A Hollywood sapphic love story with an insane amount of food as side characters! (I’m blaming you, Amy Spalding, for all the snacks I consumed while reading it, just fyi)

Nina has been dumped in a pretty mean way three years ago and never really recovered. Her ex had made her think she was some evil, toxic person who didn’t deserve to be happy and Nina had believed her. Not only she swore off dating, she also ghosted all her friends. And when she was busy keeping herself alone and miserable, Ari stormed into her life with boundless energy and much needed joy.

I loved Ari, she was confident, spontaneous and fun to be around. She also deserved better. Because Nina on the other hand…
Nina frustrated me to no end; first, her level of denial was truly astonishing. Girl!! You can’t be THAT blind?? She sends you gifts, ‘be at my place tonight’ texts, she is into you!!!

Next to being absolutely clueless Nina excelled at self sabotage. I guess if someone convinces you that you’re toxic you actually become toxic… So Nina had assumed things would eventually go to shit, they obviously did and she didn’t try to stop them.

I know I keep complaining about third act breakups, but this one was so bizarre. They didn’t even have a proper fight; mistakes were made on both sides, they discussed them in a three minutes phone call, and that was it, they just hung up and stopped talking.🤯 How is that even possible???

The whole story is told from Nina’s pov and I would have loved Ari’s pov too. Mostly because I think it would be more fun, but also because I didn’t really get what did she see in Nina. She somehow managed to see through Nina’s issues, which is really sweet, but also interesting and I was very curious about what was going on in her head.

I was not sure about the friends dynamics. They were supposedly like family but when Nina was grieving her previous relationship nobody reached out to her? There was a rumor she was dead? And nobody bothered to check if it was true? That’s really weird.

What I did like was that Nina’s issues were not assumed to be magically solved by having a girlfriend, and that she got therapy. That’s actually really refreshing; it always irks me when a girl who thought her whole life she was ugly and stupid believes the first boy who tells her otherwise.
I also liked that Nina’s bff was mad at her for ghosting them and expressed it.

All in all it was an okay read, 3.5 stars.

For Her Consideration by Amy Spalding revolves around Nina and Ari. I truly loved seeing the LGBTQ+ representation in the novel with a FF romance and think it is a great one to venture into this genre and topic. I really enjoyed the first half of the book, both characters were charismatics and I loved their development throughout the novel. However, the second half of the book was a bit slower. There were parts in the book that caused me trouble connecting with Nina and Ari. I am not a big fan of insta-love and that was probably a big factor that caused me to lose a bit of connection with the characters. I did enjoy the fun and lively aspect of the novel with that bit of spice to add sizzle to the romance. I truly believe that Ari and Nina found each other in the right place and at the right time.

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and think many people will fall in love with Ari and Nina. I can't wait to see what Amy has in store for us and believe she will bring fun and spice together in a great novel.

I have got to be honest, I could not see the chemistry between the pair. Whilst their personalities are likeable, there was more chemistry between Ari and Lorna than Ari and Nina.

Unfortunately, this book wasn't for me. I didn't feel the spark between the two characters, Nina and Ari and I'm sorry, Nina talked about her past and ex far too often. I also noticed that 'they both laughed' was written for stuff that, I at least, didn't find funny. It's a shame, because I think the plot had promise. On the plus side, I did love Nina's aunt, Lorna. I'd like a story about what her and her friends get up to.

This book had lgbtq+ representation, a Hollywood backdrop, and some spice! I think a lot of people will love this rom com, it’s a lot of fun.

Overall, I found myself wanting more out of the plot and characters. I still recommend as the characters and setting are very entertaining.

A sweet, sapphic, tropey romance. It was a fun read, and I enjoyed most of the characters - I'd read another novel set in this universe and with this same friend group; it made me nostalgic for having a solid crew, and I enjoyed how the friendships underpinned Nina's relationship with Ari. All in all, an engaging, easy read!

I like Nina in this book she such a sweetie though I do feel like screaming at her to get help with her issues by going to therapy.
Ari Fox is an up and coming star.
It gives me a sweet feel whislt reading. Ari was my favourite character in this book she's so fun and quirky.
Nina is a bit whiny I find but she nervous after her past realtionships finished.
Lorna the auntie makes me laugh out loud with her dry wit. She's a very interesting 80 year old.
The friendship and how they are like family really add another aspect to this book and made me smile.

Bit of a miss for me. Ari and Nina are not a bad pair, but I didn't feel much chemistry from them and so the romance felt a bit flat. However, it's worth reading just for the side characters, especially Nina's friends. I could have read about them for days!

Easy read, but not one I'd go back to.

Amy Spalding's sapphic romance left me with a full and satisfied heart. Readers will spend as much time with Nina's "found family" of beloved friends as with Ari, her sexy love interest. Los Angeles also played a big role, as most of the characters work in and around Hollywood in film, television, PR, etc.

