This is the type of Romance I enjoy!
I really really liked Gemma and Levi and it gave me the feels of when I've read Talia Hibbert.
There were a few issues (I'm looking at the pacing), but overall really enjoyed and Gemma and Levi have my whole heart!
'A Ghost in Shining Armour' by Therese Beharrie is a delightful and heart-warming story that seamlessly blends the supernatural with a touching romance. Beharrie weaves a charming narrative that explores love, second chances, and the mysteries that lie beyond the veil of the afterlife.
What sets 'A Ghost in Shining Armour' apart is Beharrie's storytelling which is imbued with sensitivity and charm, making it easy for readers to become emotionally invested in the characters' journeys. The plot is both captivating and emotionally resonant, with unexpected twists that keep the reader eagerly turning the pages.
'A Ghost in Shining Armour' is a beautifully crafted novel that explores the profound connections that transcend life and death. Therese Beharrie's skilful storytelling, well-developed characters, and the perfect blend of romance and the supernatural make this book a must-read for fans of heart-warming, unconventional love stories. It's a testament to the enduring power of love and the belief that sometimes, the most extraordinary connections are found in the most unexpected places.
This is an unusual story. I really enjoyed it. Gemma's first encounter with a ghost is quite amusing and unconventional.
I really likes the journey Gemma and Levi go on separately and together, it was really interesting to follow them.
This story is both sad and happy and there are various parts to both Levi and Gemmas lives that they are trying to work out.
There are a lot of truths and honesty is explored which is a great life lesson which is very relatable. It's so hard to be honest sometimes because you think you may offend someone but you have to be selfish sometimes.
I liked the plot and the characters were ok but I just didn’t really connect with them. Not sure why though. Recommended if you like this kind of book.
This would have been okay as a simple "girl sees ghost and they fall in love" sort of story, reminiscent of Et si c'était vrai... (a story which most people will know from the movie adaptation Just Like Heaven starring Reese Witherspoon). But for some reason the author decided to include some multi-verse nonsense that makes a convoluted plot even more bewildering. I was expecting a cute, easy paranormal romance, but this story was hard to follow. I ended up DNF'ing at 30% in because it had become a chore to keep reading.
Such a lovely read!
I loved the plot of the story and I especially loved the authors writing style. It was a super easy read that I really enjoyed!
Big thank you for an advanced copy in exchange for my honeys opinion!
Gemma has found that she can see ghosts that need her help. Things all change when Levi turns out to be a ghost that comes to help her. Different and unusual
Although I found this hard to get into at the beginning it got better and I really enjoyed it
The slightly supernatural feel was well written and the characters were good in the way they handled their relationship.
Thank you NetGalley
"A Ghost in Shining Armour" by Therese Beharrie is a heartwarming and enchanting love story that blends the supernatural with the power of human connection. With its unique premise and delightful characters, this novel delivers a captivating and unforgettable reading experience.
Gemma Daniels, a woman with the ability to see ghosts, finds herself drawn to a mysterious stranger. Little does she know that Levi Walker is not just any stranger—he's a phantom determined to help her reunite with her long-lost sibling. As Gemma and Levi pretend to be a couple, their connection deepens, forcing them to confront their own fears and desires.
Therese Beharrie's writing style is engaging and evocative, effortlessly immersing readers in the world of Gemma and Levi. The author skillfully combines elements of romance, supernatural elements, and family dynamics, creating a multifaceted story that tugs at the heartstrings.
The characters in the book are endearing and relatable, with Gemma and Levi stealing the spotlight. Gemma's compassionate nature and her gift of helping ghosts find peace make her a compelling protagonist. Levi's journey of redemption and self-discovery adds depth and complexity to the story, as he grapples with the meaning of loyalty and the nature of living.
The romance between Gemma and Levi is beautifully portrayed, with Beharrie capturing their growing connection and chemistry in a heartfelt manner. The challenges they face, both in their individual lives and as a couple, make their journey all the more compelling and rewarding.
Gemma can see ghosts and does her best to help them along the way. Then she meets Levi. He's a ghost but his quest is to help her. Helping her allows him to go back but he won't see her again. Can they both find out what they want and need.
This had such a good premise but didn't quite deliver for me. I struggled to get into the story and the characters. I wanted to enjoy it more. The ending however was good and I liked the very ending between Jude and Levi.
I thought that the plot of this book sounded interesting and quirky. I like to read unique books occasionally and this one seemed to be very promising.
Unfortunately it didn't hold my interest and I struggled to read it. I did finish it but it was difficult.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.
I don’t know why I didn’t love this book. It has a lot going for it: a person who sees and helps ghosts, fun banter, some family drama, and fake dating. Something in the formula just didn’t work for me. I really think I would have enjoyed it more as a film than a book. I also found myself not liking either of the main characters much. Even though I didn’t enjoy it much personally, I did find it readable.
Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for the free Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest review.
I do think a lot of people would enjoy this book. I gave it three stars. I would recommend it to certain readers.

This book was such a surprise. The first part was quite slow and it got me a lot to get into the story, but I have to admit that beside that I enjoyed it so much.
