Why eat animals, when there's food like this available. And if it's not available, here's an awesome cookbook that'll show you how to make every single childhood favourite food you can think of without sacrificing a life.
I shouldn't have read this book after midnight, but I don't regret it.
As a vegan, who is mostly junk food vegan and only sometimes remembers to eat healthier, I can honestly say this book is perfection. Loved every page, every picture and want to make every recipe.
I have never even tried most of these non-vegan versions in my life, but I trust this dude to replicate the taste and the visual of each and every junk food that is listed here.
I follow Thee burger dude on several social media platforms and I can never get enough of the unhealthy junk food in the videos he posts.
THIS BOOK WAS INCREDIBLE! I need it on my bookshelf IMMEDIATELY! Vegan Fast Food by Brian Watson has the yummiest vegan comfort food recipes in the universe. I already made the ranch dressing to dip absolutely everything in and it is so freaking good. Will be making literally every recipe in here.
Ok I’ll admit it, vegan fast food ,to me, sounds like an oxymoron. That could not be farther from the truth. This author takes a lot of your favorite fast food guilty pleasures and makes them vegan!!! Easy to follow recipes and they all look incredible (& like the original non-vegan versions) which is not always the case with vegan food.
I’m not vegan and I can’t wait to try each and every recipe in this book!
This is a lovely recipe book that puts iconic fast food favourites back on the menu for vegans! From the widely known 'Big Mac' to some other treats less familiar to my British taste buds, the 'Bob's Big Boy Bob's Famous Hot Fudge Cake' for example (yes, rejoice - sweet treats are featured!) There is sure to be something to tempt any/everyone!
The author, I feel, covers for a variety of levels of cooking expertise, with some shortcuts for those of us looking to spend less time in the kitchen!
The presentation of the book is lovely with some very tempting photography (see the aforementioned hot fudge cake!)
The calorie content/macro's are not given, this not necessarily a bad thing, as serious calorie counters will no doubt have this covered, and the rest of us can happily live in blissful ignorance!
Overall, this is a book I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
I received an ARC of this cookbook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a fantastic cookbook. I was pleasantly surprised by how many popular fast food items it featured.
So many satisfying copies of my old go to dishes, I have been missing some of the McDonald’s menu item now I can make a better copy.
These are great recipes. A lot of copycat recipes in this also. They seem easy and straightforward.
Bryan Watson has taken quite the journey to veganize good old fast food from his favorite places. I am not that big on fast food, but once in a while I'm up for a treat. For a fast food junkie this book is absolutely perfect! I found enough interesting recipes for me to try. The variety of foods is quite impressive! I think the pictures look great, and I always appreciate it when cookbooks have pictures of every recipe.
Where was this book all the years I was vegan? This is a fantastic cookbook for anyone vegan or just trying to reduce their animal products who craves their old fast food favorites. Every recipe has a delicious, authentic looking photo. There’s a Taco Bell crunch wrap, a McDonalds filet of fish, Cinnabon cinnamon rolls, Chik Fil A chicken sandwich, Cheesecake Factory fried Mac and cheese balls, Wendy’s chocolate shake, you name it. There are tons of recipes. The instructions are easy to follow even though some of the recipes will definitely take some time and effort. Most seem like they’ll be tastier and healthier than the originals, though none of this is really healthy of course. No surprise, there’s no nutritional information.
About half the recipes use whole food ingredients and about half call for purchased products, but he provides homemade recipes if you want to make your own versions of those too.
If you’re craving old favorite junk food treats, this will be a great book.
