author.

A new flatmate, looking for a bolt hole after a relationship break up. Never known a loving relationship and scathing opinion of romcoms. Can a friendship develop? Can an opinion be changed? Staging iconic romcom moments becomes something more.
The big question is how do you know it's love?
Follow Sally and Harry's relationship. Keep your fingers crossed for them in the compulsive page turner.
It will make you smile and cry

I could just tell by the amazing cover of Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner that I was in for a wild ride. I do have a certain fondness for romantic comedies, but my life doesn’t orbit around them like it did for the heroine. For our millennial Harry and Sally, their opinion on these films fell on opposite sides of the spectrum. Harry found them unrealistic and Sally esteemed them as relationship goals for her less than stellar love life. I found the carousel of romcom recreations to be a fun treat, but I could have certainly done without the excessive side drama. Harry’s horrible ex and Sally’s bratty pal seriously hampered my enjoyment of this book. We were this close to having the perfect Dirty Dancing lift, but we were unfortunately still stuck in the training montage.

Although I didn’t care for the messy conflict in NPRITC, I thought the inclusion of various movie shoutouts was very clever. The name of our main couple was the first and most obvious nod to When Harry Met Sally. This book also made allusions to Pretty Woman, Ghost, and Love Actually. This book referenced Bridget Jones too, but I’m unfamiliar with that series. I tried to pick up the book as a teen and the films seem awfully dated. The premise for this book was unique, but it was strange to have TikTok be a central theme in a modern novel. Our couple recreated famous scenes to help earn some extra cash on the side. A very strange and surreal concept, but these were my favorite sections to read. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance for a mini shopping spree and channeling your inner “Baby” with your wickedly handsome flatmate?

Despite the strange TikTok-centric premise, I ended up enjoying myself with this book. I may not froth over romantic comedies like this particular heroine, but I can acknowledge their merit. I would have preferred to focus solely on the couple and send the supporting characters back to craft services. I’m in no hurry to place rom coms in the corner after reading this book, but I’m more than happy to shove those meddling buffoons there instead.

I loved this book! The story concept was fun and cute. Sally and Henry were two people unlikely to end up together but by the end of the book...oh my gosh I couldn't image two people more suited for each other.

When Harry met Sally…they quickly moved in together and became flat mates. Harry had an unusual situation on his hands with an ex girlfriend and needed out of his house fast so he landed in the first rental that he could find. Little did he know he’d be drunkenly filming a reenactment of THE “lift” (famous romcom scene) with his land lady and that video would go viral on Tik-Tok. Harry was a romance cynic while Sally was a happily ever after fantasizer.

The people of Tik-Tok fell in love with Harry and Sally and simultaneously, Harry and Sally were falling in love with each other while recreating these iconic romcom scenes.

Like most romance books, there were bumps along the way that ultimately led to a happily ever after. This book wasn’t anything outstanding but it kept me reading. Certain parts were definitely too cute to handle while I found myself skimming over other parts. If you’re looking for a light, fluffy romcom this is your book!

A fun rom com with enjoyable characters and a plot that pulls you along, definitely a beach read this summer.

Pacing was too slow for my liking. Didn’t seem very realistic. Wish it was better as it sounded very good!

Oh this was so cute!! As a fan of the rom-com genre, I really enjoyed all the references to other rom-coms. My one complaint is that i find the whole "social media trend" trope to be very cringy but that's a personal preference, I'd totally recommend this book to someone who doesn't mind them because I still enjoyed reading.

Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for an egalley of Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner.

Imagine all your favorite tropes wrapped into one book. Grumpy x sunshine. Opposites attract. Both in denial of their growing attraction.

So when Harry met Sally (romcom movie intended), he was moving out of his house - his own house damnit - as his ex-girlfriend was in denial that their relationship had ended. And one of them needed to leave. Sally has a room for let as her sister has moved in with her - not that well off - boyfriend. The two embark on a slightly awkward cohabitation which mainly consists of staying out of each other's way. Until Sally realizes that Harry has no idea who Baby is, why noone puts Baby in the corner, or the magic of that lift in Dirty Dancing. Thus sparks the TikTok series of Harry and Sally recreating famous romcom movie scenes. Including *that* scene from When Harry Met Sally.

As they continue to work their way through classic romcoms, both find it harder and harder to deny the attraction they feel for each other. Will Harry and Sally be able to make their differences work or will they have to walk away?

This book had references to all my favorite romantic comedies, a predictable but lovable ending, and endearing characters. I read this in one evening, and enjoyed every page!

I'll be honest, I started out this book and ended up putting it down because the chemistry ignored by the main characters and all the romcom talk happening at the same time just made me frustrated. I picked it back up though and ended up devouring the rest because the chemistry was acknowledged and there was a lot of talk of romcom's, lol. There is some mature content, but other than those most of the mature moments are alluded to. I was rather impressed with my romcom knowledge and how it was laced throughout the story. Thanks NetGalley for the ARC. I think I would read this again!

This book was super sweet, and cheesy, and a perfect guilty pleasure read! I enjoyed the premise and ADORED rehashing the best scenes of some of my favourite romcoms, but it fell a little short of where I wished it could be because I found the pacing a little off or something? Some parts were super fun and fast and enjoyable, and other parts sort of felt slow and like the pacing was off. All in all was a fun read and has me itching to watch When Harry Met Sally, Dirty Dancing, Pretty Women, and my other fav romcoms. 💕🥰

Thank you to NetGalley, Kathryn Freeman and HCP UK for the arc. All thoughts and feedback are my own.

This was a slow start but a strong finish for me! The perfect read for rom com fans. Bonus points if one of your faves is When Harry Met Sally (a personal favorite of mine).

This book follows Sally, a rom com enthusiast who is waiting for her fairytale ending, and Harry, an honest and sweet man who believes love is only that - a fairytale.

They recreate favorite rom com scenes for TikTok and find a real connection along the way. This was a great first read from this new-to-me author and I can’t wait to read her other books!

I’m a romcom addict and I was absolutely obsessed with this book! It was the perfect mix with bringing in comedy into it made it so much more brilliant. I loved that there was also moments where we got some women body positivity ! That’s always a huge plus in today’s society. Highly recommend this read!