This novel follows Gemma, a woman who can see ghosts, and Levi, the ghost sent to help her overcome some difficult situations. This is the premise, but of course stuff happens and feelings are involved.
I really enjoyed the supernatural part of this romance. I have never read a contemporary romance with paranormal vibes, and now I'm obsessed. I can't wait to read more of them.
I also liked how the romance wasn't the only part of this book, the characters also have to deal with different family situations and how they impact their day-to-day life. Gemma and Levi were two very interesting main characters, they are so different but their personalities really complement each other and their banter was great to read.
I haven't read anything by Beharrie in the past but I'll surely get to more of her work in the future, such a fun read that I highly recommend!
Once haunted . . .
Gemma Daniels has never been quite the “down to earth” woman her adoptive parents raised her to be. She even has a unique gift: she can see ghosts—and she likes helping them settle their unfinished business. But the hotter-than-hot stranger she impulsively kisses on a bet is not only a phantom, he's determined to help her. And the only way Gemma can explain his presence is to pretend they’re a real-life couple.
Twice shy . . .
Levi Walker lived—and died—to save his sister. Now he’s got a second chance at life if he assists Gemma in reuniting with her own long-lost sibling . . . and then never sees Gemma again. But as he starts to enjoy her irrepressible personality, he’s finding it hard to abide by any rules at all . . .
Had my attention from start to finish… I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day. No one is more disappointed than me that this most-anticipated paranormal romance of mine turned into an unfinished two-star rating. I'm shocked at how boring the plot was, considering that the heroine makes out with a dead man in the very first chapter. The whole multiverse couldn't make me care about the stilted characters when the protag and her best friend use a verbal intensity scala to communicate their feelings. I'm sorry, but it's a no from me.
This was the first book that I have read from this author, and I’m so glad I chose this as my first pick! A Ghost In Shining Armour is a quick, fast-paced and completely unconventional romance and I was totally here for it. This story contains a handful of heavier topics, however, the author handled these with grace and in a way that didn’t make me as a reader feel upset, which in my opinion is a totally difficult thing to do. My mission was to seek out a lighthearted romance, and this was perfect! There was great chemistry between the two main characters, but they still had feelings and low points in their lives that made them relatable to those reading. I’m not a massive fan of the majority of fantasy romances, but this felt more like a romantic fantasy, it’s a romance with a few fantastical aspects but never gets confusing, which is totally perfect for me! Whilst this wasn’t my favourite rom-com that I’ve read, it was definitely enjoyable and I would tell every romance lover to give Therese Beharrie a go.
This romance is a little different from the average, with a little paranormal twist. The story follows Gemma, who didn’t quite turn out how her adoptive parents hoped that she would, but, they also didn’t expect her to be able to see ghosts. That’s okay though, none of us is perfect! However, Gemma uses her gift to the best of her ability, to help the ghosts settle their unfinished business so that they can pass peacefully. But, when a night messing around with her friends leads to kissing a stranger on a bet, this stranger turns out to be the most attractive man she had ever laid her eyes on, and he’s also dead. Levi Walker is on a mission of his own, Gemma is helping Ghosts, and Levi is helping Gemma. In order to get a second chance at life and reunite with his sister, Levi must help Gemma to reunite with her long-lost sister. But, when her friends catch them in what could be described as a compromising position, the two must pretend to date, things continue to get heated and their emotions are at an all-time high.
I loved the dynamic and the banter between these two and the contrast between their characters and personalities worked so well. However, I did think the story was a little fast-paced in regards to the plot, and I did get a little lost at times, but I feel that is minor compared to how much I enjoyed this book. Thank you so much to NetGalley, HarperCollins One More Chapter, and of course, Therese Beharrie for the digital copy of this book. I can’t wait to check out more from this author!
This was a fun and unique romance with the added twist of ghosts! Gemma has been able to see ghosts for a while, they visit her and she must help them with their final wish before they can move on. She’s never had a ghost help her with a task until Levi. And after kissing Levi for a bet, he now appears human and can be seen by all. Levi has been tasked with helping Gemma reunite with her long lost twin sister that her adoptive parents never told her about. If Levi is successful, he can return to his universe alive and be there for his younger sister.
The only way to explain Levi’s presence is to pretend they’re dating, which inevitably brings up some real feelings and a lot of tension between these two as they’re living in the same space. They are very flirty towards each other, but both are aware that having any sort of relationship would only hurt them in the end as Levi is a ghost and not from Gemma’s universe. I couldn’t help but root for them as they both had to make difficult decisions that had the probability of uprooting their entire life. This book was a fun read and I was hooked to their slow burn romance.
While this wasn't the best book I've ever read, the concept for the story was great. I enjoyed it enough to finish it though wouldn't rush to read it again. I didn't find the story overly engaging and didn't feel for the characters as much as I thought I would. Nice enough read, but not something to shout from the rooftops.
This book sounded really interesting and I really thought I would enjoy it. Unfortunately I didn't end up enjoying it like I thought but I think that others will. It just wasn't for me.
While I enjoyed the slightly bizarre nature of this story I did find it maybe a little too much for my taste but I appreciate the tone that the author was trying to relay and the heavier topics that were broached are always hard to get through in a romcom/ghostly situation but Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