Nina has lost part of herself, and it takes the strength of love and friendship to find it again. I am not sure I've ever read a book that made me want to scream so hard at the MC to go and get some basic therapy already. Yet, the book is light and fun, focusing on moving forward and seeking out the things that truly make life worth living. There was also laughter, spice, and everything nice in this delightful novel.

I give it 9/10 stars and recommend it to anyone who loves LA, queer icons, and swoony novels about dating a movie star.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC of 'For Her Consideration' by Amy Spalding.

This book seemed right up my alley from the concept, the cover and everything about it. However, and it might just be a me issue, I felt it fell flat for me. The character were fabulous but the plot just didn't hit as well as I expected. Which is annoying but we make do. The book wasn't for me but I can certainly name a couple people who would adore this book.

I’ll keep this short because this wasn’t for me! The pacing was so slow and there was so much inner monologue. The romance came out of nowhere and I saw zero chemistry between Ari and Nina (also, please, how many times did Ari call Nina by her full name? I lost count). I wish I could have enjoyed this one more, but reading it felt like a chore.

Thanks to the publisher for my ARC. Opinions are my own!

Honestly 3.5 for this one. The first 55ish% of this was great and a lot of fun. It was lively and interesting and the spark between Nina and Ari was instant and charming. However, as the book went on, it became more tedious to read, and Nina started to grate on my nerves. She read more like a 20-year-old than a 30-year-old a lot of the time and it was just.. eh. However the dialogue was great, Ari was an amazing character and there were a lot of solid, fascinating side characters.

Overall I liked this one a lot but there were just areas I wish were better.

2.5 stars. Phew. Don't get me wrong. I really love some FF action. I really love that more books everyday have LGBTQ+ representation. But a book (ANY BOOK), to catch my attention has to have something more. This book was soooo cheesy. But it wasn't cheesy like these books that gives you tingles. No, it was the other cheesy book. I mean Ari's is an actress, of course she would have win the Oscar (What?).

I kept reading it thinking "God I should stop, I can't" but kept on reading just to see where this was going. It was so predictable I thought I would have wrote it. And I'm not a writer.

Don't take me wrong, the premise (although this famous-infamous trope isn't my thing) was ok, the execution was no no no. So, yeah.. No..

I though Nina was a lot of whiny, Ari was wayyyyy too much. Although I loved Lorna who reminded so much of Betty White in her Golden Girls era which I love. Hence the rating of 2.5 stars.

Nina Rice currently ghost writes emails for celebrities, but that's not what she moved to LA for. As an aspiring screen writing Nina has been stuck in a rut after a bad break up and three years later she's still not looking to even consider dating again. However after an incident with an overly difficult actress turns Nina's entire life plans upside down.

I absolutely adored everything about this book. From the fun and playful banter between Nina and Ari right off the bat, Nina's incredible found family, and Nina's fun and quirky Aunt, this book hit all of the marks for me.

Though its a romance and has all the traits of your average romance this book felt like so much more. Nina is so well developed and her journey in finding herself in her early 30s is so relatable and honest. The struggles she faces while trying to find her place and finding her happiness are so accurate and honest and are the real selling point to this novel.

I honestly don't have anything but great things to say and I loved this so much, even shed a few tears but my heart melted for Nina and all of her friends.

This one sounded quite good even if preditable... but unfortunately it missed the mark for me. Nina is supposedly to be 30yo and she seems to be someone way younger. I found her character quite annoying and flat. The writing made it look like a YA, by the way the characters behaved.

I've enjoyed Amy Spalding's YA novels, so I was excited to see she'd written an adult romance - and a queer one to boot! For Her Consideration is sexy, romantic and full of warmth. I loved Nina and Ari, and Nina's fiercely supportive friends, but I think my favourite character was her fabulous Aunt Lorna. (Or maybe Steve the invisible cat.) I flew through this book and was sad when it ended. Oh and it made me want to go to LA. But then I always want to go to LA.

This was such a great story! I love a book that takes place in Hollywood and this was so fun. It gave me Casey McQuiston vibes while I was reading, in the best way. I found this was an easy, feel good story that also talked about tough topics. This author was new to me and I can't wait to read her other work!

After a horrible break up three years ago, Nina Rice has given up on romance and her friends off... as well as her dreams of script writing. Now Nina spends her time hiding out in her aunt’s condo in the suburbs of LA working remotely. She manages celebrity email accounts but then one day she is called in to meet Ari Fox, a young actress who is extremely popular. Ari and Nina quickly hit it off and fall for each other... but there is one glitch, it puts Nina’s position in jeopardy. Nina finds herself reconnecting with old friends, giving a try at writing again, but most of all, giving a try at romance. This was a very light rom-com that wasn’t really spicy and it felt cute overall.
